@Sey omg Yue Qi has been killing it in his scenes and dialogs!! I love all of his cheeky sarcastic comments too...like before they left Chang An he said to YWY "what other reasons could there be for you to go to YanBei?? Ohh there is also someone who you care about that's there...". He's so cute he's totally playing the younger brother role to YWY!!

@Jamie you are right I think they did use some moments in the book for earlier scenes in the series...but I'm disappointed that they didn't let YWY's character to fully play out because according to the book YWY's character is someone who's complex but at the same time very deep...sighs...

Ohh yes I remember a scene in the book towards the end where Xinger looks around and thinks to herself "my world is actually very small, I'm in a arms of the man who loves me and my son is in give room just right across from me...".

LoL I was reading the comments of episode 65 on YouTube and there are rampant discussions about possibility of season 2 and that the original cast will change and one commenter said "can we send the director to the After Life Camp??" Omg I literally chuckled out loud hahaha...I couldn't agree more!! I feel like the director of this show got drunk and never woke up or something because the first half of the show was so good and this last half is "ehh"!!

My comment kept getting truncated so here's the rest of my previous comment related to YWY's private thoughts...

Ohh yah I also forgot to mention that YWY also said (in his mind) that he wants to use this world that was offered to him to prove to her that for him in his heart she's the most important thing and to him the only thing that he is most nervous about and makes him fear is the possibility of losing her...

This point is endearing but almost ironic in a way because later on after they have gotten together he thinks to himself "everybody has a kryptonite, for some it's power, for some it's money, but for him his kryptonite is one person"...and then later after they have their first kid YWY again thought to himself "now for him his kryptonite is 2 people"...lol there are soooo many good conversations and private thoughts in the book that would make really good materials for the show I still can't understand why they didn't use many of them!! Frustrated with this director like the majority of the posts I've seen!!

Actually @Linh now that you mentioned this I do recall a part in the book where YX did propose to Xinger, but I don't remember how she replied (I really only care about the parts with YWY and Xinger) lol...you know what tonight when I get home I will type up all the sweet and happy moments between YWY and Xinger so that we can imagine their happy ending since it doesn't look like the show will give us a satisfying ending for these 2 love birds...and honestly I've never felt so bad and sad for a character like I have for YWY...I mean when I was watching ten miles of peach blossoms the part where Bai Qian didn't recognize YH I felt bad but at the same time I felt he deserved it because he was the one who took out her eyes!! But with YWY his love for Xinger is really a a selfless kind of love where he only wishes for her happiness and safety...
So here's another tid bit of info that will make you melt for our man YWY even more...at the end of the book, this is when the Wei king had died and Wei state was really unstable because of internal battle for the throne and outside there was threats of attacks from YanBei...YWY's father called him in and advised him to seize the opportunity to gain the throne since he already has the military power but this is what he replied to his dad "Wei state without me will have other generals...father without me will have other sons...but Xinger without me will have no one"...and after this he left his dad and Chang An...in his mind he further explained his rationale like this "everyone has their own ambition, some is after power, some is after money, for him the only thing that matters is her safety...he spent all this time fighting tirelessly to gain power so that he can protect the woman he loves, if she's not with him everything he has gained and conquered is meaningless"...

@Linh I don't know what he meant by that either but I think he implied that she would be queen of YanBei by choosing to stay in YanBei right?! I swear I'm getting annoyed with this girl Xinger lol...she needs to snap out of it and run back into the arms of our cold on the outside warm on the inside (or rather burning with passion for her on the inside) YWY!!

And they translated the convo between YWY and Xinger in the temple (in Vietnamese) and man oh man YWY's words are like a stab to the heart!! Xinger asked him why is he still in YanBei since it's very dangerous for him here and he replied "I guess I should change how I call you now...should I address you "YanBei Queen?" And then Xinger told him to take care of himself from now on and he said "don't worry...there's not many things that can hurt me...the only thing that can hurt me (pause and gives this agonizing look) will leave me real soon (referring to her)"...omg even my heart was breaking for him hearing that how can she not feel anything?! My poor YWY!!

Omg y'all now I really think they are going to have an open ending so they could continue with season 2!! I just saw the preview for episode 67 and YWY still hasn't fallen in the lake and there's a scene in the preview with YWY and CQ talking in the temple and that's the last episode?! In the book there's also a scene with CQ and YWY talking in the temple before saying goodbye and they won't reunite for a while later so maybe this is where they choose to end the drama...sooo disappointing!! I was reading comments from the Vietnamese channels and everybody expressed how unsatisfying and disappointing they have become with the show towards the end...all the commenters also agreed wirh us that the production company wasted so much time on irrelevant subplots and not enough on YWY and Xinger's relationship!! I think I will go back to watch the first 15 episodes of YWY and CQ at the green hills court!!

While I agree with you that Shawn Dou and Li Qin did an excellent job in portraying their characters I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment on LGX's performance because in my opinion he portrayed his YWY exactly how the character is described in the book. YWY is someone who doesn't express his feelings or emotions and it's not fair to compare him to Mark Zhao because while they are both cold characters Mark's YH personality is rather expressive, he shows anger, hurt, sadness, happiness, but YWY will not. In the book, even Xinger admitted that for as long as she has known him she has only seen him smile and laugh out loud 1 time (and this reason is due to her and it just shows how much he loves and treasures her). Xinger is able to see YWY's feelings by the look in his eyes (which is what LGX has been able to show very well) and by being able to feel his heartbeat when she gets close to him and this is the reason why not very many people can see what YWY is feeling because most cannot get close to him like Xinger can. Another point is that YWY did change a lot in 3 years, he has been more open with Xinger in telling her he wants to share her dreams with her and that he also needs her, the YWY from 3 years ago would be more reserve with verbalizing his feelings to Xinger. For me at lease I cannot see any other actors playing the role of YWY because I think LGX lived his character to perfection. But again there's nothing wrong with having different opinions, everybody has to have one. :)

The novel had a happy ending: YWY survived after the lake scene and in 2 years became a very strong and powerful force in terms of military and power...they reunited after a couple of meetings and got married and made beautiful babies that they spoiled rotten lol...lots of sweet scenes that I wished the drama would use but with only 3 episodes left and so many loose-ends I doubt that we will get any sweet moments at all...which is such a shame because the book is really good!! :(

Yup I'm right there with you...they really rushed through all of the important plot points...like how Xinger regained her memory is through a conversation with Mr. Wu?! What about her long lost Kung Fu?! I wish she would have discovered it a lot sooner and kick some serious ass with that Kung Fu but nooooo...instead of a strong heroin we get someone who gets hurt over and over and needs to be saved....I'm very disappointed in the character development of CQ...actually both CQ and YX...their versions in the book are a lot stronger and more determined...

Omg yes @Linh I feel the exact same way!! I think this drama has gone downhill...I wish they had stuck closer to the book because there were sooooo much good materials they could have used!! At the beginning we expected a strong heroin...but what we see is someone who can't even make up her mind!! Also...the YX in the book is someone who's a lot crueler and more calculated, not this person who lets his generals deceive and take advantage of his emotions...urghh I'm just annoyed at the characters development of the drama version...

I don't know if they'll have enough materials for season 2 because they've used up all the key points/plots and there's not much left really...unless season 2 will be all about YWY and Xinger living happily ever after raising beautiful babies lol...but if these scenes are not played out by Zhao Li Ying and Lin Gengxin then I'm not interested in watching hahaha because in my opinion nobody else can be YWY and Xinger other than these 2. :D

So I finally caught up with all the episodes and I could very well be wrong, but I THINK there won't be a season 2 because I don't think they have enough materials to cover season 2...all the poignant scenes or dialogs have already been used so that leaves very little for season 2 unless they are going to do a whole season with just sweet candy loving scenes for our couple which wouldn't qualify it for a drama because a drama needs to have drama lol...

If I remembered correctly, the conversation that Xinger had with YWY at the lake where she said "I've gone through a lot in my life, some things I've done right and some things I've done wrong, but I have no regret because I've always followed my heart and believes..." this convo actually happened AFTER the 2 years since YWY's death and AFTER they have reunited...in the book there was no long conversation at the lake, YWY got heavily injured and fell in and then Xinger jumped in to save him but he pushed her out instead...in the book, this convo took place after Xinger and YWY met up again after 2 years and they spent a few days sight seeing around town and then YWY had to leave for official business again and he didn't ask her to go with him but rather just let her choose what/where she wants to go/do...it wasn't until they meet AGAIN after this that he angrily asked her "are you following me to Qing Hai or not?!" and at this point she has already realized how much she loves YWY and that she could really lose him if she made him wait for too long that she yelled back "yes yes I'll follow you this time!!" It was later revealed in the book that the reason YWY didn't take her with him the 1st time they met up since the death lake scene was because Xiao Ce had advised YWY to "give her time to think/process things through as she has been through so much trauma with facing his death and then leaving YX who she also invested a lot of time and feelings in"...

@Linh: I actually typed out a really long summary of what happened during the 2 years after YWY's death lake scene but somehow it didn't get saved so when I have more time I'll type it out again for you...but there are a lot of sweet and meaningful scenes and convos during that time that I really wish the production company of PA would use instead of giving us that long dragged out scenes with the princess and soldiers fighting/bickering lol...:)

I couldn't agree with you more!! There were so many good dialogs and scenes in the book that I wished they would use instead of dragging the drama along with these non-essential subplots...I'm very disappointed with the way it has been going...but will finish it because I've invested so many hours into it lol...:D
