I thought in the show they have left it to audiences imagination rather than being clear about it. Just my thinking I may have missed something because things turn rather sad turn again right after the entire scene takes place.

They followed the novel very closely the main novel ends where they win national championships and there are additional chapters where they go abroad for international competition. But just reading the novel and watching the show the changes they have made I am not sure how appropriate or reasonable it would be to include those chapters in because in one of the chapters she gets panicked that she is pregnant. There relationship is much more intimate/physical and was definitely rated R vs the show.

Also novel is not fluffy and for mature audience I would say it's more rated R while the show is definitely for a wider range of audience and more feel good cute love story. It would be weird to show ML smoking in a show like that.

Exactly nobody is perfect there is always room for improvement and pointing out those flaws can be beneficial if conversed in respectful manner. Its specially hard for actors to portray a role adapted from a novel/manga since the audiences already build a certain expectation and perceive it according to their imagination and sometimes even refined actors fail to meet that expectations because they simply don't fit that role. FL here is particularly new to acting and have a lot of room to improve also taking characteristic of 19 years and changing the age to 24 is not fair to the story. Btw novel is not perfect either whatever of it I read I can point flaws but that's a different story.

I have noticed this idol turn actors fanbase doesn't accept criticism really well. I don't really listen to kpop or Cpop so when I watch a show I could care less who is playing the role for me they are actor/actress and I am only judging them based on actions nothing else they can be great singer or dancer but doesn't mean they are great actors as well. FL here needs to improve her skill that's not a troll it doesn't help her case that she is paired with such a fab actor it shows it a little more areas that needs improvement and she isn't the worst that I have seen hopefully she will improve with time. Btw FL from Ancient Love Poetry is a fabulous actress but people commenting on her looks and calling her ugly is trolling her personally that's unacceptable but saying she lacked in acting that's fine but nobody can say a word about her acting as she is amazing and owns the screen everytime she shows up and fits the character.

So Qinmu is not real Bai Jue a fake who was created by Bai Jue himself. Houchi is in love with fake BJ and I saw a promo that they get married and have a child so what's that all about. And why did BJ created Qinmu anyway? (Sorry too many questions but as much as I am enjoying the show I always get confused with this type of Chinese drama genre as there is too much happening)

Completely understand I do feel she needs to work on her acting not just Xu Kai the entire team is doing a fabulous job and people need to calm down there is a difference betweens internet troll and constructive criticism. I feel your comments are constructive criticism you can like a show/character but can still have opinion about it and that doesn't necessary mean you are a hater. Constructive criticism helps the writer/director/actor to only improve you can't just praise someone because you like them. There are many actors/actresses I adore but at the same time there are several roles they have played that I dislike doesn't mean I don't like them. Also going back to the book her character was 19 she was just out of high school and wasn't mature enough to deal with the world. While in the show she is 24 not even 22 LSC mentions it once she was fighting with his brother. That's a big difference between 19 and 24 imagine starting college people are inexperienced and immature especially if you have lived an shelter life while at 24 you are done with college probably working much more experienced. I think that's where the show messed up they kept the same characteristics but changed the age honestly if you haven't grown up to be little mature after college it is little surprising. The other thing about boyfriend her ex was supposedly her high school sweetheart but in the show he is supposed to be high school sweetheart leading to college where they broke up.

Officially giving up on this been waiting for too long all my anticipation/excitement has died down with all the politicis stopping the release of the show as much as I love the cast I can't do this to myself :(

Can't agree more I honestly started watching with high expectations and hoped it would get better every episode but unfortunately it didn't as nothing really got resolved and just hoping for some clarity I am too deep into the sink hole to stop watching. I need some sort of conclusion and even if they just pile it in 1 episode I am okay because it seems like I have seen the same episode 14 times with only one new scene. The writer just didn't think this one through. Btw people have bashed ML for being rude but the FL got a pass I think her character is a mess as well. If someone is this annoying/clingy that psychopathic behavior I would get a restraining order against them let alone romance. FL on one side shows she is confident, strong and independent and on otherside shows no dignity at all

Oh there are several things wrong with it someone mentioned dubbing and I totally agree sometimes if a person is not expressive the way a certain person talks shows that emotions but the dubbing for FL is definitely working against her in this case

Everyone is talking about how Lan is an asshole I agree 100% but that being said Mook can't be ignore she is a complete psychopath as well she knows a guy doesn't like her she marries him okay she had to do it for her family but why is she sexually harassing him. If it's wrong for a man it's the same for a woman as well they both need therapy and honestly her behavior is straight out creepy if you marry someone forcefully and like them they don't have to like you back and all the harrassment from both side is just bizarre. This show is a mess I think writer copied/pasted all the possible cliches and made a story and didn't even bother reading it loud to themselves.
