My Sweet Mobster Episode 5

This is an interesting setup. Whether the Go Eun Ha's mysterious childhood friend is the obvious second lead, or the main male lead. Overall this was a fun episode building up how Go Eun Ha officially ends up living at Seo Ji Hwan. She's gonna tutor the boys and help them get a GED. Or some kind of education. I was not expecting Go Eun Ha to get drunk and kiss Seo Ji Hwan at the end there!!! That was shocking!!! And unexpected. I was honestly thinking a kiss might not ever happen. I expected this drama to be innocent to the end. Perhaps even the writers can't resist that deep voice and can't deprive Go Eun Ha of a kiss!

So is our Sweet Mobster who helped her out when she was younger? I thought maybe it was the prosecutor. Anywho, the way our Sweet Mobster is with the ML is so amazing. He's so gentle. And letting her stay there at his house and all of his men's reactions!!!! I also feel invested in the second romance blooming here!!Those poor mobsters didn't know what to think with a woman waking up among them!

Wow, this is such a wholesome drama. I could listen to the ML talk FOREVER. I love how much he's protecting our ML! Taking that hit for from the milk. Most importantly that playground time was perfection. I know he can't handle his alcohol so that's really what inspired it, but as an adult who can't help but play on the playground to find a guy to join me on it is one of my green flags.

Hong Doo Shik is right! Yoon Hye Jin keeps drawing these lines and being horrible. I wonder if there's more to her past than what we saw of that boyfriend? So crazy!!! This episode is so cute and I have to give a solid thanks to the writer for keeping the plots going! I'm so invested in all the characters. This episode had my so giddy. I felt for Yoon Hye Jin. Maybe it was that she was insulted he didn't just admit that they had kissed, or she just lashes out if she feels rejected. But. BUT I will say that Doo Shik is acting like more than just a friend. He's really pushing into her personal space and what she is comfortable letting him in at. He's the one that truly seems like he wants more. He's putting those vibes out there while telling her differently. This was such a beautiful episode for parent love. Especially the love a dad has for his daughter. I cried. It was so wonderful. That ending!!!!!!!!! HE-he-he!!!

My original review got deleted. So I'm a bit disheartened. But this episode was great. There's three great mysteries in Gongjin:
1) Why Jang Yeong Guk and Yeo Hwa Jeong got a divorce.
2) Where Hong Doo Shik was for the five years he wasn't in gongjin.
3) . . . . well Yoon Hye Jin's impatience lost us that one. Hopefully we find out soon. It was hilarious that everyone agreed that Hong Doo Shik was the better catch in the relationship than Yoon Hye Jin. All she has going for her is that's she a dentist. I'd like to see a flashback that her best friend, Pyo Mi Seon, stand for her. Now that I've had time to think about it Yoon Hye Jin looking down on others might be her defense mechanism. So when Pyo Mi Seon tells Yoon Hye Jin that she's not the catch in the relationship it hurts her. Her friend even alluding to her agreeing with the other towns folk. Which hurts. When Yoon Hye Jin confesses that she told Hong Doo Shik they're not on the same social level even her best friend can't stay silent. Bringing up what a past boyfriend did to her. Insulting Yoon Hye Jin. Dragging her through the mud saying her fashion and lack of wardrobe was so awful. Which is probably why Yoon Hye Jin is so caught up in using fashion as armor. It makes me sad that Yoon Hye Jin is hurting others how she was hurt in the past. Even making Hong Doo Shik test to prove he could get into a top college. I know it turned into the cutest moment. Still it was irksome. All of our other couples are having a grand time of it too. Jang Yeong Guk and Yeo Hwa Jeong are in an epic love triangle that even our LEADS joke about. It makes me wonder if Yeo Hwa Jeong is the one that wanted the divorce. Just a vibe I've got. After a hilarious moment with Choi Eun Chul and Pyo Mi Seon we find out that they're not each other's type either. But that doesn't mean they can't be. They both clearly like one another. There's clearly going to be a Bromance between Hong Doo Shik and Ji Sung Hyun. Ji Sung Hyun is in Yoon Hye Jin's flashback so June is not going to be the second lead. Instead it's gonna be Ji Sung Hyun. So that will be interesting. You can already see both male leads like one another. So it's cute. Where Ji Sung Hyun and Yoon Hye Jin haven't had actual screen time together I'm not sure how they're gonna sell him as another love interest. I'm already firmly on board team Hong Doo Shik!! Most importantly is that amazing ending. When the rain frolicking triggers memories for Yoon Hye Jin that she remembers kissing Hong Doo Shik. She initiated it. Then we're brought to a flashback of Hong Doo Shik. He's suffering nightmares and I'm beyond curious what it's from. The bloody hand . . . he wakes up next to his leading lady with a cute smile. Why isn't he being more honest with himself? It's cruel. Maybe something in his past holding him back . . . .I feel like he would just go for the lady he's interested in.

OM-Dramas! That boy ran! He ran barefooted to get to his woman!! I love it when dramas add these little sweet POVs from the main leads. So we can get the full story. Not to mention that I think Yoon Hye Jin let herself get drunk around Hong Doo Shik. They likes each other. I love that Pyo Mi Seon [Hye Jin's best friend] is totally aware that Yoon Hye Jin is interested in Hong Doo Shik, but she knows her friend well enough not to say it out loud. Yoon Hye Jin is a warrior! She was not having that sexual harassment happen to her best friend, let alone having him talk smack about her. I also like the highlight on woman's rights in Korea. Talking about the special unit. I've hit drama gold here! I am so invested in all the couples. I'm truly fascinated with why Jang Yeong Guk and Yeo Hwa Jeong broke up. Espeically since they're hinting at one another that they maybe miss each other. Yeo Hwa Jeong even cooked more food for the man. Until his first love shows up. Seeing her so sad in the kitchen was hard. My poor girl. Pyo Mi Seon has been so cute about her crush on Choi Eun Chul [Police substation's constable]. It made me sad that she was so jittery after the sexual harassment, but I think Choi Eun Chul really handled it well. He's clearly into her too! So cute!!!!!!!!Wait, enter June? I wasn't sure if he'd really show up. Cause I wasn't sure how it would work into the writing. Wow, though. To come in at the end of episode 4. He's clearly going to be second lead. It was so cute how Yoon Hye Jin and the bratty coffee girl bonded over their love for June. So sweet. Now, that ending? Did something happen? I feel like Hong Doo Shik would never do something. That's why she trusted him to get drunk around. This whole episode is so awesome! I feel like it's turning into such a wonderful feel good drama!!!!! Episode 4 is here. Yeah, I'm in.

Prickly and cold on the outside, but warm on the inside. I have to admit I'm not fond of Yoon Hye Jin always saying such mean things. I get it. She says the first thing she is thinking instead of taking a different look at it. I've been known to do that too, but I always try not to. Yoon Hye Jin is definitely making me self reflect a bit more on whether I do that more often than I think. Because even Hong Doo Shik finally admits that he has preconceived notions about Yoon Hye Jin. This is one of those episodes where so much happens! Yoon Hye Jin goes to a dentist type convention and I have to say it must be exhausting to go to! It's like all they want to do is brag about themselves and put each other down. Instead of celebrating their wins. Poor, girl. It was fun seeing her fashion show. I should have become a dentist! I also wasn't expecting to see a certain shoe scene already. It was one of the things that instagram spammed me with that added this drama to my must see list! In fact, this drama wasn't really on my radar until instagram. So maybe not so much wasted time. Huh? It was such a great episode to see the residents and the town more. We're getting to know everyone better. Especially our leads. I'm super worried about Hong Doo Shik! What is it that he has? Is it cancer? I'm nervous!!!!! This drama is still rocking the feel good vibes and it's just the perfect thing to keep me smiling while I'm rocking my sick day! Yep. I don't need my four episode rule. I'm a gonna watch this cute little drama all the way to the end!

This episode was the king of second hand embarrassment. Yoon Hye Jin is rude to her new neighbors thoughtlessly saying things and looking down on the countryside town and people. Despite her seeing the charm of her new home that made her want to stay. Oh, lord. And then one of my least favorite tropes happens. Yoon Hye Jin accidentally gets broadcasted talking down about the ex-singer, Oh Chun Jae. Oh Chun Jae is basically a golden retriever and it's so sad to think anyone would hurt him. Yoon Hye Jin doesn't even think about addressing all the mean she spread and only realizes how bad it is when no one shows up for the opening of her Dentistry. She doesn't even mention in to her bestfriend who decides to move there after a bad break up. Which I'm so happy for some Womance!!!! Female friendship in dramas is my favorite! Hong Doo Shik ends up helping Yoon Hye Jin out. We see what a tradesmen Hong Doo Shik is. When you live in a small town people do learn how to do everything. It's just the way of it, and something I've always admired. Yoon Hye Jin also has to learn some of the older thought processes in living in such a small community. Especially with older judgey people. I live in a small town and I know that well. Especially if you're kind of an outsider because you don't conform to their beliefs. There is still plenty of charm in this episode. Not to mention we're already getting to see how Yoon Hye Jin and Hong Doo Shik's paths crossed when they were younger. So cute!!! I love it when this trope is done well in dramas, especially K-dramas!!!! I hope there's more. In their case it was that fateful day at the beach when they were children! >_< I don't even think I have to wait for episode 4 to say I am in to this drama and will probably just keep going.

This was a very well done first episode. I already have a feel for the main leads! I already feel like they're my friends and I understand how they tick. Yoon Hye Jin says she doesn't want to help or deal with people's problems, but she does want to help. She loves it and she doesn't want her patients to have to deal with huge bills they can't afford. She also can't abide a bully. And so much more. I adore her, even if she screams at a cricket. Hong Doo Shik clearly takes care of everyone in his town as Chief Hong. He's a jack of all trades it seems and I wonder if he's more . . . like the towns official mayor or something? Yoon Hye Jin lost her mom young and I think is looking for that family connection. It broke my heart hearing her dad's new wife tell him he's cold. Then once he realized that she was calling on her mother's birthday he didn't reach back. Hong Doo Shik lost his dad young, and I'm assuming his mom wasn't in the picture. There's more there. The town and it's residents are clearly going to be major characters and I already love what we're shown. It feels a lot like the setup for the gown and people in Gilmore Girls. I'm super excited to get to know everyone better. Not to mention the town is so beautiful. The scenery!!! I will say I was super disappointed in Yoon Hye Jin for leaving her super expensive shoes alone on the beach. Hong Do Shik might be on to something. She is a bit clueless. Or maybe doesn't always think things through. Like the fact that her phone had already started working! Well I'm in! I can't wait!

So I had a slip of the brain and thought there was 5 more episodes to go!!! LOL! My mind was racing and thinking that this drama was gonna lose steam. Oops. I have noticed quite a few more dramas going for 12 episodes instead of 16 or 20. Which is good. So the most important question did it end well? Yes!Every character was addressed and I think karma was served. I love a tight ending. Better yet an HEA one. One that lets us see full circle how much the FL and ML have fallen for each other. So good!!!! I enjoyed this drama so much for what it was and appreciated the intense ending, laughs, and all the sweet and beautiful moments. Yeah, it was a bit choppy, but that's okay. I didn't want to compare use my episode reviews to compare this to Marry My Husband. But honestly Marry My Husband story and plot wise is superior. (Which I'll probably break down more in my official overall review.) However, I loved Perfect Marriage Revenge for what it was and what it brought to the table. Skinship! JK. Kind of.

Finally!!! Finally Xing Yun knows about it all! This is why Xia Ke should have just told Xing Yun the truth!!! Keeping secrets to protect her was the stupidest thing ever. Chu Nan was even more despicable than I had imagined!!! Honestly I don't think I could ever cheer him on. Yao Qing and her son deserve better. So much better. To seriously hurt an innocent girl. Especially someone as innocent as Xing Yun. I don't care that he said he was having some thoughts. The fact that he just kept leading her on, while stalking another woman! Not to mention having her try on wedding dresses while saying he wasn't pressuring her. This was a pretty cute episode where Xia Ke actually did a lot of good things. Adorable and sweet things! Things that were softening me to this man child. Just sadly he ruined it all by not telling Xing Yun the truth. I get that they are both super inexperienced. Props to Xing Yun for helping out her fellow woman on her period! Bravo.

Okay. Wow things are really moving!! I was so surprised how things went down with Jung Hye. Like she was defeated so easily. I mean she wasn't, but it wrapped up swiftly. Yoo Ra's arc is definitely something. Bravo. Though towards the end of the episode I was so surprised with the jump and where they're were at. I'm happy that Do Guk finally has to admit that he time traveled as well, but it felt so forced and anticlimactic. It was also interesting that Yi Joo finally decided to take them both to the fortunateller to see what they need to do about the time travel. So there was that. It felt weird how it went down with Jung Hye, but also Jung Wook. It's odd. Especially now that Jung Wook may have kidnapped Yi Joo. I'm worried that this is episode 11 and there's still 5 left. I'm really confused how the story is gonna go forward. I'm nervous!!! That said: Skinship!!!!! Kissing! Yah!

I'm still very much enjoying this drama. I'll say that Marry My Husband is definitely the better of the two, but only because I feel like Perfect Marriage Revenge drops characters and plots. Like we're done with Se Hyeok and his family. They're gone! Not to mention that we're not getting any info on the time travel. Like Yi Joo is kind of worried about it, but not enough. I guess though this time travel is just easy breezy. Overall a lot happens and the plots are piling up. I just can't believe that Yi Joo makes herself such an easy target! Eyeroll!

It must of been in the back of Yi Joo's mind that Jung Hye, EVIL MOTHER, couldn't have been that evil. However, realizing that Jung Hye attempted to kill her 2 times was a reality destroyer. To also realize the extent of it was crazy. Not to mention my over plotting in the last episode was 100% right! Dang I'm good. ^_-This episode kept it coming. The battles. The constant jockeying for position. This is a battle between Yi Joo and Jung Hye is serious business. It's intense and I'm here for it! I'm very proud of Grandfather Han Woon Jae! Not to mention that Kim Jae Won must truly be on Yi Joo's side. I feel like there's a reveal there. Or should be. Now can I have a moment of awe and appreciation for Kim Jae Won. The man is fine and I feel like he's going to be getting ML in another drama soon. That end of the episode walk in was life. Things are really coming to a head. With this much plotting a drama can easily lose itself. I'm so happy that the pacing has been perfect and the writers don't forget to give us little perfect moments with Yi Joo and Do Guk. I'm so happy with this drama. And now I'm super curious what came first. Perfect Marriage Revenge or Marry My Husband. Just because I've enjoyed both so much.

This episode was a bit more sluggish for me. Simply because there's a lot to cover, but I thought Yi Joo got to cocky. Which seemed odd because the baddies got in some good punches. I'm happy that she seems to accept that she's falling in love with Do Guk. Though I can't believe she doesn't believe that he loves her, but I guess I can. Everyone who should have loved her unconditionally has betrayed her. But even she can't deny being able to eat Do Guk cooking with complete faith and trust. The evil mom did get the upper hand where Yi Joo was trying to gain control of the company it's odd that Kim Jae Won [Jung Hye's secretary] is still firmly on her side. I thought Jae Won would go straight to evil mom or at least be pretending to help Yi Joo. Then surprise betray her. Either way this episode had a lot to unpack. I also think the chef has a bigger connection than all this. I'm wondering if I missed out on who Yi Joo's real mom is. I feel like it's gonna be the cook. However, I wonder if the cook is just the woman who supposedly died in the fire and that the EVIL MOTHER had a hand in that and was gunning for Yi Joo's dad from the get go. Imagine all of this as one gaint scheme are something. Though I think I'm going way too far. Just me seeing a huge big plot cause I like it crazy like that. To the EVIL MOTHER. Well played. Though poor Yoo Ra is just a silly little fool. Her plans backfired fast! I have to give props to Se Hyeok for stepping up. Though sadly only when he realized that Yoo Ra used and betrayed him, not to mention she showed him her true colors but he still had to see that nail in the coffin. I think Yoo Ra burned herself good.
