You are right. For Tong Yao character, Shen Yue would've be better choice.

Oh I don't think Shen Yu is that great of an actress I just think she fit the physical description better. I am sure there are definitely better actresses who could have fit the role better. What I am trying to say is that when production team selects an actor/actress who doesn't satisfies physical description better they tend to go for someone who is a great actor/actress and own the role with there acting that those characteristics don't matter anymore. I have not completely read the novel either just intial few chapters as I don't really understanding gaming that much but I can definitely tell a good vs bad actor. Unfortunately, I have seen shows from all around the world and some great performances that everytime her scenes come I just hope it gets better in next scene.
Unpopular opinion FL is doing a terrible job and does not really fit.the character. It's disappointing because she neither fits the physical description of the character from novel. I understand sometimes when a show is based of a certain novel characters doesn't necessarily needs to be exact descriptions a good example of that is Steven Zhang for skate into love LIBY is suppose to be rather tall and muscular and I was skeptical when he was initially casted as I have never seen him act before but he owned that role and physical description from novel didn't matter anymore. On the other hand FL here can't act at all she really needs to improve as others are doing a great job. Just based on novel description Shen Yue would have been a better choice though I do think she herself have limited acting skills but still a better choice.
Finally, someone said it I also feel similar. Normally I would have dropped the show since FL's acting is terrible but Xu Kai and supporting cast is doing a good job. I am glad I am not the only one who feels FL does not fit the character and her acting is not up to par with rest of the cast. She does not fit the character at all I wonder what was going on in director's head when they selected her. Hope she improves :(

Well if that's the case no more thai shows for a while as no matter how much I like a ML I can't watch the series unless FL and story is there. I might explore Turkish shows as I have completely finished my Netflix recommendations.

Yeah me too fingers crossed I have never watched her shows either. I just guessed since it was odd for her to he present at the promotion while other weren't. I noticed with thai series they make these slow transition to introduce the show leads.

I am just making my own theories since there hasn't been any announcements regarding new project and I have seen similar pattern with many Korean actors when they enlist. I see other actors have 3-4 shows lined up while he has only GLT which I am 100% sure I will skip. I saw few clips of rak nakra with him and taew and they had 0 chemistry she was like just there. It possibly can't be the case that only project doe 2020 and 2021 is GLT. I understand covid pushed things around but my assumptions are based on others which you may know better than I do.
I was planning to watch a Mik show and was looking around for some recommendations and saw that apparantly Mik did military service. As I am familiar with some of my favorite korean actors being away from screen for some time to do mandatory military service I googled and found even Thailand has mandatory military service. Can a pending military service be the possible reason for his new project not being announced? Since GLT is the only current project he is working on that was supposedly to be shot in 2020 but got delayed due to covid.

I neither speak Vietnamese or thai but after reading the novel few times it made sense to me and I tried fixing translation to make it better sense. I have only done introduction if other's contribute we can fix it.
