True. Man inhumanity to Man i must be living under the rock to not even know about this unit. I tried watching it but it's too dark I wasn't able to handle it. Same goes with swords of ploughshares when it came and went idk. Since then it's in my PTW list. Traffic is less in these dramas. Most people want to watch fluffy and romance so stories like these gets sidelined.
Ep7-8, colleague like mingming is s blessing. She understood ZhengLiang situation without him explaining. He talked rudely with her but still she took him to her performance stage and deliberately chose the play that embodied that sense of grief and loss ZhengLiang was suffering. He cried. And i cried with him.
All those bottled up emotions, he let it out and cried like a person who has suffered a lot which he is. But all those pain from years he let it out. I love xiao zhan here. How masterfully he has understood zheng liang emotions and made it feel live that i couldn't help but cry for past 2 ep.
Mingming is such a sweet angel. She herself was suffering but still she did that. Everyone in xiaomeimein hospital understood him. Was worried for him.
One scene that stuck with me is when ZhengLiang was taking bath. He was trying to cry. He was feeling terrible. Like zhenguang said he is cold blooded. No he is not. Just that since childhood he was suffering so much and somewhere while growing up seeing her mother not crying in front of him( except after giving birth to zhengguang as if she was trying so hard to hold together things but that day it all flowed in form of tears)even in tough times made him like that. He was trying..but he was not able to.
When he heard his mother news, he came out of car and secretly watered his eyes with tears just that he was trying to stay strong. I feel for ZhengLiang, he lost his father in snow, he lost his mother in snow, he almost lost his brother in snow, he lost a patient due to snow. Snow. I wonder if his phobia has increased or more like his trauma has deepened.
Zhengguang, he has always saw his mother remembering ZhengLiang and in happy light nothing like how ZhengLiang has seen.
That door knob when ZhengLiang finally opened, he is broken like that doorknob but still he is accepting that and continuing to live.

On the contrast i am upset that i didn't started from first week due to travels. I love to enjoy drama while airing. That way it becomes my fav part of the day. Waiting and then savouring one ep is just so rewarding to me. Too bad i have to watch it now in secret. I can't trust thai dramas in front of my parents. Resubscribed to iqiyi just for this. On weekdays OST are my companion. I love OST of this drama. So dark, possesive, obsession filled. :)
I think by ep5, yan already has some likeness or crush towards Princess. This story is detailed. Each action is contributing to the story. And it makes you to think why he/she is doing that. I like that I need to think.

Yeah investment is what I fear. I already know this is going to be bad. Tbh i haven't completed a single kdrama since 2023 after switching to cdrama. And i am looking for a drama that can make me sit till the end. Seems like this will not be that story.
But sometimes I wander comment section and laugh and continue my day. 😅

Ngl. This makes me interested. I was stuck at ep3. I can't watch the talks between ML and SFL. It's boring to me. I don't want to know which potato chips, what flavour, what price and regulations. I just love eating potato chips but i can't and don't want to understand it's talk.

Actor actress not only look for good scripts but good story and acting range. Here FL was in Dearest which is still in my PTW list for so long but she must be trying diff. As an actor u don't want to play always rom com like Dynamite kiss. Some real touch stories or grey/ toxic love stories are also a good go for. As long as u are not promoting infedility and separating ways. If they separate ways that's a good thing sending a final message what should never be done. But if not then yes it's problematic. Lot of people still accept infedility but series should not promote them. We don't know what they look in these stories but we should not judge. Sometimes actors don't get good script. They have to make do with what they have. Sometimes they just accept whatever work they got or what production house they are with is signing up for them...we don't know.
Afterall acting is not a permanent job. Once done with series start again sometimes from zero. Whatever gets food on their plate. We can't even say actors get paid too much. It's that nature of work. Plus Seoul is not inexpensive.
