But the untamed has no cinematic masterpiece elements. Maybe from 2019 standards but not from today. It's main and the most appreciated thing is the story. And that too if only u know the novel story, it makes more sense. Because drama will not explain u the way novel explains. Whether it be a plot or romance. Coming from a person who just love the untamed and I have watched untamed 3 times, read novel 5 times, watched anime both in Japanese and Chinese version 2 times, listened audiobook also.

I am not going to deny that characters are poorly written. I am saying this from the start and I have maintained this position till the end. Simple.
But the story has something that keeps u hooked. In my opinion it was soooooo toxic that it still has lingering impact on me. Although idk what for u heavy serious themes means. If u want to recommend something I will give it a try. Also cinematography, it's a subjective matter. For me colour grading, props, costumes everything should get contributed to plot. That's enough for me. It doesn't have to be of PoJ ( straight drama) like. Again give me recommendations i will check it out.

When someone says BOC I only remember kinnporche and Shine. Although they have high production value but the story is not everyone's cup of tea specially Shine as it requires little bit knowledge of thai history around that time and the world. Unfortunately, i used to sleep in my world history class. So the entire drama didn't made any sense to me. 😶

So ML don't live in his home and live in dorm?

Why is that FL went to no1 high school and ML went to vocational secondary high school? Aren't their parents dating? Then why FL call ML's father as uncle? And isn't the household and children duty should be mutual? Or they just decide that i will earn money and make my girl go to best school?

Why FL's mother now when she has job and money to even buy a gold ring or bracelet, she is still living with ML's father? And I know they are not married or official so why ML's mother wipe off lipstick and remove earring? As if she is saying that i don't have anyone?

Also i think FL and FL's mother relationship is based on misunderstanding. FL clearly was left to live in village while her mother is with someone else and then when she came back. She took FL with her to Teng city which arises hope in her that finally she can have a happy life. But it's what the opposite of it. And now ig she don't think her mother worry about her. She is wanting her time but FL mother is dedicated to her daughter. I hope they resolve this. Also what just happened with FL mother? What's her story???

And it pained me so much to see how young ML was going through abuse. Afterall he was a child. He could be showing that i am tuff but he too was scared. And FL although she is mature and understand this is wrong. But she was also the child and the only thing that she can do was to see the abuse and comfort him by making food and giving lollipop. She showed understanding and empathy when a young child was needing it. Ig that's where the bond start to form between them..from enemies to friends....i loved how ML was protective of her.

How is this drama so far??? Is it worth watching?

Ep1, Jing yi really knows how to pick good script. Although I am very much against with step siblings trope. i think it's well handled here. Two parents never married each other and the FL's mother ig she don't want to have romantic relationship with ML' s father. It's like she is using him to get job so that they can get settled somewhere in Teng city. Concept of family is very subjective. When they say " we are a family" it doesn't mean they need to have a proper defined relationship to be a family. They understood each other as someone who is living under same roof and share joy and pain. That's family for them.

Now about drama, ig drama potrayed so well since the start that ML don't and can't see FL as his sister. In first he said I will never let them to come at my house and live but the next moment after meeting FL he bring fruits. I love how both FL and ML are clear about the idea that although they are sharing home for whatever reasons..they don't see each other as family.

Another thing good about this drama is that it shows how hard is to get adapted to the new changes. Bringing two people at home and say ok now we are family and u just accept it is not how things work. They showed this in drama. FL is mature and knew how imp is for them to have a roof and at the same time she understand how hard it is for ML to accept her and her mother. They constantly tease each other. ML despite showing he don't care but his actions shows he cares for FL little bit just quietly. Afterall a child going through abuse surely shows affection in queit way so as to not harm others and take all the punishment to themselves. It's sad that how a child has to go through all these things when they deserve only love while growing up.

Another point I like it is opening scene where ML is talking about his trauma and seeking therapy ,a thing which was surely not talk about much in 2011..which also means he was bruised enough to go and seek help.

Another thing to highlight is that what a beautiful cinematography and colour grading...it actually gives u the feel and vibes of 1997 and 2011. From wall painting to floor and even the way refrigerator and tables were set up....pure nostalgia. It made me miss the times of early 2000s.

Since, i have watched only ep1, i think the FL's mother had it hard. There has to be something bad that happened otherwise why would a rich women will leave everything without job and move to diff city with a person whom she barely knew. Just to get a job so she was not even in love. Stinks desperation to get out of a situation to me.

I respect ur opinion. But in my pov cdrama are much better than kdrama. It's not about historical accuracies ( chinese censorship won't let them pass if there is inaccuracies found) but because of story lines.

Let me break it down.
1. When I watch any historical kdrama I feel like the focus is always only in romance or majority in romance.( Name me one which doesn't have). But in cdrama it's diff it's either completely romance, mix of both romance and politics or politics only.

2. In cdrama, atleast u have variety. Any girl in tang, ming dynasty has more story. Sometimes she can be a person who is skilled in flower( flourished peony), sometimes in postmortem( coroner dairy), or sometimes a girl skilled in martial arts who is trying to escape from marriage( zhan zhao adventures), sometimes a girl with bad childhood( love like a galaxy) and not to mention these stories doesn't include prince/ king as her romantic partner. But in kdrama it's always romantic arc with prince who will become king/ king. I see no variation there.

3. Cdrama often comes with more court politics even in romance oriented. But kdrama once they meet FL whole thing just shift to romance with politics as pinch of salt.

China does produces more wuxia and palace oriented drama than korea but in cdrama even revenge plots( lengend of zhang hai, nirvana in fire) are more interesting to me than any historical kdrama I have ever watched in my life. Plus for me cdrama helped me in understanding administration parts of history when I was studying but i get no knowledge like that from kdrama.

Plus comparing makes no sense to me. Both countries has clearly diff stories to tell with diff main plot. But still in my opinion if I have to choose any historical kdrama and historical cdrama i will always choose cdrama. It's my preference and opinion.

My main problem is with speed and love is that...they actually made whole confusion thing of FL handled bad. Allow me to explain. When FL was with ML and they were speeding to save themselves and they met their group and ML introduced FL as his gf. And he was close with her physically but still they were thinking of each other as brother and sister. Then one time when ML was fixing geyser and FL was staring at his waist attractively...it already crossed the line of siblings. So emotionally also she and he both were not treating each other as brother and sister and this is ep2-3. So i dont understand why the drama has to pull and push the FL feelings and make the situation worse. Because agree or not agree in most places even step brother and adoptive brother is illegal. Even cousin thing also. So they should have handled the whole thing better. Otherwise it's not first time adoptive brother and step brother concept was shown.

U can take the example of never ending Summer. Drama makers knew what they are doing. They didn't showed FL mother married to ML father so people were actually receptive towards it.

I have to drop speed and love because of this.
Never ending summer despite having a very good story I just had very hard time watching it because FL mother was in relationship with ML father for a very long time( not married). And although I get her desperation but she ain't no good person but the good thing is that she was aware that she is taking advantage of ML and she is also selfish little bit. Otherwise it's good.

Same here. I love FL here. She has given good strong FL characters. Plus for FL, when i watched Reborn i was truly impressed by the script except few things. Fingers crossed.

Am I thinking too much or is it actually a fact that promotion for this drama is not good?

Sigh. The very fact that in recommendation list "speed and love" and "never ending summer" is there already tells u. But atleast in "never ending summer" i thank heavens to not let her mother marry ML father.

My problem here is to not show this whole step thing or adopted thing like "speed and love" because tbh it's a fact that speed and love handled incest too badly. Wdym that one time u are seeing ur adopted brother in attractive way and hold hands and blushing and saying at the same time to others in the table "oh !! I am related to him like blood sister" 😑

Perspective matters. For me this drama is making me move on from my cdrama slump. Plus it's s proper xianxia drama. There are things that can be improved. But it's good overall till now.

In ep3, Tongzhou is a good person? But why is he interested in FL? Is he attracted to her? Or just he want to keep eyes on ML as he think he is talented?

Ques- ig drama hasn't covered it yet. But why dayin has chosen FL as her master? Past connection??

Not all can watch heavy themes. Not all can think after getting SAed to have a happy ending. Not all can understand the complex and layered characters. Although have some faults in this drama but it still surpasses lot of drama with acting, cinematography, ost, depth of characters and not to mention able to hold their audience till the end by roller coaster ride.

What u are saying is true. But is little jane critical thinking adult? He is only 18 ig. College first year. He just became adult and I said he is dumb to fall for him. But he is a good person also. He always think about others and he actually has a pure heart.

Plus one genuine thought. If all ur life u have put urself last and suddenly someone starts giving u this much special feeling. It's in a very human nature to have soft corner for that person. What shocks me is that little jane never ques why he is treating him special? Why all these care is coming? And never try to ask about the truth behind the rumour. So he ignored all red flags. And that's how one fall into the trap of the devil.

Actually I think it's because because big jane is a predator. He ain't no green flag. Even his smile is just predatory nothing warm about it.

Little jane is dumb? Hmm u can say that. But i think deep inside little jane started trusting big jane because he was nice to him. He prioritised him by saying " u are special" , " u are diff from others" not understanding why big jane is saying that. It was i guess first time when little jane was not thinking about others but someone was thinking for him. Atleast in his delulu world.

Little jane friend is a good person. He saw and felt that big jane is a trouble so he said it to his friend. Idk why this jealousy pic is coming here. Because I don't feel it.
