Not the greatest, but I’ve seen worse. Being here in the US, I’m just happy to have them. Also, for my aging eyes, they could be a little bigger, but that’s just me :)

I've never read the book but this looks so damn good. more productions set in Japanese history pls!!
I just rewatched the 1980 original. If you haven’t seen it, you can find it at the link I posted down below.

This is a more simplistic version than the new appears to be, so it might help you :)

Western production mostly. But these days getting very common like in Tokyo Vice too.
Waiting an eternity for the second season lol maybe by then I will have read the book!

😃 I loved Pachinko, but of course … Lee Min Ho fan here lol. I did buy the book but haven’t started it yet, I’m a sworn binge watcher, but being that Shogun will be on network TV for me, I won’t be able to do that. Sighhhhh. I’m just realizing now that the woman who plays Mariko was also in Pachinko!

I would not let that deter you. Don’t forget Pachinko was an American production and partly filmed in Canada. Shogun is getting incredible early reviews and features some of Japan’s most renowned actors. At least watch the first two episodes … you can always bail :)
