Holy shit! How can an entire cast of characters to collectively share 1 singular brain cell??! Wtf is this sloppy spaghetti of writing. Can't believe I finished this!
My god Da Ya is truly intolerable. How can a character be this annoying. Also this is the first drama I watched of the ML Lee Jang Woo and the dude is just weird he doesn't give main lead vibes. He would be a better fit as a secondary character imo.
I absolutely adore both leads, funny with lots of charisma. Also, nice to see the female chasing the male in a drama. Usually it's the opposite. Fun and entertaining drama but the "conflict" at the end regarding the grandfather went on for too long and it wasn't that good which affected the climax of the drama imo. Also, for the rest of the couples (the doctor and the golfer) they didn't get much of screen time towards the end and their resolution was rushed way too fast. They had a good progression earlier in the drama, so why neglecting them towards the end?
ML is kinda unlikable for some reason (even at the end) and his unrelated brother is really annoying throughout the drama. The 2nd leads were just better.
I absolutely loved the father character, great acting and charisma.
The main leads relationship didn't feel like it got much screen time or much develop. I found the second leads (Hwang Tae Beom & Cha Soo Yeong) relationship to be much more interesting. Didn't like what happened to the 4th couples (the aunt) at the end, wished they did it better.
Also, not enough ducks screen time. NEED MORE DUCKS!
Choi Ho Jung so pure so innocent protect at all cost, the most cheerful aspect of this drama.
Meanwhile, the father character is the worst I ever seen. From the beginning till the very end it was dreadful to keep watching him. Also, the main conflict after the FL turns cold, it felt like it lasted for way too long without much progress. During that time, secondary plots were carrying through. To fix this, the plot needs to be spaced out a bit evenly. For example, take some time from the main conflict in the second half and put it around the beginning before the time skip to give more to their relationship/family dynamic. Overall, it was decent.
They break up because FL gets bullied and hold the ML back affecting his career although the ML is willing to put on the sacrifices and overcome that but she decides to give up, their problem wasn't even that bad at all. Then time skip few years later, on the last 10 minutes, they meet on a filming set then they slow walk and talk some filler sentences until the credits roll.
It is really exhausting to keep watching the ML fucking up every time he goes back and not take advantage of the chance. It's like he loses brain cells every time he goes back and get dumper.
You know what's more exhausting and frustrating? The FL doesn't deserve the ML. It's unbelievable how easily she gives up on him. She expect love without fighting for it. At the very slightest misunderstanding/missed opportunity she starts looking at the 2nd ML. Like wtf is wrong with you!
At least the ending was decent and FL realized her shortcomings.
So I watched both 'Heartstrings' and 'You're Beautiful' back to back and oh my god they are a copy of each others. An actual carbon copy down to all the characters archetypes (EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER). Even the ML confession to the FL is the same and the FL reaction is the same!!! The only difference is that 'You're Beautiful' is going through an edgier emo phase than 'Heartstrings'. Nonetheless, you can expect a lot of cringe from both dramas with some nice moments but that's as far as they can get. I would say 5.5/10 for both.
On an unrelated note, I like Park Shin Hye in her older roles more than her newer roles like 'Memories of the Alhambra'.

Feels like the comedy was made for kids. Insufferable atrocious writing, how did it get to such a score. The only saving grace was the cast which was decent.
It was okay, FL got annoying every now and then. Big fan of the Chief Judge Han, his uncontrollable rampage is always a pleasure. The second couple got more action/romance than the main couple, big oof!
Much better than I expected. Short, concise and good vibes. I don't understand why people in the comments asking for bi/lesbian relationship while the leads are just best friends trying to reconcile. The story is fine as it is.
It was alright, pretty average 5\10. This is the first drama I see from the FL and I'm interested to see her other dramas since she was a FL in Eulachacha Waikiki which I didn't watch yet.
There was an attempt, kinda! It feels like there was two script writers fighting each others. This drama is the epitome of mediocrity, an absolute sharp 5/10. Also, didn't expect to see Conan o Brien as a guest lol
The drama went downhill after episode 7. It turned heavily into boring politics and became absolutely soulless, it lost 95% of its charm. I really enjoyed the first third but got really disappointed with the rest. And don't get me started on the antagonist, oh my god he is the epitome of cringe edge lord, big yikes! "Crash Landing on You" done a similar concept to this drama and it was 100x folds better than this.
Horrendous! Atrocious! As if it was written by a bot. What a joke of a drama! On top of all that, despite the whole nation known about it, there was no proper punishment for the 7-years abuser/cheater husband????!!!!!
