Maybe you should watch costume/historical dramas more (I already saw your list) so you will see that many Costume dramas also have passionate kissing + love scenes between leads. Their romance stories are also more beautiful and deeper with all the journey and strong chemistry between leads.

Plus, short costume dramas have wilder kissing scenes especially Dai Gao Zheng dramas, Yan Zhi Xian dramas, Li Fei dramas, Chen Fang Tong dramas, He Xuan Lin dramas, Hu Yi Yao dramas, etc.

Also, Costume dramas are well known for their great and deep love stories + strong chemistry between leads. For example Blossom, The Prisoner of Beauty, Story of Kunning Palace, The Double, Coroner's Diary, Love Like The Galaxy, Kill Me Love Me, LOTFG, and etc.

For example Story of Kunning Palace, Blossom, The Prisoner of Beauty, Coroner's Diary, Love Like The Galaxy, and etc many more. If I need to mention all Chinese dramas with happy ending, then I have to write many pages of them. It's because there are SO MANY CHINESE COSTUME DRAMAS WITH HAPPY ENDING.

For me, KMLM sad ending is more acceptable and natural than The Double open ending with special (forced) episode.

Even though KMLM had sad ending, but it's still a great watch with satisfying journey and beautiful love.
