They became 'twin' states and Xiyun and Lanxi are the monarchs. Xiyun took care of the political affairs while Lanxi was conquering the other state (Beizhou or Shangzhou I can't remember). Idr what episode but after they got married, Xiyun was sitting reading docs and Lanxi came to tell her about his victory over the other state, from that you can tell that's how it was.

yes she is super badass, and if someone does something wrong like hurting innocent people, she will kill them, otherwise she's really kind.

Same I couldn’t help but laugh everytime he was on screen. His whole monologue in the last episode was so much funnier bc it was true. He’s like one of those unserious villains who always say what the audience is thinking 😂

I feel very conflicted about this drama. I feel sympathy for both leads but the way they treat each other sometimes makes me so uncomfortable that I can't truly enjoy it.

I was going to watch this but your review saved me what would have been a wasteful few hours of my life, so thank you. I agree with most of the things you said, but I just wanted to point out that people aren’t ignoring the things the fl did because she’s a woman, in fact I think people ignore it more when it’s men. I can name so many mls and smls that were obsessed, creepy, stalker, psychopaths, sociopath etc and they’ll be the most loved or popular characters of the story or a significant amount of people will defend them, and most of the time it’s simply bc they’re attractive. eg. Jun Woo (Vincenzo), Shi Oh (Strong Girl NS), Extraordinary You (Baek Kyung). I’ve never seen a female antagonist or terrible female character get that type of love. Especially jealous sfls, they’re hated even more than jealous smls. I can’t say it’s completely the audience’s fault, bc many dramas are geared to women, I think writers purposely make female antagonists more despicable to make the fl (which the audience should connect to) shine or seem more victimized. In the case with the male antagonists, often they’re just ‘misunderstood’ or were too desperately in love with the fl and ended up making bad decisions. Two perfect examples of this are Mr.Queen and My Demon. Anyways this was just from my observation, I believe their actions are equally bad regardless of gender.

They really don’t have the basics 😂 I actually like the medical part of this drama. I appreciate them showing that doctors can suffer from mental illnesses too, since the profession is often glamorized. But they’re just not doing a very good job at portraying these mental illnesses. I try to ignore it but sometimes it’s a bit too much. I’m also hoping it gets better. Like so far I’ve seen how they expounded on how Haneul was depressed since for the first few episodes all they did was have her say it, without really showing the symptoms she experienced.

I know it is, but come on, this is a bit excessive even for kdramas. And she’s taking medication…

I know dramas aren’t 100% realistic but it’s very weird to me that Haneul keeps drinking excessively while taking antidepressants??!?! And she’s a doctor!?!?

2nd ml and his nurse are so funny. I love that scene where she rolls her eyes at his antics 😂 Plus I’m so happy it’s not a love triangle. I want to see PHS secretly and madly in love with yet another fl with no interruptions!!!

Ahhhh I love Zhou Ye smm !!! Can’t wait!! Plus I liked the ml on the few episodes of MJTY that I watched!! He’s so charismatic <3

A lot of the ones in top 10 surely aren’t that exciting but they’re not super bad either. For example KTL, SYIMNL , and Castaway Diva are okay, just a little boring. 2023 wasn’t the best year for dramas, some of them were indeed disappointing, but not all of them were terrible.
