tbh by the end of the drama i really feel the second leads really overtook the main leads in terms of emotional impact and chemistry

honestly... i think the plot and humour rly fell off after around episode 34 or so
also i know the emperor is meant to be portrayed as someone dumb and inexperienced but the way they tried to make his whole character humorous was overkill and just not funny imo

the shots of her butchering a pig while slicing into lord changxin was chefs kiss

i'm so glad that TXW is getting more attention because she is literally giving a masterclass in acting for this drama

the way she helped even the people that constantly talked down to her and they in turn ended up protecting her and her loved ones

absolutely LOVED the first episode, it was such a good mix of effortless humour and earnestness. can already feel the chemistry & both are fantastic actors ... now i gotta pace myself so i don't end up binge watching 10 episodes a day
