I like how they combined the flag competition and the wolve attack into single scene, guess they need to shorten things. At least they have kept the main themes. FL is doing well with her shameless banter - fitting the role well.
They changed the story line but I can't complain the whole death and army arc would take 30 episodes. Hahaha
I suppose they had to, otherwise we'd have to see her re-train all over again š Having her also not die and resurrect into someone else also shortened things too.
Anyone know if they shortened the eps on purpose? 35 min is pretty short and we only have 36 eps
Novel is short for 260+ chapters and at 35+ mins per episode this will be a real quick drama š My hope is they stay true to the main themes in the novel
Overall I think this is quite well adapted from the novel (9.5/10), the villains (Yan Han, Yan Ze, Yan Qi, etc.) stayed the same and got their rightful endings. Novel ending would have taken a 2nd series to cover and I get the re-write might feel rushed but it actually turned out well.
It's to bad they killed off Yan Che/Qin Xiang/Empress in this ending but hey - I'm ok with that š
Figured that Prince Sui would be Emperor in re-write and Yan Chi would be regent as that was the best alternate ending from novel.
Even I wanna know what happened to them in the novel. Qin Shuang might end up with the guard who I think might…
Agree, never sure what those scriptwriters will do with the adaptation, what's for sure is there isn't enough episodes left to cover all that's left in the novel.
Although I'm sure they will get to the part where Empress/CP is dethroned by Emperor

Novel ending for cousins - Qin Xiang as you saw is the concubine to Yan Qi, she miscarries due to conflict with ChenBi. In the end, Yan Qi is killed and she leaves capital.
Qin Shuang marries the Imperial Guard, they are both happy and stay in the capital in the end.
I started watching this drama today. While watching episode 2, there was a scene with the bridal sedan where Hou…
ahh, it was covered in the novel. Qin Wan needed to remove septic bile fluid from Princess stomach. As for the blade "Han Yue" or cold moon, is the blade (used to make the incision for surgery) that belongs to Yan Chi who promised to gift the blade to Qin Wan if she can save his grand-aunt.
