This is just a poorly written melodrama with no romance maybe a tiny bit in the last episodes but it shouldn't have the romance tag at all. I hate how there wasn't much of a proper punishment for the step-mother (not even a slap on the face!!!) which leaves me as a viewer unsatisfied. The father character is so unbelievably stupid every time he appears on screen, it just adds more to my frustration.
The drama kept going in circles repeating the same events which made the drama feel too long and painful to keep watching.
This drama should have a tag like "Satire-Melodrama" instead of "melodrama" but eventually it decides to take itself seriously in the last 5-6 episodes. This drama is a bit misunderstood, it's not your typical melodrama but it's an interesting watch for sure especially for the first half.
I don't care if it's a happy ending or if it's a good drama, when ever they pull this kind of shit at the end with "time skip without any contact then show up on a sunny day" it instantly lose two points for me. It's long and draggy but the FL was hella cute, wish there was more romance it feels too dry. The revenge/detective plot took over the story and didn't allow the couple to have much screen time. Such a waste for a likable couple!
Aside from leaving tons of stuff unanswered with no resolution, they decided to fuck up the last few episodes with bs ending.
The drama industry should know by now that if you leave the audience unsatisfied with the ending, it will leave them with a sour taste in their mouth no matter how good the previous episodes were and vice versa. Also, another big wasted opportunity is how poorly they handled the disability topic it could have been better. The ML character falls off hard in the last 3 episodes, what a waste!
This could have been 8 for me but now it's barely 6/10
The build up for the "villain" took way too long. The drama felt a bit empty and lacking some events, there should have been some sub-plot along side the main plot.
Aside from these two points, it's a nice drama with a good cast (especially the comedic relief duo).
It shouldn't have been 20 eps not even 16, it felt way too draggy. This is the type of drama where you watch 1-2 eps per week as it was broadcasting. If you were to binge watch it, it will feel too boring and draggy with stuff taking too god damn long to happen. Also, I didn't like some of the plot elements like how the brother changed.
Anyway, good drama with nice moments and likable cast but I feel it is overrated for me it's (6.5) 7/10 at best.
I was bored out of my mind for the first 15-ish episode, I wasn't interested at all it was a big info dump with really slow progress for any of the characters. It started off weak in every possible way but later on in the second third of the drama it started to get really good and engaging. I'm glad I didn't gave up on it. Although it was enjoyable but there were a lot of distasteful fillers, the drama would have been better off with 50-ish episode instead. Also, it felt like the last episode they were running out of time and trying to brush off everything as quickly as possible while having slow shots and fillers.
Such a bs ending.... Weak draggy empty non existent story. I was bored out of my mind, I can't believe I finished 16 eps (1.15h each). The only good parts are the cast and cinematography, everything else is just bad. PS. stay away from the writer's works of this drama (Ha Myung Hee)
One major complain: the sets/locations looks way too artificial and fake which also affects the sound design, you can hear echo in some locations like outside the family house. The lighting condition feels off in most locations, indoor lighting and reflection are way too bright and overexposed compared to outdoor natural day light. I don't know if they are not technically skilled or it is just they didn't have much of a budget. Nonetheless, this affects your immersion but you get used to it after 50 episodes. All the characters were fine but the older brother is just really annoying and intolerable.
I understand what ppl saying about the 2ML syndrome but that's just because the ML was not a good fit to cast the character. If male leads actors were swapped it would have been better. Story was fine but felt too long and draggy with not much happening. Also, wish they gave more screen time to secondary characters.
Feels like it was written by a 15 yo teenager. Like who is this for? How come this got an average rating of 7.6 on MDL? The age gap people talking about is completely irrelevant as this drama is extremely flawed in every aspect and I would say it's straight up just bad. At the time of writing this comment I've seen over 100 dramas and this by far is the worst, literally. Casting: some of the adult cast were fine. All the student cast were just bad with no acting experience. Robotic facial expression like reading script from a paper. Awful cinematography, weird awkward static shots everywhere and lots of overexposure every now and then. Plain boring story to what seemed at first an interesting synopsis. The entire school dynamic was done poorly with lots of meaningless bullying. Too bad I don't drop anything otherwise I would easily have dropped it.
Weird poster doesn't give a good presentation of the actual drama. As @Cryostark commented below, I wish FL showed a bit more affection and love towards ML. ML was heads over heels in love with FL but it didn't feel like it was the case FL. I understand what FL went through, she still remember her ex and she knows about the ML surgery, but I hoped maybe towards the end after the ML showed up their relationships would be more affectionate. And as always, the drama ends in literally 3 minutes when both leads meet/reunite. I hate when dramas don't give a breathing room before the credits.
This shouldn't have been more than 12 episodes yet somehow it got stretched to unbearable 20 episodes of boredom and facepalming. I keep making the same mistake and watch dramas from this screenwriter (Ha Myung Hee), I just don't have the habit to check who is the writer before watching. I watched this drama for Hyun Jin anyway but the drama itself was very average and flawed. 5/10
Really slow and draggy. The story was short but it got stretched way too thin with fillers for 16 episodes. They could have explored more aspects of the story or just make it 12 episodes.

Not worth watching, skip it if you can!

The high rating I think might be due to nostalgia bias. Personally I find it mediocre old drama with not much to offer.

Overall, good and enjoyable family drama.
PS: Cho Rong dancing is top tier!!
bullshit open ending that will leave you unsatisfied after enduring 16eps of boredom

PS Seo Wool is too precious.
