This has an authenticity that is so rare, that nothing is really as simple and as clear cut as it seems and where money and power are concerned people will put their children last if they are going to lose it. Granny is annoying, but I have known older women who are even more sheep like manipulative than that, I think the sweet whispered voice is a method of getting you to listen to them, and being selectively deaf and oblivious a way to ignore things they want to ignore. I think she knows exactly what's going on. Her son and DIL didn't get that way on their own.
I know it's trivial but I love the wardrobe choices, and how clothes represent class, status and competition. I also like how you are still guessing what FL real personality is, that her choices are based on the reaction she wants from others, and the understated performance makes you want to know more. You know she weighs everything before doing anything and often doing very little is often her most effective tool. It just nice to see a female character not looking and sounding stupid.
You wrote it so I didn't have to. Its had to get upset about poorly made food or excited about something you can not taste. I know, lets forget the actors and script and have a cooking show, they are a lot cheaper to produce.

Without the cute factor the script was just dull, the story was not just convincing. I think who ever was producing it was not wanting to take them out of their comfort zone and they are both better actors than the material.
I like all the performances, and its great to have something that's portrays less than perfect. My stand out though, is Mond, his acting his like a big cat, being able to flick quickly in portraying emotions, without seeming to do much.
I think I am going to drop this. I like Park Min Young, I think I have watched most her dramas but it looks like the direction was act like your manic, and literally in your face and the character needs some ADHD meds. I am not sure if it's supposed to be quirky or funny, but it doesn't work for me. The editing has the same jumpy lack of focus,
Ordinary people living in extraordinary times. My family two generations ago worked coal mining, my grandfather went down the mine at fourteen, my grandma had a coal fired range to cook and heat water on and brought you seven children, and in comparison to the people in this drama she had an easy life. Having watched a few older Chinese dramas it easy to see why the same plot lines occur, because adversity and perhaps the need to preserve your families wealth to preserve your family was ingrained. from a childhood where surviving was the main objective. Its beautifully shot and acted, they all look as if they work in the fields, and if anyone thinks its not realistic I would suggest the hard graft is under played rather than over played, and perhaps to people living our modern bubbles where the realities of death and disease can be filtered it may seem harsh. The end perhaps is rushed, I wanted to see where all of the characters ended up, like in Pachinko.
I have watched 4 eps, and I think I will skip to the end. It's so well crafted in its production and acting but I feel I have see it all before and I couldn't care less about any of the characters, and I am old enough to remember that time, so its not because I do not understand the issues. Its not funny and TBH the scene tying the male actor up was just the pits, transfer your victimhood to someone else, is that really female empowerment? IME that is not how normal women think. I like none of the characters, I find none interesting and needs humour, because that is usually how the underdog subverts any sort oppression. I think its completely missed the mark.

Normally we only think over the if onlys of life, the main characters work through them in this. Who ever directed theatre sequences did a good job, usually they come across as cringe with cod acting. It is perhaps who of the most original and thought provoking dramas I watched last year, so much so I can remember whole scenes a year later.
There is so much of this I loved, it gave a great feeling of place and time and reminded me of old style BBC adaptions of novels, before they became big budget productions, a charming simplicity. The backdrop to the main story was great, and the side couple story added to it. The idea of being literally lovestruck and finding that you have things in common. My but is the last two episodes, particularly episode 12 , which was over stuffed with tropes so it degraded what went before, one of which almost made me laugh out loud it was so lame. The productions that have worked well this year I think have worked well this year give a sense of place, not just a story set in a generic setting.
OK its simple fun, but its very well written and all the couple stories are integrated really well, and hidden in some of the sugary -ness there are some realistic themes about loss and suppressed grief. That sometimes what you need change and it's no ones fault, and now two relationships are the same. It's one if you want to fill an hour you can pick up one of the stories again. I have to admit my favourite character is Po, because I think he is a bit like a lot of us at that age, trying to catch up with everyone else, and some how it doesn't work out quite how he imagined.
I wanted to rate this higher but it was bit like a dimmed light bulb or a meal that needs salt, good ingredients, nicely made but just lacking. I nearly cared, I really wanted to care but in the end, it needed a bit more dramatic tension of any sort, it was all too reasonable,
i not seen this yet but there are indian males who are suppose to be school boys with full on beards and moutaches.…
I used to work in a school and some teenagers look in their twenties and some look about twelve even when they are eighteen, its just everyone develops at different rates, and genetics.
So far it looks amazing, proper cinema photography and editing. I hate programmes about food, but this if fun, has the feel of a proper rom com with edge.
Its long and for the most part most of the story doesn't flag, although I could have done without most of the eps about FL school days. A fairly realistic portrayal of recovering after a head trauma, and going through the phases to relearn skills. I loved depiction of young men who like real life are constantly grazing like bullocks. Of course the main leads are amazing.
One of the most consistently funny dramas ever, some scenes are just comedy gold even if you have seen them multiple times. I think the FL is not frightened of using her face for comic effect, and that makes it human and relatable. I am not sure losing weight is perhaps a good goal for weight lifter unless they are deliberatly wanting to get in to a lower weight division.
