Saint is his usual adorable self and Orn is too cute. I’m only 5 eps in, but I’m really enjoying this more…
Yeah, Junior and Leng take a loooooooot of getting used to. I'm still not keen on them and prefer the Korean counterparts instead, but I put up with them for Saint and Orn. They were so stinking adorable in Let's Fight Ghost!
Generalizing a nation's entertainment industry this way does not help in trying to equalize and make My Drama List a place where viewers of Japanese entertainment feel like they want to hang out. I've seen over 100 Japanese dramas and movies. I love their entertainment and their style. But you literally just decreased their value in two or three sentences. What do you expect? Japan to be making dramas the way Korea or China does? They don't. They do their own thing. And for some viewers, that's the style we like. It doesn't mean they have less quality about them. It just means they're different. I'm glad you've found 1 out of the 5 Japanese dramas you've watched that meets your quality expectations. I recommend you keep watching more, and go into their dramas without the expectation that you're going to be watching a CDrama in terms of style.
Thanks for the article. Like other comments, it's nice and important to see Lakorns listed that aren't BL. Color-coding the different genres might also be helpful for future articles.
Really love it. I love the ending not straight forward but not too ambiguous. The production and the story is…
It's not that Jdramas are poor quality. It's that they're usually not marketing to international audiences like Kdramas. I've seen a ton of brilliant Jdramas, but folks just aren't watching them. Alice in Borderland is a unique phenomenon in that it's so popular, but it's not necessarily a higher production quality than others I've watched.
Thanks for such a comprehensive list, it's much appreciated. Love, love, love the color cording, that helps immensely. I wish Channel 3 would be as aware of their international fans as GMMTV is. *sighs*
So sad the rating is so low. 8.2 isn't terrible but it deserves a much higher rating. It's one of the sweetest, most relaxing dramas I've ever seen. I love how original it feels!
I think I went into this expecting something like Squid Games, and got something totally unexpected. The games…
Yeah, Yamapi was definitely something else, and for 2 1/2 episodes no less! First time seeing him naked in the 10+ years I've been watching his dramas! 👀
Hey 👋 Can you help me choose the best drama in this form? It's the last voting , and you have to chose from…
Well, I don't know about other folks watching AiB, but I don't watch enough Korean dramas to vote on your list. I didn't recognize anything. I'm almost strictly a Japanese and Thai drama watcher, though. So you might need to put that over on a newly released Kdrama instead, just a thought.
True. As we all know, though, Jdramas never get the ratings they deserve. 8.9 is crazy high for a Jdrama, even though if it was a Kdrama it would be a 9.3 at least. Stats are weird things.
Okay, so one thing I was sort of expecting but not really . . .
Yamapi! He looks like Michelangelo's David! What must that have been like for literally everybody with him running around naked for enough filming to make up 2 1/2 episodes!? What's even crazier is that once I adjusted to the shock, I actually forgot he was naked sometimes. Such a weird thing. And when I say shock, know it's because I've been his fan for over a decade at this point and was quite happy to go my entire life without ever seeing his ass. It's a gorgeous ass, but still, that was a shocker.
Actually, it was thrown way earlier but it became glaringly apparent in the last episode. The one thing I did…
Truer words were never spoken. I like documentaries about serial killers if they focus on humanizing the victims. Netflix's Bundy tapes didn't do that nearly well enough, but their Dahmer and Gacy tapes did a better job of reminding the audience that the victims are truly victims and deserve to be remembered.
Somebody was trying to make me empathize with the killers and when that happens, I'm out.
A note to watchers, if you're going to drop it, try "Curse" and "A Walk in School" first. Those are, imo, the undeniable best of the series and they're also, weirdly, placed at the end.
