My understanding is that the treatment for his poison has caused a change in appearance (but is obviously the same looking Cheng Yi) so to differentiate the time of when he first got the treatment (from the Monk) 10 years ago to present, he goes from dubbed voice to his own.

OMG Ep 8- I'm dying of laughter... finally a wuxia drama that talks about something very practical: money!! Who knew that the two of them would live off of Cheng Xi's meager earnings and his tiny mobile home.

It's hard for me to accept that Joseph is the youngest of the 3 and their ages match very closely to their characters' age. And he is in the middle of two older bros arguing/fighting.

Joseph Zeng is actually really good. He just needs the right script and character to really shine out.

Not sure if mentioned already but for those who had watched Heroes (Joseph Zeng), anyone noticed the "Di Fei" is almost the exact same name as Di Fei Jing in Heroes? Just a character is off but we don't often see similar names in C dramas.

Like Xiao Se...he lost it but obviously will get it back somehow and that in itself is a journey. Until then, I am thoroughly enjoying him being protected by others.

I needed this after seeing Joseph Zeng in Heroes. Heroes was a disappointment but it had a good bromance with the 3 MLs.. Thankfully, MLC is much better. It does also have Blood of Youth vibes with a sick/weak ML but makes up for it for being brilliant and also a bit of a 'I don't care about all your idealist values'. Seeing Joseph Zeng go and save Cheng Yi more than once, love it. This will be addictive.

Judging by latest trailer- it appears all 3 MLs are NOT dubbed. I can tell it's Cheng Yi's own voice at the very least. He tends to be dubbed in all his costume dramas with the exception of his role in Immortal Samsara (as his father). Joseph Zheng is always dubbed in his costume dramas but I can't entirely tell if he is dubbed here as the trailer didn't give enough clues. I'm not familiar with the other ML but appears to be his own voice. I'm excited and just love and love.

I've finished episode 7 and it has been a struggle for me after the 1st episode (which I liked). Someone please tell me it gets better soon. It's not peaking my interest despite the leads and this is a type of drama that I do like.

Yang Yang's dramas has been a hit or miss for me when it comes to modern drama. I much prefer him in period/costume like Who Rules the World. I couldn't even watch Love O2O and I used You Are My Glory as background noise. I didn't like it as I felt it was so draggy and slow mode. This one was better largely because of the periodic rescues and I like Yang Yang's character here where he is more proactive in what he wants and is a total flirt. I love the sweet dating phase as it's "getting to know you again".

I expected the reveal of LZS to Yu Ru before he died instead it was very anticlimactic. I don't see him actually having spared Yu Ru various times - he knowingly put her in danger and at best, he would be in pain afterwards about 'losing' her. And the whole being killed by his own bio dad, this isn't new. I've seen it in Ruyi Pavilion but the villain was killed by his mother instead and he too misunderstood the familial relationship until it was too late. This isn't a new type of story. While the ending didn't seem rushed, I felt how LZS died wasn't new. I love Liu Xue Yi but he needs a new type of character to shine his acting skills, I don't think LZS was anywhere as difficult as his roles in Love and Redemption and Ancient Love Poetry.

I'm curious to see when does Uncle Jiang does some 'magic' and changes the course of the tides. Mickey He (actor) doesn't tend to play such insignificant supporting role. There must be something up his sleeve but for some reason has not shown his hand yet despite all the innocent bloodshed happening. Also, I'm not impressed LZS as a villain as we usually get more than breadcrumbs of a backstory to understand at least where his anger and hatred for the world comes from so that we could be at least conflicted when we see them become villains. Well I've felt nothing and at this point, because of all the terrible things he has done - a complete disregard for human life so that he can feel like he achieved something that was taken from him, well boo. I also don't find him particularly smart as I had said earlier, it just so happens everyone he has schemed against just weren't really bright. The closest in intelligence is Uncle Jiang but he is appearing hesitant to really stop LZS. Oddly enough, LZS doesn't see Uncle Jiang as a major issue for him. We go back to where Uncle Jiang divulged a secret to the late Fan - he murdered the crown prince because he viewed him as incompetent. So he's certainly capable and willing to get his hands dirty if it meant the right thing to do so I'm patiently waiting for tomorrow.

There is absolutely nothing redeemable about LZS and I don't care if he is tragic. He chose this path and he has no regard for anyone's life. The closest is for LRY but then it wasn't enough for him to do much to save her from his path of destruction. So many good people died because of LZS.

I don't get the motivation behind the character Luo Zi Shang. I get he had a troubled childhood but I don't understand why he has this personal hate against Gu Si. There is nothing redeeming about this character. He's just pure villain. And it's not that he's overly smart. It's just that the people he schemes against happens to be not as calculating and conniving as he is. Sigh.

Youku is so weird with how they promote their dramas. You get one extreme like Back from the Brink where they spoil you to death with clips and episodes clips in advance and daily BTS. Then the other extreme is no promo, no advance warning and no schedule. Just drop 1 episode to get us hung on a taste and that's it.

LYN went from being an assassin after Dilraba in The Long Ballad to being her love interest here. Now I am excited but what is with a single episode today? Sigh.

FL's adopted mother (the actress) is the same one as in Reset (she was the mother of the girl who got killed after stepping off the bus). Her character was very unhinged there and her acting was very impressive.

Honestly, I felt at the time they were younger and forced to break up - neither of them could live independently from their respective families. However, 10 years later, they are now adults nearing 30, have established careers and are both capable of supporting themselves even if they didn't have their family. I would like to see that FL is saying 'let's try again and work together' but what I didn't like was her walking back into ML's life after a chance encounter and she just outright asks "let's reconcile". That's it. No action to show. ML rightly got anger and upset at her. She walked away from a relationship that nearly broke him to pieces. If they support each other, their families can disagree all they want - they can still be together. The problem is FL is wishy washy about her decisions, she admits it. But she hasn't clued in that her mother will never accept ML. So 'waiting' for her to change her mind is pointless. She is drinking her sorrows over a lost relationship that so far, I don't see her doing anything to rekindle with him. It's been 10 years. Why can't she start with "let's get to know you" again. But the direction this is going is angsty, nowhere near what I expect from matured relationships ought to be. And it does sound horrible to describe ML is chasing after FL after just showing up and stirring his feelings again.
