Not bad. This is an omnibus with three stories that are wrapped in mystery, each story is unique and doesn't follow the same pattern, except having a somewhat satisfactory resolution.
This was great in the thriller department. The acting is good too. BUT there is something about this movie that holds it back from being great, a sense of disappointment maybe? Idk, maybe that's the point of the movie to show you such chase for revenge is meaningless (though for such a killer I'm happy she wanted to get rid of him). There is a sense of emptiness at the end to me.
I came back after the ost came up in my playlist. I still remember the details of this drama painfully well. One other thing to mention about it, is how realistic it depicts someone with terminal cancer. Unlike other movies and dramas, it is really exhausting, hard, and painful on everyone T.T Also it never escapes me how sarcastic/ironic the title is.
I really liked this movie. Idk about the comments but I actually was glad the movie was long. It had a good pace and I was engaged throughout. Acting, writing, and action were very good. If you're into action thriller related to financial schemes this is the movie for you.
I came across this movie by chance and watch it without knowing anything and man I'm so happy I did. The acting was good and the writing was very funny. I found myself interested more in Hyung Wook and how he would adapt to his new life. I even found him more attractive (in spite of knowing he's a hired killer, and I guess his looks?). I'm glad the romance panned out the way it did. Anyway fun light-hearted movie, totally recommended.
I saw 10 and mistakenly thought it had ended however looking through the official website there are 12 ep. Not sure if it has ended as the ep aired March 30th.
This was such a nice drama! Yaku was such a sweetheart <3 The ending is befitting, somehow a total 50 first dates. I would've loved to know how it happened but I guess that's not the point of the drama? Anyway, recommended if you like light detective story with mystery and some romance, maybe?
I didn't know what to expect when I started this movie but it turned out to be quite good. This is a SLOW paced movie but somehow I didn't want to fast forward. You get invested in the character as he journeys through. By the end I felt really sad, and melancholic, my chest is tight and like Koreans say dabdabhae (답답해). I really enjoyed the music, it somehow transformed the movie from a tragedy to a sad slice of life (if that makes sense). Overall, the movie made me think about our choices in life and what really matters to us. At the same time, life can hit you square in the face and you can't really do anything about it. We try to live by what we think is right or true with the hope it turns out well.
In Short this was amazing. Recommended. However I'd say be prepared for heart wrenching moments from a story based on true events. Gives you a peak to an important event in Korean history.
This made me think that in spite of the wave of "fake news" and misreporting, the new digital age of media and the internet have really changed how news are transmitted and spread. Looking at the struggle of one person being able to report vs. people having the ability to document as well and broadcast. At the same time, this reminded me of the conflicts and wars many nations are facing today. Decades later we're still seeing people are killed for and/or are repressed by governments for believing in an idea or speaking their minds. Instead of peaceful talks/negotiations you see overkill and mass cleansing. It's so sad many moments in the movie reminded me of what's happening in other countries like Syria and Yemen. My prayers goes out to those suffering.
It's the German reporter who died in 2016. The message like you said is him looking for the taxi driver. He'd be happy to see him. He hoped the video message would help find the driver. If he meets him again he would get in his taxi to see Seoul. Unfortunately the reporter died before without ever meeting him.
Also it never escapes me how sarcastic/ironic the title is.

Recommended, just be in the mood for sad/ lonely.
