Am I the only one who likes Pillowbook better than Ten Miles? Don't get me wrong, ten miles was amazing. Ye Hua was extremely affectionate and passionate, but I guess it's preference to see someone like DongHua act so cute around Fengjiu.... Ahhhhhhhh this waiting is gonna be torturous D:
her acting style in royal highness reminds me of Barbara Yung, so nostalgic!!! I HIGHLY recommend royal highness-- she's a GREAT actress, main roles in historicals please!
Beautifully written historical Chinese drama. It has everything— love, betrayal, schemes, and a well written storyline. Ending was sad but definitely was justified. I didn’t cry though because LCY never deserved XF. The same reason why his father never deserved anyone he loved esp Mingyue. Hands down 10/10 drama for me.
Jin Mi totally had no brain, I remember she was smart when she turned human like the only time. I still like Yang…
TBH-- I honestly agree with you so much on this. Jin Mi really got no brain thanks to the author for the majority of the drama ahah but I loved Yang Zi and she nailed the role wonderfully. Also, I used to LOVE Chinese Paladin 1 as well and was like how come Ling'er acts like she's so sad it's not that big of a deal lol but I rewatched it a few years ago (more recent) I finally understood everything on a deeper level... omg justice for Ling'er pls!! T . T I cried SO MUCH in the end because our Ling'er does not deserve to constantly sacrifice like this !!!
currently watching it... first ep was BORING, second ep was okay, third ep is getting a little bit better but the MFL PISSES me off like I have never watched a more ignorant and useless female lead. Lol i do really hope she gets 'smarter'
Edit: just finished it. MFL never got 'smarter' but she got less annoying thanks to Woo Jin coming back to help her. Every ep after ep 5 really kept me in my seat anticipating. Ending was aight, kinda vague. I wished they would've elaborated more on Do Young's Walden Two childhood. Solid 9/10.
I agree 100%. I watched 5 eps of this drama and kept trying to continue due to the hype but yeah I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this show was nonsensical and a splattered mess.
I've watched the bbc version and I liked it so I thought I would like this one. but I didn't. Couldn't get past…
Lol, they were only in the first 2 eps, you can skip them quite easily too. I skipped through them and got to the much better stuff in the drama. I agree there is a slightly misogynistic undertone but later you see growth in the women.
