Been a week of just digging more into this drama after finishing it. This is the first cdrama that I completed, and the first ever xianxia I watched. I tend to avoid fantasy and historical to a lesser degree.. but I had a sudden curiousity of xianxia and a friend recommended this, and I'm so glad I tried. I am still healing from the ending, but it was an amazing watch. Ngl had some culture shock with all the flyings and bloody coughs lol but by the end I am actually pretty amazed from the world building, sets, etc.. The ML acting is really impressive, I kept thinking how much longer do I need to cry for Tantai Jin??? (🤡) I also adore FL right away. Their characters are so complex. There are just so many details, I would need some rewatch to catch them all but I'm enjoying reading all the findings and theories. The OSTs are really nice too, some of them are going to my playlist. I want to watch this couple in the other drama, love their chemistry and I see cute clips.. but right now I'm more motivated to watch another xianxia.. 😅 I hope they get another costume drama project (but with happy ending pls 🙏)

I think Ritsu did just wanted to be friends at first despite his feelings but pushed by Ryo's writer boss to pursue more. But I was disappointed at him at the end when he cut off the friendship at one point and that she was the one apologizing.

I also didn't like how her idea of romance isn't all that in life in the beginning feels more like a result of trauma (because of their mom) - it feels more like resentment than genuine belief, so I can see why some people wants a romance endgame if that means she let go of that resentment.

I'm personally satisfied with the ending since she respected the idea that romance can be the happiness of others through her sisters while also stand on her belief. I believe there should be a mutual understanding for both ideas that happiness can come from romance and not, and I think this message is fulfilled at the end by the stories of the 4 sisters.

Megu - hopeful of romance, end up a happy bride
Ryo - avoided romance, end up happy with no romantic relationship
Eri - avoided romance, found happiness from romance
Mei - hopeful of romance, found happiness from something else (career)

If by leads it's Ryo (main FL) and Ritsu (the "romantic interest") then no, they don't end up together. Overall, it is a happy ending but it may be a bit more complicated to say from watchers' perspective who is seeking for a romance story since one of the point of the story is that main FL doesn't need romantic relationship to be happy.

This was beautiful. Beautifully sad. Feels kind of like poetry. I will feel a bit melancholic for a while whenever I listen to Nekko.

I haven't watched the other 2 but yes Goblin OST is one of the best ones for me too! Along with Hotel del Luna for me

Just finished this drama and I'm sure Sudden Shower will be stuck in my head for a while, and I don't mind it lol. Haven't been so into a Kdrama OST in a while but the soundtrack is beautiful and so nostalgic for some reason.

That is a really great performance from YYS. Even though the whole situation felt a bit too over the top for me to take seriously, his acting there makes me feel emotional too.

That's one that still confuses me tbh lol he could be completely clueless or he was shock to see his wife get angry at him because seems like it never happened before. He didn't even realize his personality was so cold and that he makes people uncomfortable (his wife and even at work)

I wonder if Sa Eon actually understand sign language more than everyone thinks? I wonder ever since the scene where they learned SL on ep 5 (fav scene 🥺) because he already learned the alphabet. I wonder if he learned it way before. And then on ep 6 we see young Sa Eon copying Hui Ju doing the "it's ok" sign, and he knew what it meant.

I remember he also knew when Hui Ju cursed at him on 1st episode. And during the interpreter test, Sa Eon caught it right away that Hui Ju actually moved even before the word is spoken sometimes. I guess tou can notice that just for being very attentive, but nobody else in the panel commented.

My guess is he understand a lot more than he shows, but maybe can't do it yet. Or I'm just really off track here lol

Glad that I stalled a bit before actually watching it and caught up to episode 6. I couldn't really take the drama seriously in the beginning, some actions just felt questionable. I warmed up to it though as the story goes, and stuff being revealed but especially warming up to the couple. I think the story did really well with telling their story especially through the flashbacks of when they were kids.

Now I am waiting impatiently for the next episode lol so I just kept rewatching some parts and noticing some things...

Many thanks to irozukusubs for subbing this! Seeing it got picked up by them made me watch it. I initially was going to skip it because I love the manga so I'm scared of being too nitpicky and ended up disappointed, but the drama turned out really really good! I was skeptical after episode 1 because Souma was a bit too typical there, and I remember him as a more eccentric character. He shows his true colors by ep 2 and I am loving this show a lot now. It really brings the manga to life. So glad I ended up watching it :")

Didn't think there would be a 2nd ML I get attached to.. Episode 9 hurts, I almost dropped this show lol but that cliffhanger makes me curious....

why do I feel like Sachi's mom plays favorite with her children... she's really nice to Sachi but feels kind of dismissive towards the brother..

I thought I was immune to this type of tearjerker stories because Japan makes it often, and it's predictable. The beginning also felt rough for me - acting felt kinda stiff, feeling more sad for her mom than the 2 leads which I don't think is what the movie wanted to do, so I felt off at first... but over time, I really get into their chemistry and cried a lot by the latter half of the movie. Guess I'm not immune yet 🥲
