It was hard for me to rate this movie bcz i wasnt mentally prepared for this as no comment is available about its main theme. i only came for mystery n that interesting n thrilling poster. I was expectin psychological n mystery ,so let me warn u it wasnt those. But the movie is good.
Now let's talk about this black n white movie, it is bittersweet n emotional, it's about longing n fulfillment of one's desire.If u r looking for Slice of Life n Drama with a bit of mystery i recommend this. I enjoyed the execution n acting of young Shiro Sano.
This drama is better than Hell Dogs on Netflix in terms of thrill n acting but the writing is still poor considering the theme that's 'information control ' .Well it isn't the main theme as the genre turns from thrill to psychological in last 3 episodes which was turn off ,this drama dint need that kind of plot twist considering the limited time to explore everything in a good manner,they should have kept it simple. If someone wants good drama on Netflix with Yakuza characters then 'Tiger and Dragon' is the best.
This cud hv been developed into something better ,no idea what the director is trying to convey. Is it about loneliness n depression of a person? It remains a riddle to me with its ambiguous ending. The confined space n the way he was sliding with his teeth can make the viewers anxious but this was his motive that he achieved. M guessing the couple did it to themselves ryt bcz the home was theirs only as the photo suggested? Does anyone have any interpretation?
Not all yakuza movies have to be violent n dark. I like how this movie was subtle yet entertaining,kept me engaged the whole time. Their time at beach was my favourite part.Lovely film .
Do u love the manga blame or anime ergo proxy or Do u love combination of sci fi n dystopia ?if yes,then give it a go. I recommend this movie bcz i found direction interesting n making a live action of anime like movie is risky as people dnt like it , being black n white is another catchy feature ,i would nt have liked it coloured . Plot is simple n easy to understand which includes lust,crime n revenge so yes watch it.
This movie sucks. I rarely drop movies but i dropped this halfway n cudnt continue as it dint grab me, not for Yakuza movie lovers or even movie lovers. I really hope Netflix add some good yakuza movies especially from Kitano Takeshi,they have really good mafia movies from US but whn it comes to Japan u add this? Evn fables series was better.
Drama about a family who is struggling to get the niece married n several other problems around them due to war n radioactivity. Not as important as Ballad of Narayama but a good emotional movie by Imamura san with nice soundtrack.

I love yakuza movies especially from kitano takeshi.i started it n i already feel like dropping it's nt gripping at all but reviews are really good here no one said it's boring.
i usually cry easily, but i didnt cry at this movie.it's a good movie tho, and the cinematography is gorgeous
It never meant to make u cry.There r many tearjerkers with similar theme that contains rape n suicide but they took light approach in this movie instead of heavy n dark. They can make out several movies differently from a single theme, talent of Japanese writers 😉
