rly loved PSH doing more of these kinds of roles, and loved how the FL never lost her ruthlessness towards the bad guys

drama was enjoyable, i could have honestly done without the romance (i personally didn't feel the chemistry and good lord.... that awkward kiss lol) and amount of episodes wasn't too long or short

i'm on episode 1 of the last 5 episodes and wtf is this plot lol absolutely ridiculous

unfortunately not even cheng yi can save a mediocre script ... but i think this would have been fine and interesting if this was your first xianxia

i regret watching last episode bc now there's a cliffhanger and i gotta wait over 3 days smh don't be like me

also want to shake XY for assuming she knows what CX wants and treating him like an emotionless robot

AND!! it's ridiculous how A Nian is leading an army with zero prior experience and minimal knowledge, but is somehow able to instantly gain victory and also win over the army

to be fair, i still have around 8 episodes to go and i genuinely did want to like cang xuan, but right now, with his goal of being king, there is no way he can put her first - this man even had to get knocked out by his underlings bc they couldn't risk him getting hurt. he got revenge for her, well - okay, but i don't believe the other two wouldn't have done the same thing. me saying he's the most useless ML is due to the fact that the drama is prioritizing scenes between the other two and he always seems to come AFTER something has already happened to XY. tushan jing isn't without his issues (hate his indecisiveness and he clearly isn't cunning enough against his brother) but he isn't useless either and without his help, cang xuan couldn't have gotten to where he's at.

tldr i'm just not one for repressed MLs lol but like i said, i'm not finished the drama yet so cang xuan rly needs to convince me that he loves xiao yao enough to stop using her as some pawn on the way to his throne under the guise of him getting enough power so he can protect the ppl he loves.

i know! i really don't get why they have to add these super unrealistic scenes when they could have acted out the superiority of one song over the other by other (realistic) means ... i have a tiny gripe on the production though tbh like the way some scenes are shot are rly weird and dizzying with the super quick zoom ins/zoom outs/face close up transitions

oh man i thought it was too at first but then they had to make it look so real by literally brushing butterflies off their shoulder and that bright light shining down at them that they were all looking at ... my problem was that nothing indicated to me that it wasn't NOT real other than the fact that .. well .. this isn't a xianxia lol
