I was adamantly hoping Gi Bai Zhi and Jiang Yu Chen never get back together even though they have lingering feelings for each other. It’s mostly because they have not addressed the previous issues. So, getting back together would be a disaster. Then, I realized this is typical of reality. Couples separate and reunite, but, never resolve issues. They just apologize and move on until the same problems resurface. I’m going to relax my stance and say I hope they talk it through or that would be a waste of character if JYC slides back into a depression hole because of the same relationship issues.
I'm so sad I hate that stupid Liang and Miao!!! They make things so difficult for Chu Li all the time even though…
They are truly frustrating! They are well acted and well written characters. I want to throw something at them when I see their smug faces! Lol! There is a lot of realism in those two characters and the type of business workers they represent. They are the boot lickers who rise in business by fawning over people in power. They will form cliques and try to suppress the weaker individuals who are talented enough to succeed on their own especially the newly hired or the people fresh out of school.
This seems quite a common issue with C dramas. I wonder why... Is it because of low standards for directors/producers/editors?
IQIYI will air 6 to 9 episodes of a new drama. I agree. It gets more dramas released. I think television and local broadcasting stations will be here to stay. They are all becoming more digital. Local TV is the only place to find reporters to broadcast local news, weather, sports and entertainment. I owned 5 TVs many years ago. I own 1 large screen one now. Most of my drama watching is on it. I stream videos through mostly AppleTV either directly or with my laptop. I need a wide screen fir watching.
There's a romance tag, please tell me it's not between the minor and the middle aged man? I don't mind age gaps,…
I’ve watched through ep. 34 and only saw two very awkward hugs, one compassionate (much needed) hug while she cried over painful family matters, plus a couple of brief hand holdings in a car and movie theater. I doubt there will be anything more in the last episode. I think she plays this role well despite her real age. She is believable as a recent graduate who falls in love with a former mentor and boss after being like a BFF to him over 3-4 years of knowing each other. I think her character is emotional more mature than he is with respect to love relationships. You have to watch to understand. I don’t feel any regrets watching this production. I had similar cringe before watching My Mister. It turned out to be one of my favorite Korean dramas.

My respect and awards go to Vincent He (Lu Qi) and Tang Zeng (King Liang). Their acting was convincing as the bad guys. I felt sympathy when they genuinely showed regret.
It’s a hot mess of a roller coaster ride. It’s entertaining, but, not satisfying and feels like something, many things are missing. It gives hope of a good palace/noblemen drama wrapped around a cute romance of the main characters in the beginning. Then, it slowly moves towards idiocy of the supporting characters who get too much screen time. The characters build and warp along with the storyline. The palace cliches of power grabbing, back stabbing and greed are expected and delivered. There are enough cool fighting scenes, touches of multiple romances, and silly comedy to keep viewers watching to the end even with the extensively poor editing. I am not sorry I watched even with my teeth grounded down a few millimeters since starting this. But, there is no rewatch value for me. 7/10
honestly, pop off! heirs rated no.1 is so fckin true kim eun sook is such a shitty writer she does NOT know how…
She has written some bad and some excellent dramas. Give her credit for Descendants of the Sun, Secret Garden and the others mentioned. I agree Heirs was not her finest hour. But, she is better than most of today’s Asian drama writers.
Xiao Bai blames his stepmother for his parents breakup. But, only assumes his father was a mental weakling seduced by her. Then, he spends years being resentful and hateful towards her with his father coddling him. It’s ridiculous the levels he will go to take revenge on her when both his father and her made decisions to be in a relationship. The father can do no wrong from his perspective.

Hahaha! Heaven’s mandate can’t block karma. All the emperor’s kids might not survive this drama including King Zhou. The old Queen dowager said what goes around comes around. I’m wondering if she planned something before dying.
The crown prince is really a bad judge of character. Chumu has helped him in the past, but instead of being grateful…
The crown prince got dumber throughout the drama. His brother, King Han, has been kind to him all his life. But, he plots to kill him while listening to the debauchery of King Liang (the trash of the royal family) and the immoral entourage including the crooked generals. His wife had the common sense of a peanut and he took advice about overthrowing his father from her. He deservesd everything he got.

At this end stage of the drama King Zhou is making himself look like an “angel type” who studies Buddha at night and worries about the starving people during the day even in the midst of an attempted coup. He’s practically glowing with a halo or the Buddhist equivalent.
No worries. Celebrity marriages fail faster than most. I can only hope life gets better for both of them. They have a child to raise. They have to remain respectful towards each other.
