This drama is healing indeed! The fact that it can put smiles on all our faces so effortlessly means that it is already successful regardless of ratings ect.
I',m so glad that the possible love triangle is resolved so reasonably. All parties were mature and respectful towards each other. I don't think I've ever seen such an approach in other k-dramas. They usually drag it as long as possible and I'm glad that it's not a case here.
I loved episode 10: 1. The most important one - biological crisis executed perfectly. Tbh I was a bit scared that he was going to reject her when I saw the preview yesterday, but after the scene with poem and conversation with grandma, I was keen to believe that we will get some fireworks or better - butterflies. Also, we weren't told why Du Shik went to Hye Jin's home at the beginning of the episode and I'm wondering whether it was related to realizing his own feelings. 2. While watching the scene of the breaking-in I was like: "'This is supposed to be a comedy. I don't want any of them hurt." lol. I know that this is a bit of a cliche (not the first one), but they seriously make them really neatly. 3. Really liked how the villagers treat Hye Jin as their own - her character development through the episodes is very evident here (not only while interacting with the villagers, but especially with her new perspective of Gongjin as a new home). 4. I really liked how subtle some of the scenes are, i.e. the poem that Du Shik read to Hye Jin to help her asleep (Doorkeeper) as it reflected Du Shik's feelings perfectly. It's like his heart is closed and only he decides who could be invited and he realizes that he cannot deny Hye Jin her entry anymore. If anyone knows who is the poet, please kindly let me know. 5. I really liked how Sung Hyun decided to finally confess, but we all knew that he's already too late, which was actually heartbreaking. It's sad that they both used to like each other, but were completely unaware of their feelings all this time. Life is cruel like that and timing is always important. 6. The scene of Hye Jin accepting her feelings towards Du Shik also was full of feels. I usually don't like when they recap the scenes from previous episodes, but here it was needed to deliver this final punch. And beautiful. 7. The epilogue scene got me as usual and was really emotional. It made me think of my parents and their wishes for me (as I always wish them health and long life).
Sung Hyun taught me in today's ep to always take the risk. The fact that at some point Hye Jin had a crush on…
While watching this I was actually thinking: how many people I had a crush on actually liked me back, but we both weren't brave enough to confess? How many people liked me (as I liked others,) but I was completely unaware? Life works in mysterious ways and I also learned that it is always worth taking risks regardless of the outcome. Regret is always too much.
Woah Doo Shik almost convinced me that the porridge was delicious lol.
I kept an eye on Kim Seon Ho since Strongest Deliveryman and I'm so happy that he is getting the recognition for his acting skills that he undoubtedly deserves. This role is tailored for him and he's shining here. At first, the premise of this show seemed pretty basic but after the first couple of episodes that showed the depth of his character and snippets of everyday life, I knew why he chose this project. Also, it's difficult at this point to indicate any other actress that could so effortlessly deliver Hye Jin's role. They both own their characters.
As always this weekend's episodes were amazing (full of warmth, emotion, funny and heart-fluttering). The preview for next week is neatly done as well (it's keeping viewers engaged and interested in the story). I watched two episodes at once as I couldn't watch ep 7 yesterday and now I wish I could spend all weekend watching all 16 episodes at one go (weather is horrible atm). I don't mind watching episodes that last 1 hour 20 minutes - I was so happy when I realized that episodes were that long!
Also - am I the only one that is always eagerly waiting for the last scene of every episode? I'm always curious what they will show us and if I was right or not.
Didn't love it ..but I didn't really hate it either. There were a lot of unnecessary, slow and draggy scenes that…
I've also found it a bit predictable (I easily predicted who was the mastermind, but I'm quite intuitive while watching shows like this so others maybe enjoyed this guessing game more than me).
I've enjoyed this show, but it didn't have that "wow" factor and some of the scenes or characters were unnecessary or it didn't feel like they had any purpose. I don't know whether the production is planning a season 2, but some parts of the plot definitely needed clarification/closure as they probably left many viewers (like me) unsatisfied.
And the fact that this show is so similar to the Japanese movie "As the Gods Will" definitely doesn't help with its review (the issue is also whether it should be considered as plagiarised or not). When I started watching I had this feeling of deja vu, but couldn't realize where I've seen something so familiar. I've also seen Alice in Borderland, but find it rather different (except for the game element and bloody scenes).
How come every new episode is better than the previous one? I'm soooo in love.I've had a pretty stressful couple…
Moreover, I know that some people may consider this "childhood connection" trope as overused, but I think it's being done pretty nicely so far. For now, it seems that they are not aware that they met twice in the past.
Does anyone ever wonder how many connections like that every single one of us actually has? I bet we meet people more than once in our lifetime, but most of the time we simply don't remember.

I've had a pretty stressful couple of days recently and watching this drama is really healing me. I wish I could spend some time at the seaside village enjoying a simple life like Hong Doo Shik and being completely cut off from the big city life.
This season was completely unnecessary. I decided to watch it regardless of my reservations just because I've wanted to know the ending, but I'm utterly disappointed. I've wasted my time (it was expected tbh).
Considering the past issues that were brought to light about her private life (which I couldn't care less) there is no way that this script was given to her just only because she's a good actress.
I will pass on this one unfortunately as I'm not a fan of such a blatant way of using the connections. It's such a shame as there are many talented actresses out there and Park Byung Eun is great.
This drama really warms my heart and at the same time, it's funny. I really like how natural and effortless all interactions are. What is more, it also addresses some social issues like parents' well-being (yesterday) and sexual harassment (today), but not in an intrusive manner.
This show could last even 2 hours and that wouldn't be enough to see Hye Jin and Doo Shik bickering. And dimples!
It's going to be so difficult to wait another 5 days for a new episode.
I came back here just to say that regardless of whether we found this drama annoying, frustrating or amazing, the OST is a pure gem. I'm still enjoying it a lot!
And one of Gongjin's mysteries got solved out!

The only good part of this show was acting/cast.

I really like the slow pace of this drama and how comforting it is, but it all feels like the calm before the storm.
