I agree a lot with this article...so many times I have been so upset with the female leads because of their stupidity. Of the dramas you list I have seen Reply 1997 and QIUM and Choi Hee Jin and Sung Siwon really got on my nerves...there are plenty others out there (I also agree with the Personal Taste one). However luckily there are also many strong and clever female leads in other dramas, like those who usually Ha Ji Won plays for example, who compensate for the stupid ones.

gosh thanks for this, Shark, the Huntresses and High Heels will be going on my list for sure and of course I am so very curious about So Ji Sub in a Hong Sisters drama.

I totally agree with what you are saying here!! This is a brilliant heart-warming drama...also the colours and the filming are so beautiful. I am almost sad that I only have three episodes to go...I agree that Masaaki did a great job here, I had already seen him in Jin and he is an awesome actor.

thanks for this article. I always enjoy listening to the OSTs of great dramas because they are part of the beauty of those dramas. Out of these that you list here I also like Hurt, Destino and Another Time Another Sky.

I am in the middle of watching this drama right now and it is really good. I wanted to point out that this has 10 episodes on the whole and not 11.

Interesting article...I have seen her in BM, Deep Rooted Tree, and Rooftop Prince and I think she is a great actress. There are quite a few 'older' Korean actresses who play their roles really well and whom I see often in dramas.

This is a very good article and I agree that many times the secondary couples are very intriguing like the King and Queen in Faith and the bodyguard and princess in King2Hearts.

I am relieved to see that you have the same opinions as I have on the RMPW special. To be honest I was quite upset and there is no way I will watch another special as I don't enjoy seeing such spoilt and chovinistic attitudes...at the end of the original drama it seemed that Toru had become humble and appreciated Makoto more, however in the special he just went back to his old self if not worse and it was unbearable how silly his behaviour made Makoto look.

I must be one of the few out there who really enjoyed What Happened in Bali, :0). I also watched Big for Gong Yoo and I agree with you that he was the one who made the whole thing watchable and for me the whole drama was not bad until the very last few minutes. No matter how good looking the actors are if the plot is really bad, I tend to drop the dramas anyway.

I thought this drama was absolutely WONDERFUL!! I loved the story which was very complicated but very well laid out so that the viewer could follow and understand every single step. I agree with Sarah87 here below that the King was the best charachter as he was incredibly clever and sensitive at the same time. I recommend this to all who want to see a great historical drama which allows us to understand a lot more about Korean history (and most of all Korean writing). I rated it a 10 as it was a real masterpiece for me.

I loved this article!! I had so much fun reading it...well done and I am looking forward to the second half. I agree with most of what you wrote...I stopped at Ep. 6 of Arang so it didn't hit a chord with me, but I enjoyed all the other dramas very much indeed and I am so, so happy you mentioned Salaryman as I only recently watched it and thought it had been greatly underrated as I enjoyed every minute of it and thought it was pure genus in some parts. I am very curious to see who made it at the top of your list...I can think of a few but I want to see how you rated them. ;0)
I was looking forward to this special but was a little bit disappointed with it. I thought the story was too focused on the 'business' side of things rather than the story between Toru and Makoto which ended up only being a series of bickering and of her running after him all the time...and in the end he couldn't even say that he loved her but he conceded to change for her sake? Far too chovinistic for my liking, however I rated it a 7 for the good filming and acting, but it was not as good as the drama in my opinion.

I totally agree with your Japanese choices of Ayase Haruka and Yamapi, Matsuda Shota and Kitagawa Keiko and Aragaki Yui and Mukai Osamu. For what concerns the Korean choices I like Lee Seung Gi and Lee Min Jung.

This was a great, great drama. It had wonderful sceneries, great warm colours, fantastic acting and a very good story. I had never seen Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo before and I thought they were extremely good in portraying their tormented lives. For what concerns the ending, although it was a little bit confusing I saw it as a happy one but I can also see why it could be otherwise. I rated it 9 and think this is a great start to the 2013 season of Kdramas.

Hi, I found the first episodes of Saikou no Rikon a little bit flat and I couldn't understand where the whole story was going with a lot of arguing and bickering between the characters. Although the acting was pretty good (especially Eita's) I couldn't enjoy the plot too much...however from ep.7 it suddenly took a very interesting turn and the ratings in Japan are very high for the last episodes so I am now waiting for the subtitles to see what happens next.

Hi, I haven't watched it yet as I usually wait until the weekend. I read different opinions about it but I understood it is not a tragic ending which is good. I will let you know what I think of it asap. For what concersl Civil Servant I quite enjoyed it as I found it a nice and easygoing watch. Of course it is nothing as spectacular as Bridal Mask, however Joo Won really showed his capability of playing different characters. I gave it an 8 which I think is a fair rating.

Hi Bladey, I looked for Konatsu but couldn't find anything related to it. I am sad that That Winter is ending and I hope they will surprise us with a different ending than what we expect...by the way, I saw that you watched many Saeguks lately...did you watch A tree with deep roots? What did you think of it? I am enjoying it very much so far and I am almost halfway through.
