good lord i think i might be dropping this at episode 13 LOL everyone is just SO intensely unlikeable, like there's probably one one or two characters i can tolerate?? and the shrill yelling every episode omg i don't think i can endure another season of this before seeing their downfall
this truly is a makjang, the plot throws logic completely out the window so if you're into that, you're in for a ride haha
I just finished episode 34! I really do love this drama and think it's worth watching just for the first 34 episodes. It had a full cast of characters that you really feel yourself rooting for, a power couple, and an amazing OST. I don't know if I'll ever finish the last 6 but I've enjoyed what I've watched so far and don't really want to taint my impression of the first 34.
Some minor nitpicks for me would be the dead fish kisses (and having watched none of LSS or LYN's dramas before, not sure who this is on...), princess YY when she tries to act tough because it was wholly unconvincing for me (a combination of her intonation and youthful face), and how at least 3/4 of the drama is focused on one thing, which is their trip to save the king.
Overall though, I pretty much loved everything else, and I'm a huge fan of the friendships between the characters. No regrets in watching haha.
i'm legit crying in episode 29 ;____; the friendship between xue ning and the princess is unbeatable
also it enrages me how the prince made xue hui a concubine and she couldn't even refuse, like she trusted you and went against her family to go to the consort selection and you just betrayed her like that??? lmao. also extremely selfish of him when he could have just not chosen her for anything at all and discussed it with her at a later date and asked whether she even WANTED to be a concubine, but no, he did it in front of everyone and she had absolutely no choice but to accept.
i'm on episode 9 at the moment and i'm not really feeling it ... the constant back and forth flashbacks plus the constant narration of inner thoughts (always telling instead of showing) is not doing it for me and i am 100% not buying ZLH'S character atm lol. i heard it gets better maybe 12-15 episodes in so fingers crossed
oh god i'm on episode 17 and i feel SO BAD for jiu-er/LTG like my heart is literally aching for him ;_____; PLSSS i literally just want ruyi to meet him again

i'm so glad i decided to watch this despite my misgivings about the ending because there is nothing better than a good wuxia and this is honestly SO good. also, love the fact that the ML and FL are similar in ages irl and we get a mature relationship from the both of them :')
Cute, sweet…easy to watch with relatively little angst. For some reason I lost a lot of interest about half…
i felt the same haha i loved the beginning half but it took me ages to finish the last couple of eps .... overall, a sweet feel good, coming of age drama but i definitely feel they could have shortened it a bit
