Stoked af because it's the male lead from Imperial Coroner, can't wait to see how good he looks in suits and in…
He looks great! The stylist and costume designer did well! His suits don’t look recycled from another drama. They are tailored to fit him. Everything is in proportion to his height and build. No tight front buttons, short jacket sleeves or flat baggy butt. Plus, the hair cut goes well with the business style from all angles.
I recently realized that I am strangely attracted to Domineering CEO and Contract relationships in Chinese dramas.…
It’s a modern day Cinderella type story for me. The usually poor struggling girl gets a chance to capture the heart of a “prince” with only her charms, good character and hard work when the rich girl, educated abroad, can’t catch his attention! It gives hope to commoners that there is still fairness in the world! Lol
There were not enough meaningful content to fill 36 episodes. So, the fillers and repetitive subplots took away from the quality. The acting was believable with better performances by the ML, Letao and the parents. The FL’s character had very little growth. She was portrayed as bratty from the beginning to the end. Plus, her character seemed clueless to the emotions of the people around her. The love square was annoying because it dragged on much too long to be entertaining. 8/10
I typically avoid love triangles with sibling or best friend rivalries. This was not bad. The female played her character very well. She was loud and annoying at times. But, I expected these traits from someone whose career is dubbing. The story dragged out the rivalry too long. So, I skipped a few times. It’s worth watching once. 8/10
The rare kissing scenes are the few things they got right in this. Unfortunately, you have to wait until the end to see most of them with the side couples pairing off.
BAHAHHAHA right! i tried to endure this drama for the sake of seeing him break into pieces yet later on, turned…
I just did not see a need for a new fake love rival to add fire to that gasoline relationship with a set of new lies while the FL sits in the room without clarifying. To lie about who is the baby daddy is huge when she is still in love with the ML. The meticulous genius ML not asking the length of pregnancy or date of conception is totally unlike him especially when he’s trying hard to win her back.
I watched until the end, but, it was a struggle. It’s the typical rich, arrogant CEO and the cute, hardworking, feisty female worker with a crush on him. They had some cute scenes but not enough to elevate the mediocre quality of this drama. The story implodes mostly because of cliche and repetitive subplots mixed with an excessive amount of miscommunication. I watched until the end to see if the lead couple ever maintained a stable relationship for more than a minute without interference from third parties trying to force a love triangle based on a stack of lies and misdirection. I also continued watching waiting for sinkholes to swallow the so called ex/lovers and hopeful future exes! The refreshing, supportive and non-evil mother-in-laws kept me watching along with a few side couples. Also, there were too many annoying filler scenes. I skipped about one third of the drama and didn’t miss anything. No real value in watching again. 7/10
They are paying a ton of money for the cast. I hope the script is worthy. I am excited that Woo Bin is back and healthy enough to participate in a drama whose scheduling can be grueling.
It’s a heart warming story of working together to overcome obstacles. You do not have to be a gamer to enjoy it. The gaming animation makes it easier to understand the game play scenes. It is clear Xu Kai is the most experienced of the main couple. The female lead is not bad, but her facial features and body language sometimes lack the subtle cues that can enrich a scene or a closeup. She should get better with more roles. 8/10
This drama is a lot better than the too detailed description that does not show the effort put out by the actors in this hidden gem. I started watching it after clips appeared in my YouTube feed expecting to only kill time waiting for other dramas to update. Fortunately, it showed depth and complexity that reminded me of another “career women” drama, Joy of Life. It has the typical 3 to 4 hard working women from small towns fighting to make a career in the big city. This drama is more intense and dark in some areas, but, balances it with romance and humor. The longer 70 minutes episodes allow the viewer to become absorbed. The acting was very good with believable romances including the noona relationship. The chemistry of the lead couple is strong and built up slowly from a tragedy instead of the cliche girl slip trip and falling into the ML arms. There are only 12 episodes. The storyline doesn’t have much fillers because of the short length and nothing felt lacking. Definitely worth watching 9/10.
The storyline is more complex than described in both the romantic aspects and business side. It’s worth a repeat watch. Cost engineering became interesting. The cast and crew were clearly experienced professionals that enhanced the story. The female lead’s battles in a male dominated real estate and construction business was the core of the drama. I wanted to see more of her best friend’s happier times and less of the clingy rich girl pathetically struggling to wedge herself into the main couple’s relationship. I wanted to see less of the teeth of the uncle, Huang Lilin, whose teeth look like he brushed with chocolate cake twice a day! 9/10
The drama was entertaining through the first half because it centered around the child. His acting was great. The others were basically side characters with bland and highly predictable subplots especially in the last half. The hidden secrets and recovered memories came back in the end but they were too little, too obvious and too late to uplift this tired drama. 7.5/10
