I **really** need Gun to hold Yotha accountable for him kissing Wa. Even though we as the audience know why they…
I actually think Gun not confronting him is good thing, because he has time to process what he has seen, he has never experienced this before, and the fact he does not argue with Yotha gives Yotha nothing to fight against, which seems is the only way he 'solves' problems. If arguing with Yotha worked he wouldn't be in this mess, he because he expects to be hurt, so he come out swinging and makes every thing worse. Gun has put him on the naughty step, which is basically how you teach small children good behavior and how to play nicely without violence.
Dramas that are the most human and real are always the best. Human villains are simply more terrifying than cartoonish…
I watched a Chinese commentator on Youtube, I think she is Chinese, and her opinion was culturally they can never allow themselves to admit they are wrong, so its hard to accept others ideas. As a mum the greatest kick is when you have taught your daughters something and they are so much better at it than you, and learning how they think of different ways to do things. My daughter has just had her first baby, I think the only thing I hope I have taught her is to do what works for her, and as long as you have thought something through you made the best choice you could at that time.
I am so impressed with the script, starts of as something pretty much standard, you can almost see the plots points and then diverges in to a road trip movie, is perhaps more sexy than Taming of the Shew but It Happened One Night (1934), when word play was more foreplay because of the Hayes Code. http://www.thecinessential.com/it-happened-one-night/modern-romantic-comedy
We completed it last night, watched over two days. We watch a lot of action movies, and if we had know how good it was going to be we would have watched in one go on a afternoon. It basically a movie divided up, and if you like blood and a plot that keeps pushing forward, with a bit of black humor, no stupid side plots, and no tagged on token romance, its great entertainment. I think the confusion in the plot, which is pretty simple is basically down to costume design, they all look the same, which I supposed is the point of the film. Who are the 'good' guys?
It gives me the vibe of a watered down fifty shades of gray XDNot my cup of tea at all.
Now if had a dose of Secretary (2002), that would have been interesting. All that time on my own and I would have been looking for ways to fill it. I would have started with a better wardrobe.
Spoiler Alert: This Show Is Ruining My Life (And Literary Analysis Skills)After Episode 7 of The Heart Killers,…
If you take modern drama reference its Wang Yang, who in The Fearless and Stand or Fall, his character takes 30eps to decide whether to screw them or screw them over. There is no fun in a knock out punch. Cleaning cupboards, I may come back to this.
Spoiler Alert: This Show Is Ruining My Life (And Literary Analysis Skills)After Episode 7 of The Heart Killers,…
Is it more Romeo and Juliet, two households both a like in dignity, both warring with two sets of two lovers, and guns instead of sword fight? Everyone forgets there are three killings in R&J If its was Shakespeare, who always played to the standing pit, we are missing the comedy side commentary, and the pop at the pompous. Where are Mark and Neo when you need them?
We can agree that this was a mess right? In good way (the brothers are so dramatic, why did you undress him Fadel?…
I can count on the fingers of one hand the amount of film and dramas that accurately depict moving a body, I have moved dead and unconscious humans, it a drama fantasy, like women wearing perfect make up in bed. I get the Kant/Bison impression but I think most men are very good at living their lives in compartments, what Kant may be saying is fake because he he saying something what he thinks he should say, not what he really feels. He has more at risk, his brother, so that is his reason for taking risks. IME men rarely tell you what they feel. Bison. You only torture what you care about, you want a reaction, the care may be hate, why spoil the fun killing them, you are regaining control. You want to demean that person to show how little they mean to you, or like a cat playing with a mouse you get a thrill from the experience. I actually thought the episode was interesting, relationships are often complicated, you can often hate parts of the person you love the most. If you slam a door in an argument, or in this plot kill someone, you to not get a further chance to vent, or make up.
This has been on my TBW list for a while. Having just tried to watch a few UK/US detective drama, this is so refreshing, The male is as usual brilliant.
Who every does the set dressing deserves and award. I don't think since Moonlight Chicken I have seen sets that actually looked lived in, so you get a sense of place and time. I hate songs as part of a plot, and usually skip them, but even the rap was not bad.
I watched this on Youtube with very poor subs, what kept me hooked was the acting. For some it would perhaps be really boring because there is not a lot of conflict, just people making the best of their life and sometimes making mistakes, and compromises they have to live with, so it perhaps it could have been to condensed to 30 eps. I just wish again the FL didn't have to be a passive saint.
Oh, The Heart Killers, you beautiful disaster. Episode 6 is the kind of angsty masterpiece that emotionally waterboards…
I so agree with this, There is something that I used to say to my children when they really peed me off, I love you but I do not really like you today, and that is how love is complex and this is a step up this year in how relationships are portrayed and I can understand why some people do not like it because everyone likes to feel safe, when the best drama is based on conflict or twisted love for either a person or power Everyone thinks Romeo and Juliet is a romantic story, when in it has six deaths, two by suicide, and Romeo kills two people. From the parents point of view R&J were selfish toads, likely to cause a civil war in an era that if you made the wrong alliance you could end up poisoned or your whole family executed. We only think its romantic because of the aspect of star crossed lovers pushed in more modern adaptions, of a play that has conflict at it's heart. I think the Nurse is a villain.
Everyone should watch this! I read the reviews, and most of them were unhappy about how the show didn’t focus…
W know or own or others motivations really. In life you may think you have done something for a reason, and then when you look back you have totally different perspective of why you did something, I think the trunk is a metaphor for all those things we keep locked inside ourselves, I certainly have mental box that I put negative feelings or bad experiences in, and as you get older the box gets bigger. I opened the box a little bit the other day, and had another thought about why something happened the way it did. The pregnancy was a bit of a box that was being opened, that realisation that you are not in control of your body, and will never be really in control of your life again, and she needed control. She may have walked in the road on impulse, and then took advantage of the situation as another pressure point for control. I my job I have to read people, I find what they do not say is often more important than what they do say.
I liked it but like @MianhaKdrama has said it ran out of steam and I think they could have cut four eps. Considering the age group it should be aimed at I do wish the trope that you can make someone love you if you try hard enough being binned. Its not a healthy thought for anyone to have and certainly not something that should be tried. The cast did a really good job.
I've read all comments over here... I guess about buying north's... I think this is the only way out of Johan…
My take is Johan has always been chased, and North who has little guile, and not really in to who does what and why, just didn't really get the message, the car phone scene, so Johan just stopped being subtle. If you have never really had to be nice to get what you want, people keep telling him you can not treat North the same as everyone else, you have fewer social skills, and used to pretty privilege. I think the money and being openly affectionate is just a way to force a choice, I think North is quite capable of telling him to go shove it, he didn't like the guy in the bar and was quite forceful. North has turned down at least three people so far, if he didn't like Johan he would have been angry, most of the time he is just been WTF perplexed.
I dropped or hit a reel with Johan and North brought me back. If I skip all the overly youthful scenes with Easter…
I hate BL partnerships but in this case Earth would perhaps benefit from being a couple, with the right partner. They just do not know what to do with him. The writing for this couple is the contrast between two shade of white, and being cute and a bit of a gossip is not really a life objective. Now if he could have played as a waspish with some killing lines, that would have interesting. North is just so better written, and most like a lot of the men I have known of that age.
Finished! Like a good novel I wanted to savoir it. I will be so disappointed if they do not finish the story, all the actors produced totally grounded believable performances, and you will have a heart of stone not to cry. Its great LMH has a chance to literally grow in to a part, makes everything else he has been in look a waste of his talent, Brad Pitt syndrome.
Its just life. When you talk to people you realise how many families, just get on with it. We have also had someone break in to the house with an axe, no one was harmed, and it becomes one of those stories that over time you hardly believe happened.
