In arabic, one thing is mothers/fathers will refer to their children as mama(mom) and baba (dad), I noticed and still have no idea why lol, but it's a sign of affection. Calling friends of your parents "aunty" and "uncle" is also used. There's nothing equal to the....uh....use of brother and 'daddy' lol. You can also use ibn/bint (meaning son of/ daughter of) to refer to someone, Spouses refer to each other by name and by role lol, mother/father, also nicknames :D This also slightly depends on which arab country you're from :).

this drama is actually pretty unique and it's not forced as well (cough..where some dramas today will try to force uniqueness), the interaction between the characters actually feels really human? One point is that the plot is really character driven, like really, so take that as you will.
