I'm starting to get flashbacks from the Dear HyeRi days, lol. You have a couple with trauma and baggage trying to come to terms with their past. And because they suck at communication its going to be unnecessarily emotionally difficult.

Meanwhile I'm continually distracted by the upbeat b-plots: does the librarian friend fancy the guy from the tractor? What trouble is the SFL who liberates puppies in her free time going to get up to? Is the SML going to have another plot beyond being in love with the FL? And hopefully the FL achieves professional success.

And with her being completely out of communication over the years, there's nothing preventing him from jumping to the conclusion that they've been together since then. Sigh.

Since we're not getting a definitive answer beyond the generic old, childhood friends. I will continue to spread my propoganda that I think their parents have some kind of history (without them actually being biologically related).

Its why at the funeral the village elders were talking about how inappropriate it was that both his mum and her dad continued to stay at the village and one of them should have left. Also that sneering comment by GH to her dad about him looking like the mother's husband when he helped her up after she fell.

Wait, so is Yeon Su the only one who made the connection that Seok Gyeong and Gang Hui have already met before? Have the other two not made that connection? Heaven forbid someone truly meets for the first time during a drama, lol.

Brown eyes are dominant but from what I understand (although I haven't done genetics in a while) eye colour inheritance is much more complicated than the brown dominant, blue recessive punnett squares they drilled us with in all our science classes. I think there are 16(?) genes that decide the final colour so its not always that clear cut.

Like you say, not likely but again that doesn't mean its impossible. It's plausible enough that I'm choosing to unquestioningly go with that bit, lol. I'm sure I'm going to get stuck on another detail at some point.

Might even be ex step cousins, since we really don't know the family tree beyond the grandfather that they seem to weirdly share.

I don't think they're going to be biologically related (because they can't surprise us with that twist).
From the gossiping older people at the grand father's funeral, my theory is that they may have been related through marriage at some point (her dad and his mum?). But as his mother is absent from the funeral because shes getting married, they're not together anymore.

A matchmaking drama with so much suspense and plotting, lmao.

Hopefully with I Na openly making a move against the twins, Cheol Hui can finally tell her to go away. And we can stop being subjected to more awkward dates.

After both Gang Ju and his mother admitted that they would choose the chairman over each other, I now so badly want them to finally give up on him and stick together.

Come on, Gang Ju's mother redeem yourself!

With him gone, I'm just waiting for her to crash and burn professionally. With that attitude, your talent can only take you so far.

Was there a different synopsis somewhere? Because the one on here is pretty clear about what outcome to expect. With how the synopsis was written, I actually expected them to reach this point around E6 (because who she was going to choose never seemed like a mystery to be spoiled). Maybe that was the problem? They let the negativity fester by dragging things out while focusing on the clever visuals. The drama has been clever at not instantly revealing information but the tone has never suggested that they were going to pull a "you thought this was the main lead? well think again?!!!"

Also there's a pretty good chance that at the end they're going to throw everyone's favourite Ju Yeon at Hye Yeon (whom few seem to like). Her 2FL character literally has no other point (which I hate for her, but that's another story).

Apparently the last two episodes have aired on the premium streaming service, yes.

Since we're making up our own endings now- my pairing that will never happen is Hye Yeon and Ji On, lol.
They both amuse me as individual characters and deserve better than pining over someone who doesn't reciprocate their feelings.

I hope so too! With the tone of the drama, they could easily go "it doesn't matter what happened to her- just that she's gone and this is how Eun Ho makes peace with this uncertainty."

But I must know what happened! That will be my point of outrage.

Ji On's "You've literally only known her for a month and have ulterior motives, how can you be her caretaker" was everything I was thinking and more at that time.

Ah well.

The rating has dropped, you're right, but its been pretty consistent-it went to 8.3 and back down to 8.1 again.
I just think its interesting people are giving the drama a chance. I've watched dramas (cough, the impossible heir) where the rating was just in constant free fall.

I know, I've been wondering the same thing actually. Or is it that people are holding on to hope and the rating is going to tank next week when everyone is inevitably disappointed?

Its not completely impossible, I think.

Every now and then dramas like to pair up spare characters with very minimal build up. I'm starting to think this one won't have a very satisfying end so who knows where they're going.

I think you're right! Only I'm leaning towards we actually might not even see Hye Ri anymore- the unaired scenes could be flashbacks.
But agreed we're in the last third so it makes sense to focus more on Eun Ho and how she learns to process her trauma and how she heals/moves on. Personally I think that it would be hard for Eun Ho to heal if Hye Ri is a constant presence.

Its interesting stuff but I imagine if viewers were invested in the Hye Ri character they would feel a little cheated with this resolution.

That conversation was kind of a summary of my discomfort with the whole Ju Yeon/Hye Ri relationship from day one. Hye Ri doesn't seem to exist beyond being in love with Ju Yeon. So their relationship was unbalanced because basically it was Ju Yeon trauma dumping so he didn't have to deal with his own problems. Maybe he does love Hye Ri, but that's only because she "loved" him first.
I thought we had moved past the beautiful but broken archetype who just needs love and support from the right woman that will fix him. Ju Yeon needs to put on his big boy pants and be the hero he needs.

On some subconscious level, I think 'Hye Ri' chose Ju Yeon to fixate on because he was the anti-Hyeon O.
