It's a waste for Hwang Jung Eum and Jung Kyung Ho time. They could have been working in better projects rather than this gunk. Way too much religious insertions and interventions, especially with the rape topic, I was fuming.
The screenwriter is the same writer as "East of Eden" and "Stormy Lovers". It's safe to say she's probably one of the worst writers out there. At least it seems she already quite writing. It looks like the drama was cut short and everything had to be wrapped up in episode 37.
It bothered me too damn much that it took them a disaster to get closer and solve their issues instead of working on it naturally. That's straight up a cheap emotions bait. The drama also needed a bit more affection, it's too dry for this set up.
Considering the "disaster" and what they went through, the events closer to the end and the ending didn't include much presence of other family members, especially the grandfather. I wanted a better ending.
It's like a collection of random makjang highlights with no ending to most of them. The script was too awkward at times and the acting was a hit or miss. The insurance scam story was the best out of them.
It started off great, the first 4 episodes were top notch then the quality took a dip. It needed more cases, the…
I'm beyond pissed off the piece of shit was underage. Minors should be treated twice as harsh by the law and get double sentences. Him dying at the end wasn't enough!!
It started off great, the first 4 episodes were top notch then the quality took a dip. It needed more cases, the few cases we had barely go beyond the leads' personal cases. Great performance by the cast. I wanted more from the ending, it felt a bit tame.
I just finished "Secret Mother (2018)" before watching this one and they both share great similarities. The theme, setting, vibe and even the culprit. In comparison, Secret Mother did it better.
The mother was convicted and sent to a psychiatrist facility for 9 years before escaping with little to no evidence of her being the culprit. This is the shittiest worse set up for a crime/mystery drama I've ever seen. At least put some effort in the set up and make it believable. As early as episode 5, the SUS factor was too high and the culprit was almost known.
Didn't like Jung Woong In playing the detective role. Detective Chun introduction was too late. They tried to tease for this "secret" organization which is absolutely unnecessary for the scope of this drama. The last two episodes were too messy including the ending.
It was better than I thought. It definitely had similar vibes to "Woman of Dignity (2017)" & "SKY Castle (2018)". The mystery was fine and it will keep you hooked for the first 10 episodes while the r remainder is just a waiting game, although it was a bit predictable since there was only two suspects. The side stories were fine and slightly intertwined with Lisa Kim. I think Sky Castle did the side stories better. Kim So Yeon's sharp looks will always pierce throw your soul!
First scene first episode, Lisa Kim was thrown from the top of a sky scraper and lived. EXCUSE ME!! It bothered me for the entire drama.
Law, crime, melodrama, romance, comedy, it failed in every genre there is. Slap on top of that a lukewarm ending and you'll get a project guaranteed to flop. They pushed for romance really hard, to an obnoxious level, but nothing came out of it at the end. Nothing at all! Watch it for Choi Ji Woo otherwise skip.
This concept had tremendous potentials to play with but they kept it simple and straightforward. How about making both worlds collide and we get both Jae Sangs go against each other. Go back and forth to fix both timelines. Get Shi On into the action to meet her parallel self and reign justice. Anyway, the drama as it's was fine but it needed a better structure even with it going for the easier route. The lack of Bo Na presence in the second half was sad. The female lead was completely fine, people are exaggerating. Rain (Jae Sang) was also fine, people are exaggerating.
I swear every single thriller/mystery drama under the sun ends with a set up for more seasons, it's a cheap bait and I hate it. Anyway, the drama was alright, straightforward and predictable with not much "mystery". It needed more depth and twists.
Nothing stands out and once the mystery of the mother's death revealed nothing else interesting left. Too many unnecessary uneventful meaningless stretched scenes of nothingness. Underwhelming climax, kinda predictable and not much else happen after that. At least give us some spice and twists. Overly complicated to build a bigger story but that never happened, all went to tease for 2nd season. They left many things planted for second season but that will never happen due to broadcast ratings. Average 5/10.
Ah Mi lost any character she had prior to the accident in the first quarter and became like a blank piece of wood. Whenever she appeared on screen after that I almost forgot she existed. Aside from it being slow and long, the show became completely monotonous after episode 21 until the end. Not a fan of the ending either, wtf was that wedding!!
Excruciatingly long and pointlessly slow until the last two episodes where they speed up everything, yet the last 2 eps were underwhelming for an ending, especially the last 30 minutes wtf was that! It's full of fillers and mundane conversation. These conversations don't contribute in any meaningful way other than prolonging the series, if they were to serve a comedic purpose or to further develop the characters then sure keep them going. Also, 25+ hours of workplace abuse/politics is utterly exhausting and mind numbing. Massive missed opportunity to utilize this "empty" time to present a better story. Most of the drama is focused on Geu Rae & Sang Shik while the side stories are brushed off and barely given any attention.
Nonetheless, it's a good package but not as good as I was expecting. Looking at ratings/reviews my expectations were too damn high.
Generic, soulless and lacks any appeal. Long boring side cases and the main story got no mystery or whatsoever, the culprit was revealed way to early and the remainder is just a chase. They should had hired a real IT specialist to help with the writing instead of this cringe *hacking* irrelevant to the situation user interfaces, keyboard clicks and popups. Medical/Law dramas can get close enough meaningful representation but when it comes to IT there are almost none that do it good. I'm amazed this is rated 8.3 on MDL, it's quite forgettable.
Interesting premise but the execution was poor from the very beginning when the kidnapping happened. They didn't do a good job to be convincing. The female lead didn't nail the performance for a hysterical mother whose child got kidnapped. Few things left unfinished at the end regarding the corporation. Same concept but infinitely better is "Mother (2018)", another one with similar concept is "God's Gift: 14 Days (2014)".
The guy who killed Yeong Tae was a random nobody guy instead of one of the mains, what a fucking joke!

P.S. Episode 2 hits hard!

Esom got paid to play as a corpse lol.
