I think Kill Me Love Me is still a great drama. They have game of thrones schemes between Murong Jinghe and Crown Prince. And it's pretty intense with a lot of politics schemes and fighting scenes until episode 26 when Crown Prince is finally defeated. After that, the story moved into Xiyan Kingdom arc when FL n 2nd ML got political marriage alliance, and it's more into war between Yan Dynasty vs Xiyan Kingdom.

I think KMLM with romance + politics are still very great. They just can't follow MRJH character in the novel because it's too crazy like maniac. The drama adapted the story into decent Murong Jinghe with more compassions and love.

It's subjective matters. I think current Chinese dramas (from 2018 until now) are BETTER than past dramas. Just look at many aspects of the productions. Better cinematography, better production designs, better stories, better camera works, better acting & directing, better costumes, better make up, better and bigger sets, better visuals (actors and actresses appearances), better technical aspects (lighting, sounds, etc), better romance scenes, better kissing scenes, higher budgets, and etc many more.

Who said that? Many Chinese dramas have great moments of romance. They are building the relationship through long episodes. It's NOT "instant" like you said. We are aware of their romance progress. For examples Blossom, The Prisoner of Beauty, Love Like The Galaxy, Blossoms in Adversity, Story of Kunning Palace, Wonderland of Love, A Journey to Love, Who Rules The World, The Double, and etc many more. Even Kill Me Love Me has great moments that showed how main couple are falling in love to each other in their journey.

Oh I know what you meant, both Story of Kunning Palace and Kill Me Love Me had (great) forced kisses but after the main couple feelings are becoming true + they fall in love to each other, they kiss each other passionately with long durations + mouth movements.
