That was quite unpleasant. Every single character was annoying and unlikable even the kid. These cheap emotions didn't translate well later on, even around the climax, maybe because it didn't have a good build up with this messy makjang. There was simply no room for makjang in this type of story, I wonder if the original novel have such elements or the screenwriter wanted to write a makjang.
How the fuck was he convicted of murder and sentenced for life when the victim wasn't dead?! At worst, his charges shouldn't be more than break-in/assault/attempted murder.
It's a generic draggy revenge plot with incompetent authorities and unsatisfactory dramatic outcome of this "revenge". Very predictable and nothing stands out. The cast performance was mostly lacking, especially from the leads. The female lead put absolutely zero effort in the role and the male lead looks constipated at all times.
Another big turn off, all females had the worst character writing possible, Soo Ah, her friend and Yoo Ran they all were portrayed as complete braindead idiots.
Well, that was awful and the last 5 episodes were even worse. These relationships were painful to follow through. The ex-wife plot line was just too weird. Childish dull comedy, I can't even remember a single funny scene. Troublesome beginning followed by flat-line static droughty middle parts and randomized jarring ending. I guess the cast was fine?!
I drew comparison between it and "The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry (2010)" and "Witch Yoo Hee (2007)", I found this one to be worse.
AYO! Like 90% of the cast consists of pretty bois. The amount of silicon will kill any turtle within 10km radius. I enjoyed the first 3 episodes, it had some good laughs, but it fell into empty fluff mediocrity afterwards with the second half being barely tolerable. By that point I was sick with the main leads, couldn't they just separate or one of them die or anything eventful to happen? They are the worst part about the drama. At least the side stories were fine but even that didn't go anywhere. By the end, most stories remained underdeveloped and their resolution was brushed off quickly in the last 30 min. On the bright side, I got to see Kim Seul Gi in a main role.
Unbelievable how dull and bland this is. Another uneventful crime drama with incompetent authorities and airheaded characters. Watered down run-of-the-mill story that lacked coherent structure. The emotional moments didn't carry a hefty impact, part of that falls on to the characters' writing and maybe the cast performance sometime. Speaking of which, not a single character stood out.
It's definitely overrated for how much people call it "underrated".
The synopsis alone will get you excited to watch it. Ridiculous over the top comedy, vibrant lively unhinged vibes in the best way. It was a delightful watch full of laughs. Great big cast full of enjoyable characters. There are a lot more cast members that aren't listed here on the website. It was also nice to see Nam Sang Mi in one of her first main roles, she gives off a completely different vibes compared to her recent dramas.
Compared to other parts of the "Bad" trilogy, this one is the best one. While "Bad Couple" coming 2nd and "Bad Housewife" in 3rd.
It was alright although it dragged, they should have filled the middle parts with random interesting cases rather than solely focusing on the main antagonist or expand more on the main story with more events other than his mistress and her kid. It followed the approach of "the only thing stopping the bad guy is the drama writer reaching the last episode". I liked the leads initial interactions but later it became a background noise, would have been nice if they were given a better development/story. On an unrelated note, Jung Soo Young showed unexpected sexy side.
It was mentioned that Kim Min Jung was meant to be the female lead but was replaced due to an injury, although I really like her as an actress but I don't think she would have been a good fit to play Joo Jae In character or to be a matching item with the male lead. Yoon So Yi did a good job as is for this role.
You might naturally expect a love triangle or square or even pentagon but NO! They slap you with a love hexagon! You got ML + his GF + FL + Joon Ha + his fiance + Johnny + how many ever females chasing Johnny. That was a clusterfuck. Han Ga In had the worst performance from the cast, she borderline can't act at all. She always whisper and barely audible, she also lacked a more pronounced sassy attitude for a cold character. That weird girl "Song Hwa's GF" would have been a better replacement of her.
Anyway, expect to see all the cliches executed in the worst possible way.
It's not an open ending, it's an abrupt sudden cut. Often, OCN pull this bullshit of dividing a series into 2 parts of 10 episodes but it seems they forgot about this one. I really hate OCN for that, compared to other networks they are the network that divide its drama the most or leave teasers for more seasons.
The detectives sure are good at revealing and solving mysteries but they 100% suck at saving people. Most of the cases were decent but the drama lacked a bigger narrative which we only started to get around the ending before it was cut. For what it had to offer it was fine, it got the simplistic watered down repetitive style of other OCN drama.
The worst writing for an action drama I've ever seen. The script is truly abysmal and when the ML turned to an emo kid, it reached the bottom of the abyss. Not even the cast performance was that good. About 85% of NETFLIX originals suffer severely in all aspects. They are shot nicely and look flashy, that's it.
The synopsis is only relevant for the first few episodes, just so you know. This is one heck of a generic monotone action/thriller that is overcooked badly and draggy af. Ridiculously cartoonish plot, the bad guy is like a god, he can supply a nuke/explosive/bombs/EMPs like nothing, he controls the world and everyone works for him. The only thing that can stop him is the drama running out of episodes. Hilariously predictable, whenever a character holds an important piece of information you know death is coming within 10 minutes. Tae Kyung & Bo Won developing romantic attraction came off as extremely forced and awkward, pure cringe. The cast performance was mostly lackluster, especially from the both leads with their dead expressions.
I can't think of a single positive note worthy aspect, there are countless better action drama out there.
It's mostly about managing a sports team so don't expect any game-play, there's maybe 2 scenes of playing baseball. The drama felt like it dragged forever after episode 7-8 and later half wasn't as consistent. It also felt tame and mundane, I wanted a bigger story, plot and backstory. Maybe try and explore Seung Soo's past with his brother, ex-partner (I assume) and previous positions or try to build a better developed story for the players and give them more depth. The drama had a good set up but remained trapped inside its own bubble. Plus, the ending felt underwhelming, still watchable tho. Namkoong was a better manager in "Good Manager (2017)", ikr a fitting title.
Hwang Jung Min is one of the most underrated actors just because people don't see him starring in drama much, maybe that's starting to change now. Nonetheless, do yourself a favor and check out his movies.
People who call this a slice of life are wrong, there's a full story, progressing, conflict, development, and a resolution. Anyway, it's a great drama with splendid performance by the cast, although it got a bit dodgy when Joon Hyuk wore the black turtleneck.
"Delayed Justice" more like "should have been delayed"!!! Sam Soo's replacement was ridiculously goofy, he was overacting as if his life was depending on it. Aside from the actor, even the drama's vibe changed. The last case about the school was just silly and didn't match earlier parts or the type of cases they were handling. The drama could have ended at episode 17 with a quick wrap up rather than this embarrassment. Regarding earlier cases, they were fine but most of them dragged and gone on for too long. At least Tae Yong and Yoo Kyung and their rings were cute af.
The opening scene is a teaser from episode 17, I hate when a drama pull this kind of stuff. It's okay to tease a couple of episodes in advance but not a teaser from the ending. Speaking of the ending, the last two episodes were bad, they were leaning to heavily on old melodrama themes/cliches that doesn't work in the context of this drama. Most of the cast did a half-assed job, their performance came out as awkward and immature, especially from those who work in the campaign. The candidate's son Jang Sung Min was the worst character/actor in the dram, replace him with a stranger might be better.
Regarding the story and its events, there was no real big escalations that you might expect in a political focused drama, it was mostly the known generic jabs in a political context. They forced "In Yeong" and "Min Ki" plot line but then proceeded to brush it off aside without much regard. Their screen time appearance was very limited after that. The drama was passable at best.
Absolutely great start, okay ending and kinda below average middle parts. Once the fantasy elements/devil was revealed to the characters one by one (eps13), the drama got goofy, comical, cheap and turned generic. The ending was okay but underwhelming. The light saber fight was bad, like seriously bad! I wonder if the screenwriters were changed after the initial episodes. The drama is still watchable but a huge potential was wasted. Feeling 5.5/10 at best!
Let's talk about hairstyles. Why most of the characters got a similar long-ish hair style? It didn't hit with me seeing Jung Kyung Ho with a long hair, I'm too used to his usual short hair. On the other hand, Lee El with the short blond hair was an absolute stellar!
This is one of those shitty dramas were there's no justice or enough deserved karma for the misdeeds. It doesn't help when it's also comically over-dramatic. I kept remembering that one scene in the desert where bullets flying in every direction but doctor is in the middle of open area performing CPR and dodging bullets like the matrix. BRUH!
This intense jealousy/envy was revolting and exhausting. They went overboard with the themes and it ended up being messy. You got the hospital, the musician, China, gang members, north Korea, blackmail/mercenaries, vigilantes, drug deals and national security, they were just throwing a load of random bullshit at us. The drama isn't good and barely in a functional state.
