Episode 21 - I like how ML simply, straightforwardly says "I'm not a bad person". Nice to see self respect from that kind of "half monster" main character....
I lost interest at Episode 16, so am watching the rest of it on 2x speed just to get through it (I can speedread…
It was so disappointing. They had a good thing going with the romance which was the main dish anyway, and then kind of ruined it with endless circular plotting with the boring side characters in the family and also by oddly deflating the female lead (and somewhat the male lead) into... like, idling in their interactions....
I actually thought sometime back that ZKY would have made a better FL. I mean this one’s not bad as it’s my…
I've noticed that as well, bit IMO part of the problem is also that female characters are often badly written. Someone on here described how this FL is shifted this way and that in order to enable the plot... that is very common in Cdrama in general and then reads as inconsistent and unbelievable. Also, if you rarely talk, like the ML here, you can not really annoy people... or reveal an unbelievable psychology. Not that that is good writing but its maybe a factor. So yeah, audiences give MLs a pass but also Cdramas often just have badly written female leads, in my view
Absolute junk. He can beat everyone. Does not even struggle...does not get hirt. One man can destroy everyone…
I gotta say, I also don't love the Cdrama trope of "ML just curb stomps everyone bang bang bang". Supposedly it makes him look cool. But it makes for such boring battles. And such low stakes... its neither courage nor sacrifice to fight battles when you know you wipe the floor with everyone you meet.
whenever there are tropes about self claimed righteous cultivation sects and all they do is kill people..kill…
Honestly, at this point the trope "righteous sect being secretly terrible" has been done so often, it would be surprising and refreshing if one turned out to be good!
Senior Bai looks so creepy in that getup with the black clothes and mascara, I find it rough that FL treats him as a good friend/potential love interest. But the scenes of rivalry between ML and him are funny.
Lol, ML does not have much luck with the human kids he fostered. So far two of them have become morally corrupt. Maybe he should ask himself if he is doing something wrong
Somehow, this started getting interesting from episode 9... now in 11 I am really engaged. Maybe I was also too impatient and skipped too much. No one of the side characters interested me, but Lotus guy and sword lady actually are interesting now. Never seen such a "romantic" setup yet, his mentality is really unusual
well when ya do the spice overload in ep 1, and then back it off a lot and start over, that always deflates a…
Right? Does it ever deflate the romance... Plus, I always lose a bit of respect for the characters. Not for making out... But for making out with a unknown rando you just met in enemy territory or something? Come on
Hm. Episode 7 and 8 were a little slow. I guess they knew what they were doing, releasing the first six episodes together. I hope this means that they have a grip on their storytelling and the next episodes will be faster again, after establishing their villain
Edit: Oh maybe she is no fool
