I was wondering how romance ever gonna enter into their relationship organically, turns out they took the alcohol route. Alcohol-kun strikes again lmao. Ya'll better drinking less mannn. It feels like i was played for expecting a mutual romantic development but oh well, wtv i guess...
Don't think so. It is animated. A different style is used which makes it look like AI. Don't think tvN would stoop…
but the animation isn't even consistent with the baby character's looks. i can understand they just went the general route, but they could've just made that intro with the actual child actor instead of animation imo.
I AGREE AGH !! kdrama writers have been recycling the same plots and formulas of previous success hoping for another…
yes i agree with your points!! I think 20years ago the kdrama industry was still making shows that the local audience will be more familiar with and find entertainment in. I think globalisation has also led to stories being either dumbed down or made easy to digest. This is why I've been trying to watch more early 2000s or 2010s shows. it's not easy to find them subbed these days but I'm glad some are still preserved. I'm not very optimistic that we'll see a change in the industry soon but we might have occasional 'mydearest's that surprise me.
Wasn't the drama already convoluted enough and dare i say kinda original ? Another body swap plot out of nowhere?...…
I AGREE AGH !! kdrama writers have been recycling the same plots and formulas of previous success hoping for another big hit but they keep making things that a shell with nothing inside. I find quite a lot of stories are missing their core or essence. I started this originally because of how similar it was to 'Knight flower' that drama was a very fun watch for me so i thought maybe this wont be so bad but....the politics are not really that complex and the story itself isnt much i'd worry missing out on.
I like parts of this drama that's why it drives me crazy when I can see I'm not enjoying it to my fullest potential. I don't restrict myself from watching genres but cdramas have this exclusive thing called 'idol dramas' which are basically beautified romance dramas of popular traffic actors. I usually steer away from them but I thought I was only being negative about them but I really enjoyed this one. it's just that a lot of unnecessary things are included for 'character depth' but really we could've shortened the FL's friend's husband story and had that flushed out early itself it's not like this adds anything to the plot itself so yeah it was just unnecessary imo. same with the ML's backstory cause I know it's going to be used as a conflict later and the make up will be the grand finale and I would honestly hate all the relationship things happening in a tight few eps.
I see- I had to 1.5x and 1.75x at parts that it was driving me crazy. I don't usually even give these dramas a watch just look at edits but I thought I should be more open this year but it seems it's still not my type after all.
I find this is one of the more decnelry made and paced dramas but I can DEFINITELY rewrite this and make it short by 10eps if we didn't have the most unnecessary 2nd couple story and the ML's backstory/mystery that's taking forever.
although the couple look good together and their story is good. it's taking FOREVER for development. man this is what I dislike about cdramas there are SO many eps but all the development happens in the last 10eps 🙄😫
we are already 14eps in and the romance barely started....i see the romantic chemistry but im not SEEING IT IMPLEMENTED YET! I'm sorry but i've had ENOUGH with the plot, just kiss now!
It was all a big scam... jin jin even scammed her mother, brilliant.
it's dumb. the story telling is DUMB. they just add the super natural element to make things make sense. it's like when you change your mind or want to add changes later so you just add it with NO care for what you've already established. In this case, the entire drama established NOTHING. It's a waste that they even tried to tell a story about scam organisations with absolutely NO care for authencity or portrayal that actually shows its impact.
for some reason it has become a weird norm for popular actors to do the most RANDOM cameos in netflix series.....what does this serve ? a tease for a potential new season? a bait to see if peaks people's interest??
I'd like to know the data on if it actually increases tourism or not.
uae, especially Dubai thrives largely from tourism. it's not like the world hasn't heard "Habibi come to Dubai" a 100 times online already andost celebrities also show off their trips to the place. I'm sure they def got some contract with Netflix for more promo. I don't think their reputation is going to particularly take off given current public outrage and I'm glad.
Here hoping for a decent/watchable/i won't drop typa drama. I have faith in the cast, as for the script, i haven't seen anything from this screenwriter so i am not sure. As for the director, it's an ok for me. After whatever trash genie was, i def need eunjin to cleanse her image for me. Anyhow im pretty positive look wise their chemistry will work.
I find it hard to believe that this kind of mother exists in the world. I can't believe your daughter was sexually…
Sadly, the whole family is dysfunctional and the mother is used is used to controlling her daughter's life. The mother is also subjected to internalized misogyny and she holds strong patriarchal ideals. Besides most if not all asian household hold women to a strong standard when it comes to guarding their chastity. Therefore, shame is worse than seeking justice while exposing the truth. Where i'm from, women will not only be blamed for it but could also be k-worded for ruining the honor of the family. This is totally bred in the culture so yeah it's worse in real life in some places but i do understand why you find it unbelievable. I do hope for a cultural shift in these places so that victims don't live in pain hiding it for fear, their own family will harm them.
will this be romantic? or more like a married couple solving this issue mentioned?
I'm at ep5. I was worried the whole Assault would be used for a romantic story instead of being taken seriously. HOWEVER, i'm happy to report that its a more serious plot. Not a typical rom com.
telling wise. oh how I wish kdrama writers ACTUALLY worked on plots of historical shows 😩🫩
