I loved this because it was sort of normal revenge, the sort where the dog suddenly chews up important documents, or pees on his suit, basically f!cks over his and her life with a smile of concern on your face, with a frisson of the thrill of you shouldn't be doing this really..
Agatha Christie but without a happy ending. I think for some this will be hard to like because there are no real hero's, every one at some level is sick and twisted, and there is violence on a casual domestic scale. All I can say is as couple watching we both felt it was a well made and interesting story, and worth the watch. It's one of those that sticks in my mind because having seen what money has made people do in my own family, apart from the violence its perhaps for grounded in reality than most.
This was my Saturday afternoon watch. I defy anyone not to cry. I suppose what I was most impressed about was the unflinching look at death and dying, no Hollywood gloss, and how families can be stuck in the rut made by the past. I found the saddest part the confrontation between Grandma and her brother, The acting all round was very good but, Billkin is a master of the face of an absolute shit, and in a split second you somehow see a window in him that makes you sympathetic towards him.
Just brilliant. Its rare that a drama is so complete in its script and story telling, combined with characters who are easily identifiable from real life and great acting. The fact that that the 'bad' characters are what I would call normally flawed, where there is money in a family, there is always a chance of a rift, and the 'good' characters are also flawed but somehow manage to be likeable is a rare feat. Each character wants to make a better life for themselves, and I suppose it's the one's who care most about the people around them that truly get a better life. The end for me was true to reality, in life often things are not neatly tied up wish list.
Not really, you spend a lot of time worrying about mud/too dry, and do we have too much grass or not enough. As they poop about eight times a day, there is a lot of poop to get rid of.
Well as they say in Yorkshire, it's proper..... good. I am not a fanatical fan of GMTV, its just brilliant to see the amount of quality production that has been put in to this. If I had a tiny gripe why use a cremello horse? I have one and they are not photogenic, that’s why Gelderlanders and Andalusians are used a lot, because they always look good on camera. I am just crossing fingers for the writing.
He reminds me of my FIL, charming but completely selfish and self interested. Thinks he is better than the people around him, because his parents probably treated him as the golden child, and typical of some academics I have known. Anyone who flatters their ego or agrees with them must be a better person. My MIL was a very intelligent women, but she wasn't even allowed to buy a new cooker, yet FIL could buy the latest camera because he did competitions.
Just finished, and perhaps apart from some things a pretty realistic take on modern life and the dating market. I married young so a lot of the problems of left behind women who have made the choice to have career and then when they want to settle down they are competing with younger women, for the 10% of men they think are worth having, have not concerned me. I think the writer was making some good points in an easy to swallow pill. To some men women are a flavour to be tried and moved on to the next, the swipe right reaction, there is always someone better coming along, and perhaps twenty years younger. Geng Le portrays self interested sexual slime well. The chemistry between the two leads was good, but I actually think I would have dumped him. How can you trust someone who is that uncertain? The only bit I really hated was the convention of the deluded women who has to chase down someone else's boyfriend, and the girlfriend is left to sort her out. Not cool. Office politics I find a bit boring, or I would have rated it higher.
11 episodes seems perfect to me because crime thriller like mouse, beyond evil, tunnel, even though they are considered…
Mouse we skipped to the end and decided that we hadn't missed much. Whole sections were pointless because we had already worked out the ending. Now something like Flower Evil, every twist added to the depth of the story. Just finished Strangers from Hell and I do not think an ep was wasted in the layering of story telling.
I didn't know her untill I watch this show and I have to say, she is amazing. It has been a while to see a chinese…
I am a lover of set dressing, a lot of these dramas the sets look they have just rented a job lob of furniture. In this the home reflects her. What is on show is flashy, the private spaces look lived in, and the kitchen is non flashy and a proper working kitchen.
If you if you take the plot seriously its basically not good, but the actors sell it well and it looks beautiful. So park your brain and enjoy the ride.
Well its a wow from me. I knew Betty Sun was a good actress, but she is amazing in this, she can be funny, calculating and devastatingly desperate in the same scene. The husband reminds of so many men who have a wife to do the heavy lifting so they are protected from the realities of life. Looks nice on the outside but basically a selfish parasite. Who ever wrote this has met them.
My husband had only seen him in darker ones, he likes action movies, so I have made him watch Divorce Insurance. When you look at what 'normal' people do the story is a not so far fetched.
