Well, the poster is completely misleading this is a full fledged makjang from the first frame to the last. Mo Ah & Nam Goo are one of the worst pairings in daily makjang. It's strange when the support cast get better pairings. You got also the usual idiotic forgiveness accompanied by a lackluster ending so don't expect anything at all. Anyway, the verdict is... it's bad. It's a certified stinker.

that Min Joo killed So Yoon and it was brushed off very quickly with no real consequences. I w as expecting this to be the turning point for the FL to become vicious but she remained dunce. Pointless half-assed revenge.
The only possible way to be able to produce 140 episodes is through extremely improbable coincidences, absolute negative IQ characters and intense cartoonish overdramatization. Feels like a robbery in broad daylight to have this kind of ending/wrap-up after 140 episodes of numbness. I hope the cast got paid enough because even for them it must have been difficult to endure. The one thing that disappointed me the most over everything else is:
Apparently being a doctor is overrated. The parents (Jung Do & Choo Ja) had a great chemistry that really made the family alive. Doo Na chaotic behavior was a treat, although I didn't like her love story. I wish there was a better family dynamic that also included all the sisters since the other two sisters were kinda neglected outside their brief non-family related side story. All the love relationships sucked and all of them ended up being underdeveloped because there was no room for them since the drama heavily focus on the handful of scattered secrets which occupied the entire runtime. The drama had a big problem in tying loose threads most of which were neglected until the end which resulted in a rushed ending trying to tie all the loose threads quickly. Speaking of the ending, it kinda sucked and really rushed without much thought put into it. The drama had nice moments when it comes to "family" scenes but unfortunately it's lacking a lot in all of the other areas.
At first glance it seemed interesting with the impulse control disorder which quickly turned out to be a very poorly written plot device. Around mid way the disorder became whatever the writer wish it to be then it completely disappeared without any mention or cure as if it never happened despite being a major plot point at the beginning and part of the drama's dvertisement. Apparently it's easier to write a generic story-line instead of attempting something slightly different. Anyway, the drama had also an awful love story-line, both were mostly awkward and had no chemistry or whatsoever. The romance was only included out of obligation, might as well remove it.
The drama also had pacing issues whether it's regarding the main story or any of the side ones. The main story felt limited in the number of characters it involved, there were mainly 6 characters it was cycling through. There was a desperate need to include more characters to contribute to the main story. The support characters weren't given enough attention and most of their stories were cut short anyway. I low-key wanted to see more of the erratic behavior of Se Yeon's sister. Aside from the earlier parts, the drama didn't have anything interesting.
Well, the drama is a little bit different but ends up following the same footsteps of its melodrama predecessors,…
I wanted Choi Kyung Shin to lose Tae Woong out of spite and karma but unfortunately the drama is just too tame to even attempt that. The entire last 12 episodes were dedicated to her redemption and I was just not feeling it. Forgiveness should've never been an option. She killed both Ji Young's husband and son! Everyone brushed off over that within a single episode just because she's Tae Woong's mother even though we were shown how deeply Ji Young's life was affected after the accident. If you focus on the last 12 episodes you will easily overlook all the prior nasty events.
Well, the drama is a little bit different but ends up following the same footsteps of its melodrama predecessors, mainly after the 1st half. The drama is definitely one of the tamer ones, the writer just doesn't let things get too far even when things have all the right to be fully escalated. This is why the envelop of forgiveness was aggressively pushed beyond its limits. This is also why the drama had a very very long 12 episodes epilogue just to stress on that one single point. This is also why you may see the influx of positive comments. This is also why feelings in general became disingenuous at the end.
Both main leads had a weak performance and even a weaker written character especially the female lead. The actress is just too stiff, the only scenes she showed some expressions was the ones with the baby while the remainder mostly poker face. Her poorly written character suffered greatly due to its saint-like personality. You know how these kind of personalities go in dramas. Anyway, the 1st half was promising but it didn't live up to my expectations.
There wasn't enough "plot" to fill 102 episodes and keep the viewers engaged. The last 5 episodes were painfully slow, they felt like eternity. Jang Jin Gook must be one of the poorest written characters out there. The relationships between all of the 6 leads were just bad. I don't ask from such dramas to be believable (they're never meant to be) but there's a certain limit of blatant stupidity shouldn't be crossed unless you are making a mobbit show.
The synopsis is kinda misleading, she doesn't really lose everything. I had a little bit of interest at the beginning but that quickly evaporated. I didn't find any character/side-story interesting or engaging. There wasn't enough "plot" to fill 120 episodes and keep the viewers engaged. The last 10 episodes were painfully slow, they felt like eternity. The cast in general didn't appeal to me either especially Lee Sung Yeol the dude looks like a teenager and is written as one, it's hard to take him seriously. I couldn't sense any acting talent in him either.
Keep in mind this is a sitcom not a drama, well, kinda. Just like any other sitcom, the comedy is what makes it or breaks and it's the main focus or so I thought. The first half was a proper sitcom with lots of jokes but the 2nd half kinda turned into a regular family drama focusing on the characters and keeping the jokes to absolute minimum. A handful of episodes would pass without a single joke, I completely forgot it was a sitcom in the 2nd half. Also, the 2nd half shifted the focus to the younger couples mainly, you barely got to see any of the elders. I'm not sure why they took it that direction, the writer was probably changed if I had to take a guess.
I enjoyed the first half for what it had to offer but the second half failed to hold my interest. The characters and their stories weren't mature enough to compensate the change of genre and direction. Whenever they had some bloopers at the end of an episode it was always funnier than the episode. FYI, the drama had no canned laughter.
Coming to this after "Shady Mom-in-Law", I actually kinda liked it for the first 38 episodes although the story was very similar but it did everything "Shady Mom-in-Law" failed to do with the daughter-mother dynamic. Unfortunately, after episode 38 things slowed down a lot and got boring until the last 20 episodes were things started moving again. I'm too used to see Cha Ye Ryun playing the baddie as a 2nd FL across many projects but it's nice seeing her being the lead for a change. Anyway, none of the 4 young leads had any chemistry to begin with. That's the problem with most of these dailies. For the drama itself, don't expect too much it's your typical daily makjang were most things just don't make sense, especially when it comes to legal matter. The main theme of this drama is revenge and I think it was its weakest aspect, I wish it went all out on that aspect without holding back. The ending was alright, although I wish if it had been better.
Oh god this was a complete disaster. I couldn't like a single thing about it. The drama screams cheap, every single aspect you could think off was cheap! Also, utterly garbage ending.
It got pretty lame very quickly. The earlier parts were surrounding the family but the middle parts focused too much on the love triangles which was annoying, it took some time and they shifted back the focus to the family. Keep in mind this is the type of long running drama where things don't really get accomplished until the last 3 episodes. I've never seen someone turn red faster than Hae Soo's mother. Jae Hee was too damn stiff in this, I've seen him act better than this.
This is just... bad. This flat jaded narrative and these one dimensional characters killed my soul. I can't even be bothered to continue writing my comment.
I refuse to believe an 8 yo could be this menace. A fleet of psychologists wouldn't be able to help this lost cause. The amount of secrets, birth secrets and swaps was unbearable that it made the drama tedious and frustrating. The characters' writing didn't help either. You got your usual doormat character who is the "goodest" person to ever live, you may as well erase her entire blood line and she will forgive you. The flashbacks at the beginning were utterly boring and too goddamn long lasting for 10 episodes. They are designed to push away any potential viewers. The romance was straight up ass, anime highschool romances are better. The resolution/ending/last episode all sucked. Nothing will go as you like.
The whole pregnancy thing was a complete joke. How did the writer ever thought this would be passable for human consumption? I bet you if you asked ChatGPT to re-write that part it would come up with infinitely better scenario. At least it gave me a good chuckle. The story changes randomly to suit the writer without meaningful justification/resolution and some are just cut off without a mention. Like how Tae Pung's mother never hired a lawyer despite having millions? Anyway, the drama is the usual infinite loop of corporate hell until it reaches the end. Most of the revelations felt weak after a long build up. The drama was completely unhinged, you need to shut down every neuron in your brain to endure it.
This was Yoon Se In's first drama out of 3 and it seems she quit acting I wonder why? Anyway, the 20 episodes had a good build up and put the story in a good place but unfortunately it tumbled on itself and didn't get anywhere. The story fell flat and none of the bigger events had much weight. The story changes randomly to suit the writer without meaningful justification/resolution and some are just cut off without a mention. Like the breakups/reconciliations happening or that raging son or the orphan one.
I have one major problem with this drama and that's the pacing/flow. Stories don't progress in parallel, the writer dedicate a chunk of episodes for every side story while making almost no progress on the main story. For example, Nam Seon story took a big chunk and it was the main focus during that to the point everything else was put on hold. Even the leads weren't safe from this practice. After the first 30-40 episodes they almost had no role in the story. Another thing I didn't like is how inappropriate some characters' inclusion in the story. For example, Noh Young Ki had absolutely no business in shoving in himself with the leads. Completely out of place and was only done because the writer didn't write anything else for him. There were a lot of trashy characters in the drama and the writer's solution to fix them is to take away their money. Basically, the writer is telling us that rich = trashy.
The drama also had pacing issues whether it's regarding the main story or any of the side ones. The main story felt limited in the number of characters it involved, there were mainly 6 characters it was cycling through.
