I feel like he took on way too many projects last year. Didn't he have Mama Gogo, Warp Effect, Dirty Laundry and…
I was just about to say that, lol. The other 3 are good and got all the love, and he just ran out of steam for this one

I'm really surprised that you agree with me on this - that hasn't happened lately. Nat isn't just a great actor,…
Nat is hot. Forget about Perth Chimon, I would rather see Perth Nat in a BL, lol

I love all of P'Jojo's works including Gay OK, Bangkok, Friend Zone, 3 Will Be Free, and Warp Effect. This one is so far apart from the others, I'm just surprised. I don't know what happened here. This has none of the artistry of P'Jojo - it's like a shadow of his other work.

the amount of negative comments I see here.🙄 Just will let you all know, NEVER decide if you are gonna watch…
This series was good till episode 5, and I was defending it till episode 9, long after I should have. I agree with your idea for the most part though. Just don't listen to MDL comments and make up your own mind. Unforgotten Night was a classic that you could have missed if you read the early comments, but most everyone was won over by the end. Youtube comments are way too positive and mean nothing. I think at least on MDL you have a nice split.

I feel like I just got out of prison. That was terrible, clunky, mindless, and sappy trash. I was really hoping that Nat would just shoot them both and this would end in a tragedy. I've never wanted that in a BL, but NLMG drove me there, especially since Nat is such a great actor and he deserves to win. All you poor people that made it to the end, you did not deserve to be beaten up and abused like this, and I'm here for you. I don't know how much stupid melodrama they could have squeezed into 50 minutes but they achieved maximum overload, and I couldn't take the one hundredth splitting up of these lovers due to whatever - self-absorbed touchy feelie I don't like myself, so waahhhh, I'm splitting up with you, till you come crawling back to me and tell me how bad I was. What the hell is this mind killing sludge? Where does Palm get his amazing regenerative powers? He never seems to have a scratch after being pummeled by dozens of people. I'm sure he could have been shot in both legs, his brain and heart by Krit, and be fine in a couple of weeks. He even has plenty of energy to start up a business while recovering. Why is the mom totally unaware of who Neung's lover is but totally wants him to go back to him, after telling Palm, in so many words, that he better get out of Neung's life because he needs to focus on the job that she later tells Neung not to focus on because it's distracting him from going after Palm. I think I have whiplash from all this. Thank god this is over. Don't listen to the people who say not to listen to us - this show was way, way bad and not worth your time. I have nothing against any of the actors, and even the director is one of my favorites, but this show is pure garbage and the only good thing about it is all the shirtless scenes with Palm and Phuwin, and they sometimes had some chemistry. Perth, Nat, and Chimon provided the only acting that added any entertainment. You can FF through 90 percent of the rest.
On Moonlight Chicken Feb 28, 2023
I've come to this show late, but am really in love with it. I think only ITSAY is comparable for me. They're very different with ITSAY having far more artistic elements, and Moonlight having more mature relationships that are much more relatable. The music score is just fantastic in this series and sets the mood for every scene. There is such a wistful, nostalgic feel to this series, and sense of quiet tragedy and desperation in the lives of everyday people like Jim. This doesn't even feel like a BL, and is functioning on a much higher plane than your normal series. It's far more like a gay drama than most, and has very little fluff. I'm just hoping it's not going to have any tragic storylines. The acting is really strong among all the couples, and various side characters. It's surprising seeing Fourth and Gemini in two of the best series I've ever seen, playing two totally different iconic couples. Their acting is just phenomenal in both series. Gemini’s playing this deaf character is just so completely moving, and the scene where he confronts his parents was one of the most heart-felt scenes I've ever seen in a BL. Just the angst of someone not even able to leave his house because of his mother's shame was just so utterly sad, and his mother confronting her own shame in that scene was really powerful.

I love Mix in this as well - he's really advanced a lot as an actor, and the chemistry between him and Earth is some of the best I've ever seen in any series, ever. They really feel like they're in love. I love Wen's relentless pursuit of Jim who he sees for the generous, and kind-hearted person he is. He's doing everything to win Jim over, and even has him confront his past to overcome his psychological block that prevents him from dating. Yet he does that in a very considerate, and unobtrusive way that breaks down Jim's resistance with a soft and delicate touch. Not only is he relentless, but he's very intelligent - fortunately, Wen's also very compassionate. I think Mix captures this character perfectly.

This is just a phenomenal series and will definitely be one of my all time favorites. P'Aof has even taken a leap beyond 1000 stars and Bad Buddy with this, and seems to be about the best director out there at GMMTV. I think he's really one of the very few conscientious directors that strives to produce excellent work focusing on the details. It's just a few plot elements that escape him at times, but most of his work is top notch.
On The Warp Effect Feb 28, 2023
This ending reminded me of the Christmas Carol where Scrooge learns how to become a good person after seeing a vision of the future. Alex goes back and fixes his issues, and helps everyone else fix theirs. It's not the ideal ending, and I could think of others where we would retain all the beautiful development of the other characters without sacrificing the positive ending for Jean and Alex. Essentially this ending is dictated by the fact that Alex has to fix his worst mistake. Everyone else loses the very challenging and difficult struggles that they underwent to achieve what would make them their best selves, because those struggles helped to create their strength of character.

Even if it's not the best ending this was an incredible series that really worked on the details. The excellent character development, the mature depiction of a wide variety of sexual topics, and the great pacing were what made this show one of the best I've ever seen from Thailand. Really an amazing series that had a better depiction of LGBTQ issues than all the BL's, and placed those in the middle of a very interesting straight drama so that it could reach a far wider audience. This show was very smart, and entertaining. I'll really be missing it. Everyone's acting was just top notch, especially all the women who really were just total professionals in their roles. Fluke playing Army is still my favorite, and I think he played the best gay character I've seen in a Thai drama - super fun, alive, and totally sincere. Kudos to P'Jojo for putting this all together in a really flawless way.

On My Beautiful Man Season 2 Feb 27, 2023
I really love this drama, and have said the first season was the best BL of the year. I think the subtle portrayal of Hira as someone suffering from some mental issue which has elements of social anxiety, OCD, neurodivergence, or autism is fascinating. He is a tragic figure in the way that many disabled people are, and that we don't know exactly what his mental issues are doesn't take away from this. Many people with mental illness have this form of obsessive love, partly due to the fact they are more likely to lose their loved one than a normal person, especially if they don't have any mental health issues of their own. Sometimes with something like even Major Depressive Disorder, a person become obsessed with holding on to the person that they love because they will become suicidal without them around. I don't think Hira is going to become that way, but he would definitely becoming very depressed losing Kiyoi and the stakes feel much higher for him to stay in this relationship than a normal person. Considering also that he is so fixated on Kiyoi he would not likely be able to ever move on to another partner, I feel he is in a very sad situation. I know a lot of us have created a situation where it's hard to stay together because of choices that we have made, like career choices, ignoring our partner, etc., but Hira has made every possible accommodation for Kiyoi except a seemingly unimportant one: he refuses to treat him as an equal, but would rather put him on a pedestal. It's a rather unique issue and Kiyoi refuses to accept it because it means he refuses to learn who Kiyoi is and I can see how Kiyoi would think that's important. No one would like to have their partner not even understand who they are. It's such an unusual situation. We all naturally want to know everything about our partners. It's really ingrained into us, and is something we don't even think about. There are unequal relationships like Mozart's wife Constanze, or Einstein wife who knew they were to take care of their husband's every need like Hira does with Kiyoi, but even they asked their husbands what they thought about various things. Hira doesn't understand that role. He wants something I never heard of and it's due to his mental illness. It feels like a fixated concept, removed from rationale thought that controls his actions. He really would need therapy to get out of this, but being a BL, I'm sure that won't happen. Instead, we should have a tragedy. No amount of communication from Kiyoi is going to fix this, in my opinion. Hira has to get beyond a deeply rooted psychological barrier to make the relationship work. It will be interesting to see how they resolve this.

Not discussing that part, I've loved everything else in this series. The wonderful acting is superlative here, and the side dramas with Koyama, and the famous actress add so much to the drama and are woven in perfectly. I like how Koyama is so manipulative and in such a offhand, inoffensive way. Even the visit from the aunt, though brief, was effective and captured some sense of the turmoil of her own relationship. Really one of the best dramas around, and psychologically very profound. As normal, Japanese dramas are in their own league, and this drama is definitely one of the best among them.

I always liked this show they used to have called Kitchen Nightmares. I feel they need something like that at GMMTV, like it would be a show where they called in someone to do an intervention. It could be called SCREENWRITING NIGHTMARES. I could see it now with this show:

Gordon Ramsey: WTF, how many times do we have to go over this Jojo, this scene here is like a turd that’s been sitting too long in the toilet. Can we freshen it up a little bit? Ok, these bodyguards couldn’t even protect kids during recess. What kind of mafia is this that they can’t shoot a kid that’s tied up, sitting in a chair that’s their number 1 target? This kid’s going to school and running a mult-million dollar conglomerate – I told them to knock off the drugs last night, but I guess someone wasn’t listening. Your staff is running all over you, and we’re going to bring in these bodyguards for you Jojo to get them to listen- you can use them to shake up the actors and screenwriters if you want. We’re putting a mouse in your underwear, Pond, until you start acting – I’m done with this bullshit.

A month later:

Gordon Ramsey: Jojo, what happened? The break room for the screenwriters is like a hundred degrees. These actors are being paid slave wages. I told you we need to use the carrot and the stick. Even if we’re beating them up we can’t have them starving. You should save some of that money we’re spending on things like these silky pajamas for Phuwin, and wtf was that scene anyway- comic relief? Seriously what is going on here- it’s like you learned nothing. No more fanservice this time for Pond Phuwin after the show is over. Instead of that, they’re going to Thai prison for a month. You have some connection with the cops?

Jojo: Oh, of course, we’re GMMTV - we own the cops.

Gordon Ramsey: Good, that dance sequence deserves jail time. This show is bollocks! I’m not sure I can save this. I was too late for Check Out, and this piece of shit drama is another train wreck beyond redemption. Ok, I’m off to Hit, Bite, Love to save Season 2. What diseased, sadistic mind created Season 1 of that show? All I can say is Thai BL’s are good for business - it's like a huge garbage mill over here. We'll have enough material for at least 20 more seasons.

I loved this. Every episode was just spectacular. I want to take a moment and indulge myself. I don't care who reads this. That was just beautiful, and almost spiritual for me. I have enjoyed every episode and this ending was just pure magic, and felt dream-like. I don't know how it happened but everything worked and we achieved maximum fluffiness overload which reached a level of spiritual awakening. Ok, was that over the top? So what. I'm in the temple of fluff and this went to max level possible, and I loved it. I loved every song, and every visual, and every kiss by the second and primary couples. Sometimes I felt like when I was watching them sing that I was in a dream, and that everything was good in the world, and that is what I watch BL's for so thank you for bringing the dream to life. This series will always be the best, and the others will only be something like it. They finally kissed, and it was like in Jane Austen when the kiss is held off till the final moments, but who cares, because that was beautiful and sensuous. I don't want anything else. This series was nearly perfect, and I am thankful that it was here to give us the perfect release for all our Bl fantasies.

you cannot convince that episode 11 was not a mess
Episode 11 was the worst. A total disaster, a train wreck that was the climax of the other train wrecks from all the other episodes.

I think Chimon is also good as well as Nat as far as acting. Your other points are spot on. I don’t know if Jojo even did this screenplay, though, with four screenwriters listed but he should have definitely told them about his vision for the show, and should have coordinated the screenwriting like Aof seems to do. I wish I knew how they do things at GMMTV to see what role the director takes vs. screenwriters, and if someone else (like a producer) can change the direction of the plot in some way.

Oh sure, but that is a tiny handful and Enchante must have dropped since I saw it last. I would not rate many of these shows that highly, and I’m not sure about the non-BL’s. I’ll take your word on that. There are still a string of BL’s that are just rated too high, imo. This is just speculation, but I’m going to keep watching this to see if their sucky shows still get high ratings.

I’m getting suspicious with Vice Versa and now this show. There are others as well. It never seems like their shows go below 7.5 no matter how bad they are including Star In My Mind, Enchante, etc. This show I give a 6.5 and that’s generous.

I have no problem with people liking this. I just think it’s unlikely people like this that much. I’ve liked silly shows for no particular reason but I usually know it’s not great. If they really think this show is a 9 or 10 I still am not criticizing them, but I find it unlikely that 3000 people generally thought it was a great show. I kind of made a joke about it but I hope people understand my meaning.
