I really hope the women have the upper hand by the end of the series otherwise I’ll be writing some strongly…
True. Putting the women in a totally submissive and powerless positions would have a high ick factor. Being handsome only goes so far if they're a walking poster for STDs

I agree I like the simpler rom com dramas come back. I'm going to start Doctor Cha because that looks promising too. I just want to sit back and enjoy not deal with worldly things especially in the US.

What is this about?
It's one of those 12 minute episode dramas. First episode a wife is accused of cheating when pregnant so when she delivers she's told her baby is not alive but in reality the baby is still alive and raised by the father

Title Akai Ringo
because it's on TV it's a watered down version of the manga. The nudity level is nowhere near of Call Boy
true but I think it might escalate as it goes on. Somewhere between PS. Partner kmovie and Call boy jmovie
On Akai Ringo Feb 13, 2023
Title Akai Ringo Spoiler
Browsing through it I'd say it's almost on the level of the jdrama Call Boy. Quite a bit of nudity, multiple cases of female teacher & minor activity, the club seems to be run by a twisted gangster guy and some violence involved. Might not be everyone's cup of tea.

I feel like Netflix is influencing what dramas are being made. What type of shows that the western or American…
I wasn't saying influenced like being woke I meant making something commercial for international western viewers. Something they would feel familiar with and taking out the uniqueness of dramas country of origin.

If Netflix is the gateway for viewers to discover dramas that's great but if the production lose quality in the process that's a problem.

Post Note: I'm 61, I don't watch Fox news, I'm not social conservative and I've been watching Asian dramas for 10 years and BLs for a year. Not someone who always needs sanitized dramas just don't prefer to watch dark or twisted dramas.

yeah...that was fucking heartbreaking, in the most beautiful of ways
Good but such a sad ending but D.O. is usually in sad movies.
On No Touching At All Apr 26, 2022
I actually liked this movie. It's not a cute BL but living within a society that isn't that accepting of gay people. The sex scenes were a bit awkward because they were trying to show the minimum amount of physical contact the conversations between the two men are interesting. The man who doesn't identify himself as gay in the relationship is the one who is the most open about his feelings and actions.

I had a hard time getting into it but I put a bit of logic on the shelf and have been enjoying it. I'm not sure where all the ugly is coming from. Seems to be popping up on drama sites. Today I was watching Crazy Love kdrama and some person came on saying he hated Krystal. I looked at his account on that site and he's pretty much a troll.

I personally know many Koreans who have volunteered in Africa for a year and the photos they have posted were…
I think you are right but the vibe is off in these scenes. I don't know how to describe it. I have a family member who works with women in Nepal and she mostly posts photos of her personal connections with the Nepali women who she is working within the organization. Not really any photos of the poverty. The goal is to help women understand about their rights.

I’m sorry to hear that but not totally surprised.
It seems to be the energy out in the world right now or at least in the US. It's been kind of an ugly time in the US with human rights going backwards because of bigoted people. I was just surprised it started showing up on drama sites where people tend to be more open.

Good drama but Africa being displayed like that kinda throws me off. There are so many countries in Africa that…
I think that the part about Africa was not a good move on the part of the scriptwriter but this script had to go up the chain and no one saw a problem with it. Maybe if the scenes were not so stereotypical it might have worked better. It just sort of leaves a bad taste after the past years of so many dramas portraying people of color in a lesser light. Maybe some of the new kdrama watchers are unaware of how bad non korean characters were written including American characters white and black.

It's not completely without humor. I'm up to episode 3 and he's just now figuring out what women go through in life and at his company. He gets relegated to "women's work" roles at his workplace. I say women's work because his female co-worker is the one who has to clean up after staff meetings while the men just walk out.

Some of the comments in this comment section is kind of ugly. I've started noticing more bigoted commenters cropping up on various sites. I hope this isn't a new trend because drama sites have always been a place for respectful open discussion even if we don't always agree.
