Ok, so it was a successful short 3 mins drama in 2025, now it is being repackaged into a longer drama with more…
No, it was a really popular novel which got purchased by multiple companies to produce IPs like a donghua, manhua, short drama and this full length drama.

I love how Xie Yong'er is styled in this! The simple hair with no ornaments which makes her seem perfectly elegant yet innocent, that's how a true "female lead" is supposed to look! The show is doing a great job in portraying all the cliches.

It lasts like 1 episode lol. And it's barely a breakup since they're talking to each other the whole time.

Unpopular opinion but I love the technicality in this drama. Being an architect it's so fun seeing it depicted so well, although a bit on the high-end glam spectrum. Also Shine on Me! I have a Master's degree in Sustainable Building and it's all about solar PV panels. Solar Energy is one of the most essential technologies for a livable future. A lot of people called it Chinese propoganda and tbh I was slightly offended because ya'll actually need to know about this. It's the most basic method for cutting non-renewable electricity consumption. Chinese dramas always highlight their prestige in scientific development and I think that's way more educational and important than stories about imaginary worlds and creatures. Rather than propoganda it's more encouraging and spreading awareness.

Bruh I don't understand the hate for SML. He's not even that complex to understand. I'm convinced people here are either 12 or take everything at face value.

Feels like the writer had a vision of the drama both starting and ending with a dynamite kiss in Jeju. Then she filled the in-between with all the tropes available in the kdrama market.

I'm one of the few people who loved the second half more than the first. I just love it when characters go through a separation and mature enough to understand each other's hardships. Not to mention He Yu nailing that yearner role and ofc Esther did wonderfully too.

Ya'll need to understand that Jin Zhao isn't running away for her sake or out of noble idiocy. It's because he hates his disability and it makes him embarrassed of himself. Imagine a young girl who loves and idolises you seeing you as a wreck. Not to mention she had everything and he had nothing to his name. Even his body was gone. He disappeared because he didn't feel worthy enough. The only reason he can face her now is because he's working hard to look physically 'normal' and getting education. It's his own insecurity that's hurting him. Not the fact that he would be a burden to her.

Title Speed and Love Spoiler
why!? is it because of his health!? so he doesn't want her to suffer because of him !? thank you I like spoilers
It's because he doesn't like it when she gets sad over his leg and tries to help him. She feels guilty for not being there for him when he was sick and he feels embarrassed to look weak in front of her. It's just sooo heavy and complicated and it takes a while for them to get used to it. You realise he didn't push her away to avoid being a burden but rather because he hates his disabled self. That's why he tries so hard to get better and look normal in front of her. Understandable since she's always depended on and looked up to him. I cried in those scenes more than any other tbh.

I'm glad I read the book because it's so nice to understand both of their perspectives clearly. And SPOILER the angst kinda doesn't end even after they get together again ITS SO FREAKING EMOTIONAL

Esther is seriously great at doing emotional scenes. And she's also good at serious roles based on MJTY. Bubbly and goofy characters she does well. She's just awkward at scenes where she's supposed to be shy. He Yu is all panting and one second away from losing control and she's just like a wooden board. She can't portray shyness well. I really like Esther and never miss any of her dramas but some scenes here are really not for her. I can tell she's trying but it doesn't translate well on camera.

I was rewatching the previews, and one thing I'm little worried about is the change of Xie Zheng personality. In…
Yeah I think it's for the romcom factor but I like it, since the way Xie Zheng falls for Changyu is easy to understand in the book because we read his thoughts, but tough to show on screen. So little acts of physical affection might smoothen the abrupt portrayal of his feelings.

omg they only lived together until female lead was 9 and the mother never accepted himas her son or FL brother.…
They didn't know each other for nine years though. The FL's dad gets him when she's like 6 or something. The ML's parents die or something like that so her dad takes him in without his wife's consent which eventually leads to their divorce a couple of years later. The leads don't really spend much time together before they are separated. They always knew they weren't siblings.
