I like how until now they are sticking to what it means for a mortal to love a spirit. They don't reduce her to "just a girl" or forget what it means to live for centuries, or for that matter, what it means to be mortal

I find it amusing that for Duan Xu, this spirit love affair is a serious thing but He Si Mu's attendants just take it for granted that he is one of their queen's many dalliances.

The right and left hand are so funny with their bickering, like tom and jerry 🤣🤌
I know the show doesn't mean it that way but THEY have lots of chemistry IMO.

what i noticed is as soon as he knew she was sovereign, this 'absoluteness' about her, he knew better than to…
That's a funny thought. "I may be a general, assassin and a badass in human terms, but I'll never be a mysterious tough guy to an ancient powerful spirit. May as well go all out as an adoring fanboy instead"

Episose 12 was entertaining but I wish the general would not lay it on so thick with his pining after He Si Mu. Not the actors fault but... how about a little bit of subtlety in the dialogue? Or a bit of understatement...?

First yall complain there’s no chemistry, now you complain it’s too lovey dovey 🙄…
Chemistry and simplistic lovey doveyness are not remotely the same thing: Chemistry is a thing that cannot be explained. You can only feel it. But also I wasn't complaining about the chemisty and I'm not yall

*sigh* Come episode 11 and I am bored. There is no tension, no question open between them. No edge with these edgy characters. Only lovy-dovyness. The hunt seems already over

No - he likes her because she is pretty thats it... and he is kinda bored
I don't love the simp stuff either. Even though it's supposed to cater to women. It has to be for teens or early twenties or something, not grown up women I guess? Generally, it never appealed to me and it has become so extreme and predictable these days. Yawn-worthy

Yeah. I watch because I enjoy powerful female leads, basically. But everything is mediocre if we're being honest. Like, about 7-10 years ago, Cdrama was absolute cinema compared to now....

Yeah, you can look at it that way... But with the quality of Cdrama these days, if you look at it that way, you can basically never enjoy any Cdrama romance. You gotta add some fantasizing of your own...

Anyone else feel like he is into her BECAUSE she is a cold, dangerous, mysterious spirit lol? Even if he occssionally acts like sweet romance. Like, she is the kind of dangerous gamble he likes

What do you feel is currently missing or frustrating in the Cdrama watching experience? Not just about the dramas…
Personally, I misss episode-by episode discussion. We are all here in one entry for the entire show, the older comments about the first episodes disappearing down into the past lol.

She told him she could grant any wish, and he still refused. Because Duan Xu has always been the kind to rely…
I assumed that he refused to ask for a wish because a) he knew she would save him anyway, and b) because he did not want the relationship with her to be on transactional footing... and almost a bit because he wanted to prove to her that she was incapable of letting him die.

I like the comment: "Plum blossoms are a fleeting delight, pine and cypress stay evergreen." And then he excuses himself. Very... immortal spirit

And I gotta say (maybe it says something about me lol), but I like the ML's acting better when he looks wounded than when he acts badass. That actually happens with a number of Chinese actors. The badass look always seems poser and fake but many are good at the exhausted look, like ML here during and after the duel with Fifteen. Maybe because the badass look is so cringely standardised and the exhausted look leaves some freedom for genuine acting?

I don't always love Dilraba, but here she is great. Her tall, cool, regal beauty matches perfectly for the role and even her - honestly - slightly expressionless face. She is an actress to play a Spirit Queen

The problem with scripts like this is, as soon as a so called "side character" and "villain" become male and female lead, all the cliches and unfair cheats that we are tired of immediately transfer to them. The story becomes exactly the same

Title Glory
RSB hit her sister to prove that she will tolerate her sisters behavior as claimed by the tea workers. Her sister…
Right and there is something misogynist in the portrayal of that sister as an utterly "insufferable idiotic woman who needs whipping"
