Worth the emotional roller coaster
I remember watching the first episode of "Hi Bye, Mama" about three years ago, and after watching it, I knew I wasn’t going to continue with the series. It’s not because it was bad, on the contrary, the story and the acting were brilliant. However, it was so sad that I couldn't stop crying while watching that first episode. I realised it would make me cry every single time, so I decided to spare myself that pain.
After all this time, I finally watched the series, and I was absolutely right; each episode made me cry several times. I felt so bad and was deeply affected by the emotional weight of the story. I still have a lingering feeling of not being able to come to terms with the story's ending.
To say this drama is brilliant doesn’t do it justice. The story is undeniably sad, no matter how you look at it, it’s heartbreaking for everyone involved: the mother, the stepmother, the child, the father, the friends, and the parents. It’s just so heavy and emotional, one of those stories that seems designed to tear you apart.
I don’t want to give away too many spoilers, but I highly recommend this story. Just be prepared to cry. I don’t think I’ve watched another drama that made me this sad in a while. It was hard to watch, but what a masterpiece it is!
