There was nothing misleading in how TH wrote her story since Xiaoyao herself said 'it was the first time that Jing and her liked someone and they were bound to make mistakes' - she definitely meant that her first love is Jing.
I don't know why some are so keen to fight for second place for XL. The demon deserves better.
Xiangliu is already an interesting enough character. People don't have to be so mad that he is 'unlucky in love'. For him, to have met XY and had a chance to love her in his own way, was enough for him to have experienced what it means to love another person. Just like how he had affection for FFB's mother, and how he was loyal to his foster father.

XY took a few months to gain Hou's trust and eventually tricked him to give her that red fish core... but in the drama she succeeded like on the second try... Good thing S1 won all the awards there is to win, because S2 is really quite poorly adapted... sigh

XL closed off his heart to XY so she can't feel his pain, but he could feel her heartache over TSJ... Like I can't feel more sad for XL already...
