Yes, the ml has suffered but so has the fl, she was quite literally forced to have her emotions stripped, betrayed by the heavens, and she didn't even know about it. Also, in the beginning when she's in trouble and put in the cave, the first episodes, all she cares about is how the ML will be punished, not herself.
