Love. What about love that cheng ming had with his family? Can you forgive someone who killed ur family directly/ indirectly? Can u forgive urself as u trusted someone and got scammed? Love looks and sounds good. But when u get this level of betrayal. It's better to part ways and never have happy ending. Some stories don't require and need happy ending.
If chengming ended up being with her. He will not be able to even love her completely. He will be conflicted always. And that's not a true happy ending. Some stories after making harm to other party only deserve farewell.

I am also an idol drama watcher. But i am loving this drama so much. 8.5 nah. It's easily 9 drama for me atleast till ep1 where I have watched. It's just sooo good.

Well. I would say whenever u get lost with plot. Always look at premise and synopsis. That reminds u. I used to feel this very often because i watch cdramas of over 39-60eps. Too many subplots always make u loose the concept. But isn't that also s beauty?
U start with keeping in mind that ok these two people are lovers who love each other on soul level. And they are wanting to be together. But these are people in their own fictional world. They also have people associated with them. U learn about their closed ones. People around them. Connect with them along the way. Cry for them..laugh for them. And no t to mention u understand why main characters are the way they are. What's the character depth of them. Somewhere u start loosing plot. But it means u are deep into their world. That's why despite MLs people always have their own fav character. Just remind urself with ques. Hey!! Where is the original plot that started is there right now and what's the progress.
Sometimes we loose plot because story and plot is developing but we are not noticing for which focus is not through the plot itself. But through branching or sub plots.
Here, i believe they are lovers. Who met after learning their lessons from their past and people around them. While trying to meet with each other at their happy ending path, they go through ups and downs of life, people around them, career, self growth, understanding. Until the time of reunion comes. Like marriage here. They experienced life. They saw deaths.
Aesthetics are all good. But story is not aesthetics.
Deaths. A heavy term. No one wants death. No one want to see their loved ones getting die. They experience it and still they were together. They were by each other side.

The cruelty should be big. The mastermind should be cruel and ruthless. Qingyuan should show us that she is clever not being just told. In 11min of ep5, sometimes timing of festival and events of the story collides so well so as to compliment each other. Like the Shangsi festival of admiring spring flowers. It's coincided with qingyuan and yan rui getting bethroed. Budding the flower of their romance journey. First madam realising all she wanted a good life with her mother still she can't achieve and sense of guilt for fourth madam and her fourth young sister. She understood and needs to seek power and stand up. Because always shutting up and dolling herself like noble lady has always made her feel sad. Sad that she is bearing things and still can't call out her grievances. Because buddha can't come to save her or her loved ones.So this time, she remembered qingyuan words and that's the blooming of her newself. Whether it does more harm to her or not that's diff thing. But from here she is choosing path to call out either by her mouth or by her brain. Same time qing he and pei marriage talk starts. So that's again a start of something.
I don't get people wanting every FL to be mary sue level smart. It is more of suspense drama then revenge drama.

Ig this could be a very good plus point if they used FL like that. Like yes she is seeking truth and revenge, but afterall she is still a normal human being. She ain't queen of the chessboard. Who decides and controls fate for everyone. She is blade of a swordswomen( sharpened by unjust), she is the spring flower( delicate yet capable of loving others and lovable). She ain't like mastermind level but that's what makes her human. She feels a human being that saw injustice and she wants to seek justice and revenge but still prone to make mistakes, be a girl. She is never supposed to be Mary Sue.

Since I am still at ep3 so i am in no position to judge. But if they will handle ML revenge arc later which has no link to xie family then it's a misproportion of handling both cases. And not to mention finding clues, revenge track takes time so that will be injustice to his revenge arc.
But ig if road goes via xie family talks should start now. When and how it's connected and ultimate revenge. By now clues should be there.
And i mean no offense. But i think ML revenge should be huge because he saw 73 members of his family getting died. Along with FL mother. He was also a child and that must be way more traumatic. He on borders or officaldom never got any love and care. But FL still has someone to tend to. And her pain is valid seeing her mother getting died in front of her. But 73 is still a huge impact on me as a viewer. I connect with revenge cause more with ML and less with FL..
