In my opinion this was the best movie or Jmovie of 2022,yes apart from Wandering.
Reminds me of two beautiful movies Maborosi n Orange ,this movie has redemption arc like Orange but it's not dull ,dark n draining like maborosi bcz of funny scenes n dialogues. I waited for this n i am not disappointed at all.I only wanted it to be longer or be a drama bcz it felt really short n fast ,i wanted their rship n growing up characters to be explored. What i find most interesting is that these kind of mangas or movies with abused characters involve mostly romance instead of friendship,which i found refreshing.
I like themes like this with important message but movie was a failure. Yim si wan's acting was much scary n better in Strangers from Hell where he wasn't even a killer. I felt like he got the wrong role n there r much better thrillers korea has made, no idea why this was bad n boring.
I waited so long for this n it dint disappoint ,still a room fr improvement . Cinematography n acting were solid.This has a potential to become a drama with more refined writing n also needs a thrill bcz it got a little dull which it shouldn't have.
What i liked the most is the antagonist is not hot like hot serial killers in kdramas(which is my guilty pleasure tbh)they chose a veteran with average looks without glorifying the criminal.
Overall enjoyable movie if u love serial killing n manipulative character.
Should have made a full fledged drama n finished it even with an open ending bcz there was nothing much to it to drag on to next season.With an ending like that there will definitely be season 2. I have watched many hollywood movies on cannibalism n the shounen anime Promised Neverland was really good in this genre so this concept is not new. This drama was ok , nothing major but i found Mashiro story much more interesting so i sticked , sadly it finished really quick.Other than that there were many plotholes, stupid characters especially mashiros parents who trust the kid who has god level compassion n empathy but it was still really engaging with good acting, suspense,music n cinematography.Although it suits the new watchers of this genre but old viewers will also find it entertaining if they want to watch something light n fun.I will watch season 2.
Social commentary kind of movie abt family drama, crime, poverty with multiple perspective abt complex human nature. This was a good movie, every main character is just pure evil except the kids, the most evil of all is the real mother.

But yes u may be ryt, it's fine if u dnt buy it, we all have ryt to make interpretation.I prefer mine though bcz of how he cried , it reminded me of satoshi kun in josee ,the tiger n the fish movie. We all see women crying in the movies but its rare to see guys cry so genuinely. I mean there r many kdramas where guys cry, in i promised u the moon too but it dint seem genuine to me so this movie became my fav n that scene is one of my reasons.

Dnt forget to watch the post credit scene ,it adds up to entertainment.
