In ep 31 of novel, before her wedding to Fenglong, Xiao Yao made the ice crystal for XL as a last poison. It had…
Xiangliu will always make his decisions for maximum impact.
He didn't go earlier because he wanted Chishui and Chenrong families to fall out with Cangxuan over the humiliation of their Chief being left at the altar by XY. However, sadly for him and the Chenrong army, he overestimated Fenglong's feelings for Xiaoyao, and he underestimated Fenglong's loyalty towards Cangxuan. Cangxuan was able to solve that political crisis easily by awarding the clans with material things to appease them.
Episode 5 was stunning. Highlight for me was THAT scene. Itβs no wonder the color red has so much significance…
You actually find the wait romantic? It just looks to me that once again 'the sea is beneath her feet'. Literally. This time there was no need to worry if Shiqi will die or not. She was free to swim out to sea towards Xiangliu. She is equipped with her new evolved body. Xiaoyao won't drown.
Girl didn't even get her feet wet. Jing soaked all night waiting for her. Xiaoyao just sat there, waiting for 'destiny' that may come or not come. She can 'summon' Xiangliu to ask him to take her away. Just a sign for him. Knock her leg. She'd rather just sit there. Didn't even prick a finger.
Not much difference between getting ready to marry Fenglong, being that level of passive about her future with that attitude.
Trust me when its for true love, people get wet for each other in LYF. Literally.
Thatβs the situation, TSJ takes such a long time to investigate his childβs birth, and in the end he needed…
Its because he had no reason to think otherwise... but also its the drama editing issue... Uncle Lirong needed 3 years to borrow the time reversal lamp LOL
Maybe it was some fan service for yaoliu fans? Cus there wasn't something like this in novel
That scene was so awkward and out of place, much like the sudden love song by Xiangliu...
Now I really don't understand drama Xiangliu. Does he want Xiaoyao or not? The drama version of the man seemed really close to giving up his cause, compared to his novel counterpart. He even spent money on red robes and put it on for 'fun'?
In the novel Xiaoyao was in a white dress and she was still in a white dress in the leaked script. Guess at the last minute some folks decided fanservice was in order. Honestly if Xiaoyao was still in white and Xiangliu remained in white standing from his shell, the scene would still have been as bittersweet without that 'huh?' head-scratching moment of inexplicable wardrobe choice. If novel Xiaoyao had been feeling desperate for someone to come save her, this drama Xiaoyao now seemed desperate to get married to anyone who would come to get her before Fenglong's wedding.
I don't really see this scene as romantic at all.. in fact I feel bad for Xiangliu. The girl is dressed up looking like a bride, waiting by the sea, but she was just waiting passively for 'destiny' to arrive. It was something that can happen or not happen for her. He was not important enough for her to take the first step to go to him.
At least we will soon see Xiaoyao actively taking her destiny into her own hands and fight for her own happiness. But if the drama production team wanted this contrast... its rather poorly executed.
I believe its because Lirong clan is actually one of the clans closest to the Chenrong army. Back during the war,…
Hou really chose the wrong path and he decided to just carry on no matter what it cost him. I think he was never really happy even though he had a cute son...He couldn't love himself and so he can't love anyone else?
I don't think Jing's courage was an issue but how he chose to deal with the offenders with the information that was available to him. He thought he was partly at fault too, since he thought he really slept with ffyy. So now, he will take necessary steps. He may not step on others with his clout but he won't be taken advantage of either.
Xiaoyao suffered early in her childhood and I guess she gained enlightenment long ago about what it means to 'live' and how status, wealth or power is not really important to just be happy and content in life.
I believe its because Lirong clan is actually one of the clans closest to the Chenrong army. Back during the war,…
You totally get it!! π
What I love about Yaojing is while everyone else did not understand Jing's line of thought or choice of action, Xiaoyao always (mostly) did. Like he would rather make peace with his brother instead of going down the obvious revenge path, which Xiaoyao did not agree with but she understood him and respected his choices. I also love that XY didn't try to kill Hou on her own, with the 'I am doing this for your own good' kind of thinking we see so often in other stories.
Why is it a surprise that Jing couldn't tear himself away from the most lovely soul who can understand him for who he is, rather than what he was made to be?

Jing is a repressed character who had been 'sculpted to perfection' by his family and weighed down by clan expectations...
There is a part in the novel which will not show in the drama so its not a spoiler, but they were supposed to go camping and it was revealed that Tushan Jing owns some legendary spider pets that he gets them to weave a hammock for outdoor camping... He is a talented genius, but he is also a little quirky with no proper outlet lol
About making decision of surrender, Xiang Liu can only make decision for himself. He is not willing to surrender…
I think this is what the author is trying to get us to understand that in life, maybe there are 'bigger' things more important than living but I am like you, I still prefer less fighting and less 'pointless' deaths... Because when the Chenrong army refuse to surrender, the Xiyan soldiers who go to meet them in battle also lose their lives...
So I am also waiting to see if the story can finally show us what it is the Chenrong army are fighting for.
Today's quick post is about just how long Xiaoyao has been unable to forget her Ye Shiqi, who is now the married Tushan Jing.
Xiaoyao still crying over Jing, and telling Cangxuan she can't stop thinking about Shiqi in Ep2 was really sad... and if my math holds up, nearly 60 years have passed.
From the time she brought him home, their 6-7 years in Qingshui town; being apart until Cangxuan got to the Central plains, their short season of courtship in Chenrong manor, 37 years apart during their coma, breaking up in 3 months after their reunion; then about 10 years including Cangxuan's coronation and engagement to Fenglong...
Yaojing really have not spent that much time being together since their romance was underground... yet those times spent together was enough for her to miss him.
Its actually also about the same time as how long Cangxuan came to Qingshui town but his reunion with Xiaoyao was much later and its one year less for Xiangliu because they only met after Shiqi had recovered from his injuries which took about a year.
Everyone's like "Cang Xuan, she's your COUSIN" and he's like "yeah but she's my FIRST cousin."
In the olden days, marriage between cousins on the mother's side is actually really common. Partly due to the young ladies having very limited exposure to young men beyond that of their extended family, so 'falling for cousin so and so' is a common trope in many dramas.
However modern times most of us find the idea unacceptable now.

The way he ' oh I am coming down with something...'
Lanxiang betrayed Jing by spying for Tushan Hou in S1 and he still let her go home.
CX was being sooo obvious and he is still so clueless...
A good buddy is necessary for anyone to survive a breakup!
