Mo li was diff. I was not able to get passed through after ep2 because of slow paced and is in my on hold list. But ye li was seeking revenge, was suffering from mental health issues, trying to set things right with her husband(forgot name). But that has clearly diff and lot to talk about.

This story is completely with revenge while exploring romance. I feel issue with story directing. The way it has been directed did not move me.

Zhou ye. Sigh. I love her. But i also agree with u. In ep1-2 i struggled little bit with her facial expressions. I will not say that she didn't tried. But maybe she was not able to switch expressions smoothly. In ep1 in opera song. Her facial expressions didn't show ruthless and pretentious smile. But it didn't sit right with me. In millet talk, she was struggling to switch smoothly from " why are u saying this"/ innocent to " i see u what u are trying to do but i can't take part in it"/ cunning face.

Which idk why. She can act. Just here little bit it was off. But it definitely gets better from ep3.

True. This was shown as well. In ep1 , old madam xie was saying to burn some scriptures in haunted place. And second master was also the one who went there and brought black dog blood to ward off evil. Adding to op point, it makes sense to covet to superstition. As what's beneath their heart and mind is completely dark and secretive and they don't want to expose that. They can't bring her mother back to life not that they regret it. But to hide it, it makes sense to go that route.

I do think that they will show massacre in detail in later ep. Because this is revenge drama. For revenge having 30 ep means u need to have strong emotional connection that why revenge is imp.

While i will say qingyuan was a child when she saw her mother dying in front of her and can't even bid goodbye. It was an unjust death. It can actually scar a child traumatically. But Shen Run literally saw his whole 73 members of family getting killed. Piles of corpses of ur loved ones. It should be much harsher. Story didn't explored it in depth. Which made me think this story is told more from FL pov. Also if u see it's more focused on xie household. We know very little about shen run or yan rui.

The plus point here is that with bg music story is not letting u forget that everything is pretentious and fake and evil. It brings u to acknowledge that this is revenge drama. Had it not been sound effects i think story wouldn't have left any mark to me...classic case of perfect use of sound effects.

I actually had to go and verify that it's 20 dramas and yes u are correct. Omg. It's a really good no. Ig it's me problem then. Btw I was actually very much holding myself back because of snow eagle lord reviews. But i really want to watch that drama.Do u recommend that? 1. Hmm. Basically playing fool and lazy and corrupt. So no one takes him seriously. Also this mask helps him. Other corruption officials open up to him thinking that he is one of ours. Plus he is the advisor of ministry of revenue. Which is a huge job...so ledger part makes sense. But what that ledger is about story hasn't told yet. Mystery i like it. About Yan rui tragedy part. I am not there yet. I have to personally witness that. Also xie family hoarding makes sense. I sensed this in ep1 only when lots of refugees were asking for grain and xie family was holding a ceremony to welcome their young fourth lady. But 20 dan of rice. That was huge. They were not even selling in the market after disaster hit. I mean till now they haven't mentioned what business they do. Except qingyuan father serving in northwestern borders. Yan rui was also saying to bring more rice from capital that confirms it. So i fear it's simply not about getting more profit. It's more like a crime...if Yan rui didn't investigated this I fear they even donated it. But he is clearly pestering qingyuan with that arson case which tells me he is not just investigating corruption case. I think xie family is also involved in his family assassination. But who are they? How powerful are xie family to do so. Story hasn't told it yet .so i even doubt it. But his story is definitely i am more curious about.

2. It's safe to say. I like xu kai in wuxia dramas more. The way he handles his posture, walks and facial expressions is more like an official and wuxia coded. Which makes me feel he is from that era. But in my all belief i still think his acting has improved a lot. I feel more immersed in his character here.

In ep1, she clearly set arson case. Whole setup. While her friend and taoist agreed to help. It's years of planning. Building connection, seeking help and going in the family. Not to mention Revenge arc hasn't even started( as i watched till ep2). There she was clever and scheming. Not like zhang hai type or ye li like but she is.

Rest her millet thing was a clue that she understand and is aware of king's saying. And she sensed corruption investigation when it was never told to her. She is stepping up in gaining both xie granny trust, handled situation and somewhere she is trying to play neutral with Yan. So that was good. Not remarkably but yes clues were there.

In other mentions I see its something normal that i don't count as smart and cunning.

Ep2, don't worry. I will definitely confess and bring you down with me. 😂 I like this banter between them.

But i do have a feeling Yan isn't a corrupt official. He is playing one. The whole ledger attempt made it clear. But i wonder what corruption case he is still investigating? I mean grain one for disaster relief is resolved. Arson case is something he and qingyuan agreed not to pursue further. They use it as threatening and trade chip. Now ledger? What's with ledger. Interesting.

Also I am feeling for Qingyuan. She just entered xie mansion and her smile is so fake. I mean u can feel it. She is pretending. I wonder how hard it must be to live as a person whom u are not but have to always put on an act.

Also, i find third young lady ok. I mean i get her hatred. She is the only open book person. So far I want to know more about first young lady. She keep quiet but notice things. She is invoking curiosity in me.

That old granny xie. Idk why but she looks familiar. She wants to harm qingyuan but still enjoy flatter. And seems to be liking her. I am not sure if that's pretentious or she actually enjoys flatter.

This. Yes. Because i remember when your sky came i loved auausave and then Fanboy pilot came and since then I was waiting and waiting and waiting. Complete One year.

But i am satisfied as series is good. So taking back all my waiting complaints.

This year is going in catching up on back to back good dramas. To the point it's even becoming hard to choose which one to watch. Not that I am complaining. But more please.

Atleast one good thing with this drama is finally Netflix is starting to air thai dramas on air as main platform...as Netflix is global site with less geo restrictions it reach to everyone on time with proper subs. No waiting game for subs as well.

But crow club looks like a thriller drama or case solving drama as haven't watched ep 0. I don't mind( lying to myself to convince) airing it one day.

Ep1, was so good. Zhou ye lived upto my expectations with her acting. I think Lord Yan was acting double faced in disaster relief. He was not there to harm. But I found the dynamics of qingyuan and yan very interesting. Yan is obviously finding qingyuan mysterious and that mystery pulls him towards her. I like their don't trust era vibe and interactions. As of xie family dynamics, third young lady qingrong is not a bad person her vengefulness and hatred towards qingyuan from her pov is correct. That time i thought they should have already resolved this issue but obviously drama can't as that's the whole plot. But revenge plot is plotting. I mean i can get the vibe. Must say background music is helping.

I actually am liking chemistry between him and Zhou ye which was absent as per me in ancient love poetry as per me which i am liking here. Plus point.
Also his acting for me here is more upto my liking.

Agreed. I waited so long for this. I love Zhou ye's acting. But first 5-10 min didn't hooked me in. Maybe I was expecting too much? Or maybe i didn't watched with enough time in my hand to appreciate the story.

Ep1, i mean song yi isn't wrong when he said that he is procedurally correct and almost uninvited guest. 😂

But something about cold ML and warm, playful ML trope. It works here. Because actor playing song yi can actually give me that vibe and I enjoy it. Same if actor playing fei yu didn't emodied cold vibe properly it wouldn't have worked.

Although short length dramas( running time not ep) are not my thing. I will try here as characters are interesting plus China.

But plot also somewhere reminds me of See your love. I can't help but often remember that drama while watching me. Hoping this drama will also find a place in my heart like see your love.

Writers forgot that they need to embody emotions of characters and events which an AI can't do. Plus the writer also never put efforts. Because she/ he clearly have no understanding of chronological order of things. She/ he repeats things that was already said. Characters are mess and all over place. No idea about story or even broad framework in mind. Otherwise script wouldn't be so bad. Even with AI.
