On 16th July, Revenged Love hit a 9.0 — becoming the highest-rated BL ever on MDL, topping over 700+ BL titles. Then…
yeah, i saw when it hit 9.0 and then when the score suddenly just dropped drastically :( it's definitely from people who have probably never watched an ep ranking it a 1/10. i hope that once it's done airing, a new wave of people (i know a ton are waiting for it to finish airing first) can honestly rate it so that this show can get what it deserves :(
i do hope the ratings for this show go up after it's done airing ... we're 20/24 eps in and i can confidently say that this is one of the best of its genre and based on the novel, it'll be a happy ending.
it speaks a lot to the plot, acting, cinematography, music, etc that it's so talked about after every episode (like i've seen so many deep dives and analyses for each character lol). also, the chemistry between the main leads (though to be honest... everyone in the core four has potential) is literally unmatched.
watched 6 episodes so far and overall, i think i'm liking it. the main gripe i have is that it just seems a bit rushed and the lack of sufficient background story makes me feel disconnected to the FL ... i don't know enough about her and what she's suffered/endured all those years by herself in those early years to feel enough of an emotional impact when she says she wants revenge/reclaim what was taken from her.
chemistry is definitely there. the episodes are fast-paced which tbh, i don't know if this is a good or bad thing yet. i want more background on the characters, but at the same time, i don't want them to drag on the story. i didn't much like the beginning episodes where the editing of the fight scenes made everything look kinda corny, but the later episodes are much better for me so i'm hoping that keeps up!
my problem is having high expectations because i waited for this drama to air for so long lol.
ok ill be honest ... i expected a lot from this drama due to all the hype but it just wasn't my thing. while i love the ost and i'm perfectly okay with the main leads, i'm 20 episodes in and the plot is just ... not compelling. it's just there lol. i don't feel much for any of the characters, good or bad ... and i still have 16 more episodes to go haha. i'll probably finish it up but right now, it's more of a background show for me ............
do you guys bring other actors' or actresses' personal lives into the comment section of mdl for other dramas too or do y'all just do it for this one lol
i loved part 1 of this drama because it felt so different from other dramas but i don't know how i feel about part 2... it feels more formulaic and also a bit preachy?? the villains are almost cartoonish in their words and actions and some scenes are just straight up ridiculous and fantastical. chemistry between the leads was a+ though but the plot is definitely lacking for me ;___; had the same issue with lost you forever which also had a part 2 sigh
some of y'all are so annoying omg i can't even. WHY does it matter whether the NC scene was edited or not. do y'all go looking for NC scenes in your BG dramas as well?? some of you are acting like the show is completely unwatchable bc it's not explicit enough for you. there are plenty of other shows out there for you if that's what you're looking for lol. constructive criticism on the storyline or editing etc is fine but smh nitpicking on something like this just seems so crass. god forbid we just watch something for the plot or for the chemistry...
why are some people here even judging how explicit a NC scene is LOL this is first and foremost a drama ??? if you're complaining about wanting something more explicit maybe... watch something else lmao
i was actually really pleased with how the scene was done and their convo after was so so so sweet :'( from their constant push/pull to their growing intimacy ... we getting there fam
