Agree with everything you said. Zheng Hao's development would be interesting to see. I'm also looking forward to seeing what they do with Shi Ye's character other than to be an antithesis to Zheng Hao.

yea I thought the same about that scene. And since they first met again as adults i also wondered about what happened to Shi Ye in the past. I feel like if he stuck to his mom's expectations of him he would actually become a version of Zheng Hao.
Everything in episode 8 was satisfying but my favorite part was when the guys showed up to care for her when she was sick. There was something about how they got comfortable like they'd been friends forever. I felt like that scene really solidified them as real friends and not just the stand-up comedy friends from the bar.
I'm rewatching it, and I'm still enjoying it so much. Also, I don't know if I'm just older now, but for some reason, I love it more than I did when it first came out.
We are told XXF is a Cai Nue. A Cai Nue (Talented Woman) in Ancient China is rare and XXF is the most talented…
yeah just need one of those flashbacks to happen sooner. they tell us she's talented but feels like they were emphasizing her beauty more in that scene. This drama reminds me a lot of Jun Jiu Ling where the FL is totally helpless at the beginning and suddenly smarter than everybody else when she gets a new identity. It's just not for me.
Forced? Xue Feng Fei was on the brink of death and suicidal. She was saved by Jiang Li, who, doing so was beaten…
yup still hard to believe that someone one who felt that hopeless could suddenly think with a clear mind that she can pull off this ruse to take the place of someone else. It felt like the writers forced this narrative that XFF has a strong sense of justice and the intelligence to come up with a plan that would work all for a woman who she knew for a few hours. All I'm saying is I wished the writers showed us a bit more of her character to understand why she has the confidence to impersonate someone else. They only show her as a devoted wife to her husband so it didn't make sense to me why she was suddenly strategic and capable of executing her plan.
Watching episode 5 and I still have mixed feelings about this drama. I think FL's relationship with the real Jiang Li happened too fast so her decision to get justice for Jiang LI felt forced. Also because we knew so little about the FL, the change from someone who was tricked by people she knows and lived with to being an intelligent person with a plan for justice wasn't the most believable. I'll keep watching but not hopeful that I'll finish.
I might be the only one, but I'm baffled by the 8.7 rating this show has received. I'd generously give it an 8,…
I actually think the fl is very brave and intelligent but doesn't have as much wisdom. She acts but doesn't always realize the danger of her choices. She starts out thinking she can get married and still be able to do whatever she wants but once things fell apart for her family, the more she grew her business, the more she understood the dynamics in her family, she learned more that things are not simple. So I think her character was pretty consistent because as she grew to experience the world for what it really is not just through her grandfather's writings and teachings, it makes sense that she would feel the tension about the choices she makes. Staying silent before the king goes against who she is but speaking out is risky. I think it's similar to the ml. The more the emperor blames the fl and hurts her the more he realizes that he has limited power to protect her and everyone else. And I guess for the emperor, he's realizing that he lost power because he can no longer influence or control his nephew... so he's acting out because he's all about the power. I don't know those are my thoughts.
I may be in the minority here but I think our leads have beautiful chemistry. I love how their relationship developed…
I thought they had good chemistry. I actually liked their interactions when he's masked. But I think they're both really calm characters so their chemistry is not as intense.. and that's totally fine.
This one might be my favorite of 2024! Loved it and I was kinda sad that it was ending. Hua Zhi was a great character. She was smart and ambitious but we also got to see the ways she was naive and learned from it. I felt all her emotions in ep. 37. Gu Yan Xi was so supportive and as I rewatched some scenes, I actually appreciated how calm he is whenever he's with her during some of those hard moments.
It's not bad. It had a good start but the issue with the bad guys could have been wrapped up faster. I didn't care much about anything in the last few episodes. Entertaining but predictable. The concept of the author writing a novel while the viewers enter the story is nothing new. It's really pointless because the author is only seen at the beginning and the end. Maybe seeing the author's story and the story she writes side-by-side would make a better drama. In the end, this is purely for entertainment. Don't expect it to make sense or for much depth and complexity in the plot. ZYX and WZQ make a good pairing and I hope we'll see them again in a better drama.
But why do I feel like I don't like the fiancee's dad?
