I dropped a lot of the same dramas on your list. To My Shore and Bangkok Boy has that toxic lead that I like in my dramas so I had to keep them on my list. The Proper Way to Write Love is not much of a time commitment and it does start slow but gets better with each episode. The last episode is really great.
Up until the breakup it’s a 100/10 that’s how good it is. It felt extremely high quality, truly modern and…
I agree with all of what you wrote. The ethnic line of clothing just seemed out of left field. I was disappointed she didn’t stay with hosting television shows or being a news anchor. Being a news anchor was her childhood dream and she worked so very hard on that cooking show before she even met him. I hated that she had to leave that dream behind and quit. She was stylish and classy and those clothes were just not good. Whoever thought to put the doctor SML in that white flower embroidered blouse with the tassels should give up their pay. That poor actor looked terrible in that.
I only want Season 2 if they use the same bad writers, directors, low budget, and editors. This dramas only brilliance is its celebrated mediocrity. They also need to use the same plant wrangler. If I don’t see another potted plant miraculously slide out of frame in Season 2, I will be greatly disappointed. Please don’t change a thing. It can easily go from “so bad it’s entertaining,” to “just bad.”
Happy New Year! Another great quiz. I like these cover challenges. Thai BL gets me every time. Admittedly I have only watched about half of these and it took me at least 10 times to pass it. 😂 I stuck with it until the end. Looking forward to more of your quizzes in 2026. Thanks!
Can't hold your liquor, Jade? Or were you pretending that you couldn't? 🤔 Maybe it's me, but I get the feeling…
Oh for certain he was pretending but why? Yes, it gave him an opening to flirt shamelessly but I also think Jade was testing him, seeing if he can get him to let his guard down. These guys have been testing each other from their very first meeting. Sizing each other up.
I want to talk about the inclusion of the scene of Genichi and Saku trying to register their marriage. I loved that they added this scene so much. To me this is a powerful statement that was handled with great care. Genichi and Saku knew what the outcome would be but tried anyway. As a viewer, it’s truly heartbreaking to know the outcome and watch it play out on the screen. Yet, in this scene it mentions that their efforts would be recorded. It would be recorded and documented that they tried to register. Perhaps this will lead more and more couples in the real world to actually try to register so they can be recorded too. That’s the power of the entertainment industry. It has the ability to provoke thought, provoke change. Viva revolution!
Okay, I have completed this strange little drama that has had me confused from the start. I get that it is endearing and full of special moments but I also feel like something is “off.” It’s hard to describe but the two male leads together are just cringe. It’s not even the age gap. It’s the total lack of chemistry and overall weirdness in the way the characters act. Their behavior makes them seem mentally stunted. I don’t see any genuine affection from them for each other. They just don’t seem like a believable couple to me. I see that their relationship is centered on companionship than romantic love but something still seems off, With that being said their is still much to like about this bizarre little drama.
I love the found family storyline so much better than the strange zero chemistry love story. I love the chemistry between Hatano and Genichi and that she asked him to be her fake dad and he eagerly accepted and took the job seriously. This was actually my favorite relationship by far in the drama. I love how the landlady and Saku helped Hatano too. It takes a village.
Anyone else not enjoying this? I don’t look forward to the new episodes. I still can’t believe I have watched 10 episodes. I believe I reached the point of no return. The “I can’t drop it after the 10 hour commitment I spent on it, while only three episodes left.” I have a terrible time keeping my eyes open during each episode. Sorry, I can see from the comments many of you really like it. I’m just no longer interested.
This is what I don’t get in these Chinese Modern Romance workplace drama. The ML is always dressed in a fitted suit and they put the FL in trash clothes. I mean she is a lawyer and they have her wearing jeans to an out of town business meetings. She is constantly wear jeans and jean shirts when everyone else in the off is wearing a suit. No wonder she doesn’t get much respect. Most of these workplace dramas have the FL in very short shots. That just unprofessional.
After seeing the trailer for this I was super excited for this. The movie poster alone sizzles, but sadly I’m feeling let down. First the good. Love, love, love the two male leads. Loved their chemistry in this. Love the production value and top notch cinematography; Love the tension building, the kisses, the lighting, the music. So much to love so why didn’t I love this movie? To be honest I wasn’t loving the dancing. I felt everything with the ballroom dancing was pretentious and a bit boring and that was the focus of this movie. Admittedly the hip swaying lesson was fire but that’s about it. I didn’t feel any kind of excitement at the ending. The ending didn’t move me like it should have because the romance build up was barely there. 10Dance is a ballroom dancing movie with a bit of romance. I was wanting a romantic movie with a ballroom dancing setting. It didn’t meet my high expectations and that is why I felt let down. It’s not a bad movie. Like I said, it has lots to love. It just wasn’t the movie I expected or wanted.
This series is like that; they just change scenes out of nowhere and leave you very confused, but personally,…
In one of the early episodes he received a text message about him getting married soon. I kept wondering if they were ever going to mention it again and they did in the very last episode. The writing is just so bad.
I have to say, this last episode started very nice, with all the plants, but next, at the seeside, no more plants?…
“this last episode started very nice, with all the plants, but next, at the seaside, no more plants? So disappointing.” 😂😂😂 too funny. I’m going to miss those plants.
It finally ended!!!! this is one of the worst I have ever seen. Was there something relevant about the painkillers?…
I was thinking they were going to kill off Jae Hun at the last minute when I saw the pocket pain killers, but then I remembered that this drama doesn’t follow any coherent plot.
Ep 10 - Holyy diabetes, this ep was way too sweet. But on the bright side, we didn't have to suffer through another…
“No wonder, Jaehun likes the way Haejun eats bread. Apparently it's the only thing he can eat if he doesn't want to starve.” 😂😂😂 Hilarious.

Also, the loud stupid music was driving crazy. The kissing was strange. It was more like Jae Hun was gnawing on Hae Jun’s upper lip.

It had nice plants.
